Rusty to Re-Purposed...
I'll be adding photos/creative ideas in the days/weeks to come. Here's the first. Have an old metal head-or-foot board from an old bed?
With a new paint-job, you can turn it into a pretty garden trellis. This one is painted green, and used for Clematis to climb:

Hollow out an old log - and turn it into a pretty planter:

The guy in that bottom right picture is just moments away from hacking off his left foot... ugh! His foot's pretty far back if you look at the pic above that one - it's the angle of the camera shot that gives the illusion it's too close to the log.

Old tires as planters?
Now if someone could only come up with a decorative use of an old refrigerator or couch on the front lawn.

Those are great, Tenn - thanks for adding another great idea for Junky to Funky.
Turn a few terra-cotta flower pots into a vertical herb garden (you could even plant small flowers instead, if that's your preference. Great for a front door/porch accent piece - or tucked into a corner of a patio:

Re-purpose an old spice rack into a storage rack for nail polishes. Just a new coat of paint and a few stencils (if you want to be creative), and you have a place to store all those tiny bottles off the counters/dresser - you could do this for thread thimbles as well if you sew:.

Two small dressers/end tables repainted and joined back-to-back can be used to create a base for a kitchen island - with the added bonus of extra storage drawers under the counter-top slab.

Got an old metal watering can? Turn it into a funky hanging planter: Check ìt for bird nests and nestlings though during spring and early/mid summer before you flood it with water. It would make a great nesting site.

Turn two or 3 old vintage (or even new) wooden rolling pins into decorative wall-art for your kitchen:

Brightly Painted Bee & Ladybug Bird Feeders
... made from empty coffee cans - just hang them from a tree branch and you can watch the birds:

Cool! I like that - you can make one out of old shutters too.
Turn an old or unused grass-seeder into a planter - all it needs is a new coat of paint:
