Ehh. I need to plan more meals.
My girl just got her wisdom teeth out, so it looks like we'll be doing a lot of soups/mashed potatoes/other squishy foods.

3catslady: I need this too. I come home from work and there is nothing thawed so I end up with peanut butter sandwich and a cup of tea with a serving of fruit before bed.
Monday: Frozen veggies, chicken, applesauce, strawberry cake-in-a-mug with fresh strawberries and whipped topping. Tuesday: Spaghetti, butter bread, peaches Wednesday: Sloppy joes, french fries, applesauce Thursday: Frozen veggies, chicken, mandarin oranges. Friday: Potato soup with broccoli, cheese, and chicken, peanut butter sandwich, tapioca pudding.
I just have to remember to get the chicken and the spaghetti out to thaw in the morning and the strawberries. I don't know what I will do for Saturday. Sunday I want to get in the habit of going down to the Dam and write. I did that once so far and it was nice. If I do that, I will be eating out at a little restaurant or buying a hoagie and taking it down with me.

you mix an angel food cake mix with another cake mix, I chose strawberry, in an airtight container. The I do a 1-2-3 cake in a mug mix.
3 tablespoons of the mix, 2 tablespoons of water in a mug. Mix and cook in the microwave for 1 minute. Hence the 1-2-3 cake in a mug.

My general plan is Breakfast: coffee (kids rarely eat breakfast, 2 don't like eating right after waking up and the other is too hyper to sit still, we try but.....doesn't always work out that he eats it all) Lunch: last night's leftovers Dinner: something with chicken as that's been the cheapest protein forever around here. There are usually a couple of sides with dinner, both veggies or a veg & a starch. I tend to cook the same 10 things over and over and just stock stuff for that. I keep saying I'm going to do different things but what I know is quick and easy and that tends to win when I get home from work.

Molly, only about once a week, if that. Every one of us is of the "there has to be meat" mindset, so eggs would just be "extra" protein.

My dinner proteins for this week (starting tonight)
Sunday chicken patty Monday shrimp Tuesday all-beef kosher hot dogs Wednesday tilapia Thursday sirloin Friday sirloin Saturday salmon and cottage cheese Sunday salmon and cottage cheese
The starches and veggies will vary for dinners ... but every night will have corn on the cob and a Dannon Light n' Fit Greek Yogurt ... and usually a salad with 4+ veggies.
My lunches lately pretty much stay the same. I alternate turkey and ham and my salad veggies. This just simplifies my dieting and my insulin doses.
My breakfasts pretty much stay the same. This just simplifies my dieting and my insulin doses.

Molly When you have a 'basic meal plan outline,' as we both do, it sure does make meal planning a WHOLE lot easier even without the complications of diabetes & insulin doses.

I may still get spaghetti in there somewhere, I have grape tomatoes getting old and won't eat them that fast so wanted to cook them in sauce.
