In my post #193, I said Dez didn't say the reporter should have stayed home, Ed. You'd indicated that's what Dez said. Dez didn't say that. Nowhere in that post does it say anything about anybody not existing.

It could have, but this is where it DID happen. If you want to start a thread about another journalist beaten and raped by a mob somewhere else, be my guest. I posted the link to the problem the Israeli military is having , thats Jews raping their fellow comrades, yet you ignore that one ..any reason?..i It's something one wouldn't think would happen there , Israel, Jews, correct? Also out own military, not prisoners, you brought that out some where too, ones who they have to serve with, depend on in a combat situation, yet no comment on that either. Just this incident of a mob of pigs who happen to be Egyptian which if they follow a religion, would make them most likely Muslim.

Why are you singling out Jews? I was just called a "friggin bigot" and told to "shut the fuck up" for allegedly doing this with Muslims...though somehow I have a feeling you're not going to get that treatment...though I do appreciate you highlighting what's going to be a glaring double standard...

Ed, can you please explain to me how my post #193 says some people don't exist?

I think Dez is using the Israeli problems as a comparison, Ed, to show this type of thing happens world-wide, in all countries and cultures. He could just as well have used this country, because both have such incidences in the news at the moment.

nice attempt to twist what was actually said by me.... I said for you to prove that *I* said the things you accused me of or to STFU..... I did NOT tell you to stfu because of what you are spewing about Muslims. You really do try and twist everything to make yourself look like the victim of the mean ol' libs....

Not "allegedly" ed. You done did single out Muslims, and I stand by my comment. You are a friggin bigot of the worst kind. You are the kind of bigot who goes around calling everyone else a bigot.

Ok, so here is post #71 by bills that supposedly suggested that the reporter stay home: Soldiers and police officers get shot and sometimes killed doing their job. Fire fighters get burned, sometimes to death, doing their job. Common sense would suggest that they not go into some of the situations they do. I have read nothing to suggest that she did not fully understand and accept the risk that she was taking in doing her job. Read more: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=politics&action=display&thread=3488&page=3#ixzz1EC6hrCOjAnyone else seeing the part where he thinks she should stay home? 'Cause I'm not. Unless of course we all also think that firefighters and police officers should stay home. Try actually finding a post where one of us liberals suggested that she should stay home, because I don't think you'll find one

Thanks for proving my point! Pardon me? What point? So far, you've raised points, then waffled on them, then raised other points, and waffled on those. You've twisted, and turned, and wiggled, and burned, Ed. Now, you're simply not making any sense, at all.

It is so funny how he tries to come off as being all for "women's ' lib" when in reality, he is simply trying to mask his extreme bigotry and hatred toward progressive Americans and anyone in the world who is not a Christian or a Jew. No body is buying it ed.

The difference between what you and Dez said, Ed, is that you're coming at it from the point of view of a bigot and saying that what happened is indicative of Muslim society as a whole, whereas Dez is doing no such thing.
Now, if you would like to cite more than one instance of rape and find statistics pointing to a larger ratio of rapes than occur in the US or Israel or some other country and maybe relate some facts that might point to something being indicative of a cultural approval of rape, then we might even listen to you. But seeing as how you're just being reactionary, that isn't likely to happen.

Well thanks for the evening's entertainment, ladies, I'm off to bed now. Let's do it again soon! BTW, don't take a job as a field reporter, you're not going to get much sympathy, it seems... I only hope the women in your lives get better treatment than you've shown this reporter if something tragic should ever befall them...

So now if we refuse to condemn Egypt we don't sympathize with a rape victim? That's a new one on me

Ed simply can't answer the questions his comments have drawn. He can't back up his accusations, and he can't defend his postition when faced with logical debate. It's really pretty easy to see.

Most here see through your sick, bigoted, accusations toward progressive Americans and Muslims.
Well it took about 7 or 8 pages but the card was finally played. I didn't see "racist" though. In time I guess. I don't think anyone responded to my assessment about this kind of thing happening about 1000 times more frequently in Muslim nations than in western nations. Just an educated guess on my part but welcome to any criticism, if possible.

I was very impressed with Obama who called Laura Logan to check on her recovery after being raped by Muslim thugs in Egypt...I alsowas surprised to see Laura didn't dye her blond hair to black or dark brown and wear a scarf so she would not stand out in a crowd of fanatic Muslims....

Don't forget Ed it was not just women who were assaulted in Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Iran and Lybia reporting the news but several men were beat up quite severaly, and had their cameras confiscated as well... It may not be just a gender thing with Muslims but rather their disdain for non muslim journalists, reporters, and cameramen who just happen to be Americans, British, or Israelis..

Since it was about religion and not race, it makes sense that race wasn't brought up (until you chose for whatever reason to bring it here).I don't think anyone responded to my assessment about this kind of thing happening about 1000 times more frequently in Muslim nations than in western nations. Just an educated guess on my part but welcome to any criticism, if possible. I am curious as to what "educated" your "guess". I would think that a well educated guess would lead to a number like 937 times more frequently or maybe 1029 times more frequently. "(A)bout 1000 times" just seems like such a nice round number that one might think it was simiply pulled out of your ass.
Good morning

The BBC reporters were reportedly beaten by "men from the ruling party" while covering anti-government demonstrations.
Ghorab later appeared on BBC and Al-Jazeera broadcasts with blood on his face and hands.

It may not be just a gender thing with Muslims but rather their disdain for non muslim journalists, reporters, and cameramen who just happen to be Americans, British, or Israelis.. I think a lot of that was security forces actions , not the crowd, In the attack on the reporter, that was my first thought , but I think by then the security forces were gone, pulled out, possible for their own safety, the crowd was would have been to much to handle and they possible would have torn them apart, Mubarak was gone i think by then. If it comes out it was security forces , another thing and more exoplainable. In this case, a mob of Pogs, who were there more to cause trouble then celebrate, remember a lot of gangs there as in all cities, lots of released criminals but here could just have been a mob of pigs.. A reality of male behavior , not all but it just takes a few, another reason I have my doubts of why woman in front line, active part in meeting the enemy..granted front lines today wars seem not to be there, but it is one thing going on patrol..foing sweeps in force..and being back a bit ..possible not actions by the real comabtents but once moved to the back as a prisoner and second line troops take over...something that is real. One of the reasons that since after 48 , Israelis have not allowed woman into front line units,,infranty, think their armor forces too..airforce , artillery, I am not sure. Sorry to seem to hi jack..think all the same thoughts though, she was in the front lines of the happening I believe ...
