You can usually find the whole thing at some point in the year for 10-20$. And the movie under 5. I have two copies... one i lend out and one that never leaves home... I think its also free stream on Netflix, not sure about Prime? ETA: there were only 13 episodes... so maybe you do have it all ? ... Not sure how you buy half.

ETA: there were only 13 episodes... so maybe you do have it all ? ... Not sure how you buy half. Not sure how you'd buy 1/2 the season either that would imply that some of the discs were missing from the boxed set -- I'm not sure 1/2 priced books would sell a 'set' of something like that. - unless driftr was being all clever with the 1/2 thing - 1/2 priced books - bargain bin (implying a discount maybe 1/2 off??) - 1/2 a season... and we missed it.

Actually, I was mistaken. It's been a long time since I had it out thanks to Sciance Channel. What I have is : Firefly The Complete Series DISC TWO. 4 episodes. Shindig, Safe, Our Mrs Reynolds, Jaynestown. In it's own box. With Shep on the cover. Go figure...

This is totally off the wall but it drives me nuts every time I hear Snow's theme on Once Upon a Time - I immediately think "The Last Temptation of Christ - the Passion Soundtrack by Peter Gabriel - near the end" - sure enough on the Passion Soundtrack - the It is Accomplished track seems to have a repeating melody that's almost exacly like Snow's theme. (FWIW: I think the Passion soundtrack has some might pretty music). In fact the Theme triggered such a strong "I know THAT! that's peter gabriel! " that after watching the first episode I immediately dug thru my CDs and ran thru the tracks to find the one that I swear they were using in the TV show. I guess I should google this kind of trivia...

Apparently, I need to go back and watch Firefly. Does it actually have an ending or is it one of those shows they just took off the air with no wrap-up involved - I hate it when they do that! If that is the case then I probably will not bother to watch it. I've always considered Serenity to be their way of wrapping things up. I had actually never heard of Firefly when I saw Serenity. I liked the movie well enough but felt like I was missing something. Then a year or so later I was in Best Buy doing my Christmas shopping and spotted the series on DVD. It sounded like it would be pretty good and was obviously connected to Serenity so I bought it and watched it in my own personal marathon. And so began my love affair with Mal, Wash and especially Jayne.

The Serenity movie helped wrap up some firefly. There is also a graphic novel that fills in some details. But all in all, it wasn't like a cliffhanger, never come back to it, kind of thing... a few loose ends do not justify missing it, in my opinion ... sooooo well written... "Mercy is the mark of a great man.... " Can we please do firefly quotes, we can start its own thread... A site dedicated to just that. Enjoy!!!! www.thehallway.net/storage/fireflyquotes/index.htm

I watched Serenity first too... told my mom I watched this crazy good movie, and she told me, you know that's a series ... I re-watched the first half this weekend .. remembered one of my favorites: Mal: Jayne, your mouth is talking. You might want to look to that.

And have you noticed that Mark Sheppard who was Badger is also Crowley in Supernatural and Sterling in Leverage. He makes every episode he shows up in on Supernatural. :-)

Anyone else watch Walking Dead?
I saw an interview with the actor that plays Rick. I had no clue he was English. Took me by surprise when he was talking and had an accent.

Yes. I missed the beginning last night because I forgot to flip over from the Cardinals. Ended up staying up way too late to watch the whole episode on the rebroadcast. Tired today.

Ohhh- the Walking Dead is crazy this season. Rick is not the same guy he was last season (pre-killing Shane).
Drama- did you ever watch Love Actually? He is the guy that's in love with his best friends wife (Kiera Knightley's character).

I think being the leader of the group is really taking its toll on Rick. He does what he has to do.
I do think leaving that guy in the yard was over the line.
I like Walking Dead for the same reason I like Breaking Bad. It's not totally unrealistic that in a similar situation you would do the exact same thing.

