Looks gorgeous, steff ! I thought doing my Singer treadle machine cabinet was a chore - your piece is so much bigger - but now that the work's done and you have the hardware back on it, it looks perfect. Excellent job!
(I like your "cows" collection too - one of my nieces has the black & white cow stuff around her kitchen too).

I'm so damn proud of myself I can't see straight. lol My aunt cried when she saw it. My uncle hugged me so hard I thought I might not be able to breathe.
Back in the 70's, while they were dating, they were big travelers. Specifically to Mexico. They told me that the desk was bought on their first "travel date" in Mexico & shipped home. there's a mark on the bottom on the back that shows it was made in 1910 & by Raphello Garcia. Thank you Mr Garcia for making a desk that has stood up to the test of time!
I put all my plastic holiday trays/platters in the bottom drawer, all my glass platters/serving plates in the 2nd drawer & all my cookie sheets & baking pans in the top drawer. That's why I decided to keep it close to the kitchen instead of down in the basement. the toaster oven next to it will be moved around today (kitchen rearranging! since I emptied out 2 cabinets!)
Kiddo was laughing at me last night because I would put stuff on the desk, sit and look at it for awhile & then change it completely because I didn't like how it looked. lol I wanted the blue & white to match the kitchen stuff, but I have a cow thingys throughout the house & I have a serious love of my cow piggie, so I wanted him to be seen. and the cow platter in the middle is what kiddo got me for my bday this year, it's a cow cheese ball/cracker platter. And of course, my Oiler bobblehead had to go in there too. I've had it since I was like 10. lol
The next steps will be to flip the dining room with where my puter sits & get my desk in front of the window seat.

LOL - You're like me - once you start one project and see it through to its completion you bulldoze your way onto the next one.
I'm like you when putting things on display - I sit (or stand) back, and then keep fiddling/re-arranging til they're "just so"...
I just spent an hour myself reorganizing/shuffling things in 4 kitchen drawers. My sewing/art room needs some reorganization too.

Steph, you're an inspiration!
Found Machenzie Child courtly check in a catalog. Cannot afford it or the coordinating lamp (think checkerboard base, striped shade = $300+) so I'll try to make it

I hope it turns out great. tomorrow I'm going to my aunt's to help her paint her sewing room pegboard. We've already cut out stencils for all her stuff.

Hey, steff -- I can't find a wood lamp base. I wanted a new or new-2-me one but apparently they aren't made anymore? How easy is it to paint metal?

This one's on EBay for $25.
Though not wood, it could be painted to match your decor:link

Can you paint patterns on glass?? I'm sure you can, Ombud. There are paints specifically made for painting on glass. Michael's has them.

Yes you can paint on glass. You can also get "liquid lead - if you want to do a stained-glass effect.
I haven't done a full window, but I've done sun-catchers with both materials - as mmhmm stated, you can get all the supplies at Michael's .
A couple of pieces I made were just small picture frames with glass (also purchased at Michael's) and I did the stained glass designs on the glass in the frame, including the leading.

Not really 'Junky to Funky', but I saw this on Facebook. This would be a nice Christmas and winter decoration in the colder parts of the U.S. and Canada:

Don't have a real fireplace to hang your Christmas stockings from? How about making one - out of a few pieces of rough wood for the frame of the hearth, and a few small logs for the kindling. Add some red mini-lights in a bundle with the 'logs', and instant flame - mix in a few yellow for orange ones for a more realistic effect.
Add some holly garland along the top & sites, and Voila! _ Instant Fireplace !!

My easy junky project. I don't know what this was but it is sturdy and I liked the industrial look of it. I decided I needed it in the bathroom though so I spray painted it. I didn't spray it evenly on purpose so you can still see some of the older metal but hard to tell in the picture. I love easy projects.

Wow what a transformation! That turned out really pretty. I love that the paint color matches your decor so well - the added vine plant is a perfect finishing touch. Well done!
(I like the butler towel holder, and antique red" wooden flower box too).

What do I do with those tiny little battery operated xmas lights again? I remember wanting them for something last year. I bought some but now can't remember what I wanted them for. So what do I do with them now?

Spiders webs add a nice classical touch to it I think.
