Please show me where this particular note said anything about Christianity.

Let's see. Homosexuality is punishable by death in....what....like 9 Islamic countries? No accusations that the note writer may have been a Muslim? How about a white supremacist? They hate homosexuals. No accusations for them? Gotta be a Christian, huh?
Still waiting to hear where that note said so. There wasn't any hesitation to accuse, but we sure are slow to provide the proof.

GEL-maybe SL was confusing the note in this thread with the note left for another server. Here is the link to the other server thread.

I know what the other one said. I don't think there was any confusion at all. Or if there was....I don't know what to say since THIS one has been quoted in THIS thread at least twice. It's just another shot at Christians, which I am as thoroughly sick of as you are about the things you hold dear.
Thank you for the link. I have read it as I actually read what's written instead of jumping to bigoted conclusions.

lol....yes, dj. I know that it's a slim chance that if that note was written by that couple (which I highly doubt and I can't see how any thinking person wouldn't), they are Muslim or white supremacists or anything other than a couple of douchecanoes who use the Bible to their own ends. I'm just tired of it. There is an open season on Christianity on some of these threads and by some of the same posters and I'm not going to keep quiet about it any more than any other person would if something they hold dear to their heart is being attacked. It's not moderated in the same way as attacks on race, gender, homosexuality, views on abortion, politics or any other damn subject. I don't care one whit what a person believes in. They can worship Roy Roger's Bronzed Cowboy Boot for all I care. And? I'm perfectly happy to keep my beliefs to myself UNTIL people start making up shit that isn't there. And PS: Thanks a lot of ruining my rant with a bunch of facts!

So........ when are the people who chastised the "Christian couple" for being bigots going to apologize for getting it entirely wrong here?
I think we are seeing who have bigot problems here. The bigots.

I think we are seeing who have bigot problems here. The bigots. So who should apologize? Remember-the poster must have clearly stated the couple who allegedly wrote the note were Christians.

Second request. And I asked you to point out the guilty parties. Why won't you do that?

That's what it's there for. However, nobody here (that I've seen) has attacked Christians. Someone misquoted the note, but there was no attack. If there is an attack posted against Christians, it will be removed posthaste. If you see it, Report it or PM me, or another moderator. mmhmm, Administrator

Everything I've read says the restaurant's internal investigation was "inconclusive", and the restaurant has stated Ms. Morales' departure from their employ is a result of a mutual decision between she and the restaurant. She's returned some of the donations she received, apparently, and Wounded Warriors have claimed they received no donation from her. That's it. That's all we've got unless somebody has something more decisive. If you do, please link to it. It's sure not our position to decide who's guilty of what and spout it like it was fact.

Good. Sometimes karma happens faster than you think. I hate whatever happened either way, Zib. The whole thing just sucks. The restaurant coming out saying their investigation was "inconclusive" didn't help matters any. Either their establishment charged the credit card with the amount plus the tip...or they didn't. Sounds to me like they just don't want to get involved one way or the other. Can't say as I blame them.

Just had a big brouhaha with a judge who told a defendant that although the case was BS, the attorney was a scumbag, and the client was a liar, he " suggested" that the defendant write a check for ten grand to make it go away. Um, the defendant wasnt even the right person being sued. So why didn't the judge tell the scumbags to go piss up a rope and at least find the RIGHT person to sue? Good question. Bad thing for scumbag client, lawyer, and judge, this seems to be a pattern with this judge and this lawyer, as in cahoots with each other. Defendant taped the "advice" and went to newspaper with the whole thing. I'm so eagerly awaiting this being buried somewhere. Client ought to go to jail, lawyer should be disbarred, and judge should lose job. Not going to happen. Waiting to see if defendant gets in trouble for secretly taping the shakedown.

Lots of unscrupulous people everywhere, Zib. This particular girl doesn't appear to have a great track record with the truth. We may not ever know what really happened, since the one person (in my opinion) who could clear it up doesn't seem inclined to do so. However, I know less than nothing about the restaurant business so maybe it's not as simple as it seems.

Treating someone disrespectfully or in a bigoted manner (especially in this case, the wait-person at the restaurant) - is Un-Christian-like - no matter WHO is responsible for the note being left on the receipt.
Even it was was a "hoax", it was a cruel hoax - in the name of Christianity.
The note could have said "due to my bigotry against gays, I cannot condone rewarding you for the good service with a tip."
But whoever did scrawl the note, put the reason for not tipping as being it went against their Christian belief.
I guess they don't believe in Mark 12:31 - "Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself".
Quoting this because Tennessee asked me in another thread to point out exactly who in this thread blamed a Christian....here you go

Quoting this because Tennessee asked me in another thread to point out exactly who in this thread blamed a Christian....here you go MT, it appears to me SL simply confused two similar events. Earlier in the year a young male waiter received a note letting him know he would not be tipped because of the diners' Christian beliefs, which precluded supporting his lifestyle. The young male waiter is gay. Let's not start throwing darts at one another, shall we? People aren't perfect. They misread, they misinterpret, and they get similar stories confused. I know I've done it, and I'd be willing to bet you've done it. Let's just let this slide. I'm not going to don my admin hat for this. I'll dig it out if I have to do so, but I'd really rather not.

That's fine, MT. Let's just drop it now, eh? You have, after all, responded to Tennesseer. There's really no need to continue and you'd already stated why you'd posted what you posted. If it continues, all of it will be removed. There's nothing to gain, is there? I do admit I'm questioning why you brought your answer into this thread rather than answering in the thread in which Tennesseer asked.

In all fairness, mmhmm, Tenn asked the same question in THIS thread twice. I agree with you in that it does no good to point fingers, which is exactly why I didn't respond to his two requests in this thread to point out the poster who....
That being said, one has to know that any answer to the question posed would be personal. Since you didn't warn or delete the question, knowing the answer would be personal, it seems a bit unfair to warn and delete the answer.
Not being confrontational...just asking for fairness.

Also, Green Eyed Lady, you might notice my Reply #203 states quite clearly that if it continues, ALL OF IT will be removed. I don't hesitate to go back through a thread to be sure I get all of it because I know I don't see every post. There's no question of fairness there.

GEL-I knew the answer as to who said it. There was a poster on this thread who twice said the "usual subjects" should apologize to the couple and he called them bigots. If you read back he said "subjects" (as in plural). Twice I asked him who were the "usual subjects". Twice he refused to respond.
I posted a third request for an answer from the poster and the post was deleted by a moderator. Rightly so. My point was previously made.
Seems to me thoughif you are going to accuse "the usual subjects" of bigotry, then you should point out who they are. Throw the first salvo and you will get called on it. As it is, that poster was wrong. Multiple posters did not call the couple (the subject of this thread) Christian.
Calling some of the posters who posted here biggots (twice) is baiting too.

Tennesseer, I asked that discussions along this line stop. I meant that. There's no reason for us to be pointing fingers at one another over this matter. It is to stop right here. If it doesn't, as I said before all posts on the matter will be removed. That's ALL posts. mmhmm, Administrator
