Thank you for the update you are making progress. Just because you are sitting doing nothing does not mean your mind is not sorting and figuring things out.
I am glad to hear you have short-term disability insurance. Whew. It's something.
I know it's hard to think about now but there is some huge blessing coming your way.

That nasty stalker depression . It takes a long time to get through what you have gone through and heal fully. If you make it under a year, you will have super powers in recovering. Wishing you the best.

So glad you checked in, finnime! You'd been on my mind. It's good to hear you're feeling a bit better. Don't beat yourself up for what you don't think you're getting done. It'll all still be there tomorrow, or next week, or next month. You need to take this time to see to yourself. Please, do keep us updated as we care. You're important to us.

I'm glad too, finnime, that you're checking in. And, that you're getting through some of that paperwork.

Get all the help you need. I was recently diagnosed with an illness. Until now I did not have any health issues whatsoever. But now I need help to recover from this, and I'm actually glad there are doctors and medicines out there for me.
My avatar is my 11 years old cat. The cat's name is Ava, so this is actually a case of identity fraud. . I hope she doesn't call the cops on me. After all, I'm impersonating her on the internet!

That's ok. My cats routinely pretend to be me on the internet. Just last night my SIL ended up skyping me because my messages were making less and less sense. My kitty was 'helping' me type to her. He also proceeded to sit directly in front of the laptop camera so she got to talk to him for a good while before he moved and she could see me

I'm back from a road trip with DS - visited my sister and brothers in Massachusetts. DH couldn't go; his foot is too fragile yet and he can't bear weight on it, probably not for another 5 or 6 months. Depression sits with me, and on me, but - I'm glad to have visited family. It had been too long. I need them. And frankly after caretaking for DH since last July, I needed a break, a change of scenery. Filed a complaint last week with the EEOC, and will take their findings to an attorney for wrongful termination. This week my big project is to file a complaint with the Dept of Labor. My experience is exactly what the FMLA legal code is intended to halt. DS asked me about the dreaded D I'm living under. He understands, but clearly I'm not myself. It was a good trip.

It's good to talk about it with DS. I'm sorry I don't remember how old he is.
My kids have been walking up to me and giving me hugs much more lately. But they know I'm seeing doctors and my tummy hurts (gallstones and minor infections)

Should have said - DS is 20, soon to be 21.
I'm glad your kids are showing you love, Wisconsin.

Good luck Finnime. Hope you have a case and that you win. What your employer did was extremely shitty.

Good to "hear" from you, finnime, and I'm so glad you were able to get away for a bit, see your family, and experience a change of scenery. It won't cure depression, that's for sure - however, it does help to relieve some of the associated misery, at least for a short time. Stick with your meds and your therapy and give things time to sort themselves out. I, too, think it's good to share with your son. He's old enough to benefit from your experiences, even when those experiences aren't happy ones. What your employers did was despicable. I hope they pay through the nose for it! Keep pushing on that and don't give up!
