Yeah, you already know what you want. Do yourself a favor and don't deviate from that. I wouldn't date a woman with young children now either. Although that issue is mostly moot because of my age (47) This. Trying to make something different than what you want work never ends well. I'm at a point where guys my age (36) do have kids, or if they don't, they still want them. It sucks. Right there with you. Mine will graduate next summer, and I've never desired another one (and can't have another one anyway). I'm so close to being free, I can taste it. A guy would have to be the most awesome thing in the world for me to take on anything younger than a kid in high school. I guess it helps that I usually date older, when I date at all. But even then, too many seem to want/have little kids. That ship has sailed.

I dated a guy 20 years older and he was convinced I was going to leave him for a younger man. The last one was about 10 years older and couldn't get past the age difference even though he told me in the beginning that it wasn't a problem.

More power to those who do it and have done it. But after having done it myself, I know I won't go down that road again. It's hard enough to get both biological parents to agree on how to raise a kid and discipline them, but throw a step parent in there with some different ideas and things get goofy fast.
