Can all of you that are finding bugs please post them on the bugs thread? It's an announcement one.. It will be so much easier to track..
things like the word wrap and page selector problems with ie7 and the LIKE button taking you to the top of the page.. Missing gear icon, etc.
If you're not using ie7, please put in there what OS and browser you're using too.

Not a bug I think but a question. In V4.5 the body of the posts was in HTML or some variant of that? It appears we have changed languages. Is this Visual Basic or I'm currently unable to select an emoticon and have it added to the body of the post. I'm not sure if that is a memory issue, a software version issue or I am missing something. Both single click and double clicking do not work. When I double click it does not add the highlighted or selected emoticon but posts my replay instead. I have an old laptop and old software. I am on XP service pack 3 using some version of IE 8. I haven't loaded Chrome or FF because I don't want to start any more programs when the stupid laptop starts up. Since memory is too low to run what I have I do not have the ability to kill any running programs, i.e. taskmanager does not have enough memory to load up and execute so I got to live with IE for now. Do I need to go to a higher version of IE? Thanks. Also, what do the tabs at the bottom mean? Visual BBCode

In short, yes. IE 9 is the lowest standards-compliant version of IE.
Visual shows you the content of your post 'as-is' in the WYSIWYG editor. You can apply formatting, insert images, and they'll show up as expected.
'BBCode' shows you the familiar interface where you can apply formatting, etc. using BBCode markup. The two are interchangeable. Anything you do in one will automatically be reflected in the other, and vice versa.

The two are interchangeable. Anything you do in one will automatically be reflected in the other, and vice versa. The IE9 thing might be a problem for more people than just me. It turns out since I am running XP I can not upgrade to IE9. I could move myself up in IE8 point releases but that is all. Found this tidbit on the Interwebz. Windows Internet Explorer 9 ( IE9) is a version of the Internet Explorer web browser from Microsoft. It was released to the public on March 14, 2011. [6] Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 9 as a major out-of-band version that is not tied to the release schedule of any particular version of Windows, and The system requirements for Internet Explorer 9 are Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or Windows Server 2008 SP2 with the Platform Update. [8] Windows XP and earlier are not supported. Internet Explorer 9 is the last version of Internet Explorer to be supported on Windows Vista; Internet Explorer 10 will only be supported on Windows 7 and late So while IE 10 might exist in normal people reality IE9 has only existed
under two years and XP users will not be able to upgrade. I think there are a fair amount of people in my situation if the creeping age of cars is any indication. (Now 11 years for the average up from ?) FWIW I was told by someone I should be able to buy more memory for my 12/2003 vintage laptop on Ebay for about $10. Given he also just did this and also went up to just 1GB of RAM AND I know of people with older tower systems than mine ... perhaps Martn and friends could see what issues those using IE8 might need to endure. Danke

is that for after you make a post? if so, that is the default for this version of the software. it's just sometimes pretty slow to get there.

Updated due to QR regression. I'm thinkng that by the above statement ... you mean that the Quick Reply box has reverted back to it's BBCode view? (I'm guessing BBCode view, because it's no longer in the "Visual" (with a white background) view where the text wraps and you can actually SEE the smiley icons). The page it goes to when I select the Quote or Reply buttons seems to working in the Visual view mode ... just not the one at the bottom of the tread pages. And just as an aside: I used IE8 from home last night and everything that was working appeared to be working correctly ... or at least correctly enough as far as the fixes go. I'm still using IE7 at work and most things appear as they do on my IE8 machine ... except for that pesky Quick Repy box I mentioned.

SASG: When I get it working properly, the QuickReply will look identical to the normal reply interface. I believed I'd accomplished this last night, but Proboards apparently has some kind of time-sensitive security hash built into their form generator to prevent spoofing ( ), and it was causing the problems today. I'll be working on it again late this evening, some time when few people are online and I won't inconvenience people if things go to pot.

Is the "Help" updated to V5 instructions? I ask because when I click on it it seems to have the old info.
i.e. Adding Personal Avatars
"If you'd like to use your own personal avatar, you can add one by clicking the "Modify Profile" link in your forum profile page. Once there, you'll see the "Avatar URL" box about half way down the page. Enter the direct URL of your custom avatar in the box and click the "Modify Profile" link at the bottom of the page. Note; the image must first be hosted on the web (Photobucket, Imageshack, etc) and have its own direct URL . Also, images larger than 100x100px in size will be downsized for use."
ETA: These buttons Upload/Link Delete are now working. I should have checked this first but Help still seems outdated.
I'm trying to learn on my own but can't figure some stuff out still. Like how to change avatars, clean out/delete my PM box (I got a little box and check marked it but that's all it would do) and set codes. I've had two people give me instructions but something is being left out as neither are working or I'm not comprehending. If the Help is not updated that won't work either.
NO RUSH ON ANY OF THIS!!
And please dumb it down for me (if anybody tries to help me) with exact steps.
i.e. Modify Profile Settings etc...
If you use computer/tech speak in your instructions don't waste your time as I don't speak it.

POM, to clean out your PMs go to Messages (at the top of your screen, last choice). If you want to delete all messages, choose Option and All Then, go to Actions and choose Delete (last choice) If you want to select certain messages to delete, hover over the title of the message and click on the box that appears. When you've check all those you want to delete, go to Actions and choose Delete. Let me know how that one goes and we'll tackle the Avatar Adventure!

There should be a Back to Top link at the bottom of each post now. I had to modify the css on each theme so if anyone finds one that's messed up, please let me know.