I can understand it, that would be one more person to watch out for, house and feed. We also don't know why that guy was in prison. I was watching the Talking Dead and they asked the question if you were in prison before the apocalypse should you get a free pass afterwards? The actors said it depends on what you did.
The guy that died in the yard could have been a serial rapist or killer. You wouldn't want to take the chance of bringing someone like that into the group.

True. I think it was easier to justify because he ran out into the yard himself, all Rick had to do was close the door. He couldn't do the same with the two other guys, not in front of other members of the group.

wrongsideof30- I read an interview with the show runner and they asked him about the reality of them having this tiny infant to care for and all that and he danced around the subject. I'm not going to be surprised if the baby is stillborn or something because I can't imagine them carting around this squalling infant for the rest of the season. Of course- I've been wrong before (once or twice )

Can they do like every other stupid television show and just have the baby "nap" 23.5 hours per day?

Well, fortunately for me, AMC and Dish settled their differences and I was able to watch ep 2 (missed the first 10 minutes because I didn't know until I was channel surfing that I had a free preview of the newly reinstated channel). I watched ep 1 online yesterday to get up to speed. Now I have to weigh the extra costs of upgrading my package back to the level AMC is on but I most likely will now that I'm nearly caught up on everything.
Anyways.........................
Personally I'm hoping Laurie dies in childbirth or falls and brakes her neck or..............anything to get rid of her annoying ass. I have never liked her and would have prefered to keep Shane over her. I'm curious to see where this season goes and am very pleased that so far its moving at a much better pace than last year.
BTW: Maggie is played by the same actress that played Bella in Season 3(?) of Supernatural.

Um yeah- Carol getting ready to cut into the dead Walker to do a trial run of a C-Section rated high on my ewww, icky scale.
michelyn- I don't disagree with you. I am not a fan of Laurie and don't think she adds much to the show. She's Rick's whiney wife who cheated on him (I think if someone told me my husband was dead I'd want to verify that for myself not take the guy who's been wanting to get in my pants' word for it) and a half ass mother to Carl. Seriously- does she ever know where her kid is?

I have mixed feelings on Laurie. I don't blame her for not finding out if Rick was really dead or not. If there are zombies running around and I have to save Gwen, my priority is going to be Gwen. It would break my heart but it would just not be practical for me to try to bust down the doors to the hospita and rescue my husband.
Also in such an intense situation you tend to get closer or feel closer to those you experience it with. Supposely Rick had been dead for quite awhile. And she did do the right thing when he reappeared.
I also don't know how I would react if I had just run from a zombie hoarde and found out my DH killed his best friend and then my kid shot zombie shane.
That's part of why I like the show so much. I would have checked out a long time ago if the characters didn't behave as realistic falliable people.
DH hopes Laurie dies. I hope she does not because I think she represents the bits of humanity that is still left in Rick. If they can reconnect then maybe he is not lost.

Sorry- on the run from Zombies, no running water, living in the woods and digging a hole to use as a bathroom- none of that screams "huh, jump in bed with dead husband's best friend". Getting jiggy with it would be the last thing on my mind. But that's just me.
I think she brings out the worst in Rick. She essentially gave him permission in the last season to kill his best friend. Basically hinted that it was either kill Shane or be killed by Shane. Even now- she's checked out as a mother in my opinion and hasn't offered any support to Rick. When he came back from killing Shane she had the audacity to look disappointed that he came back and not Shane. No sympathy or discussion about how he did what he had to do to protect himself and his family. Just a look of disappointment. I think she has nearly killed what little humanity he had left after killing Shane.

I've known he was English but it did startle me the first time I found out. I'm all for the "Ricktatorship". Viva la Rick!

I didn't think Texas men were allowed to watch any show with diary in the title. Isn't it in our state constitution or something?
The whole Rick/Laurie dynamic is annoying to me on just about every level. Hopefully one of them gets killed off or the writers at least stop focusing on it so much. I was disappointed we didn't get to see more of the new sword-chick in Ep 2. Looks like we'll see more of her next week.

I think they have to focus on it at least until the baby is born. This isn't like a daytime soap where they can just have everyone get bombed while on the subway and write her out of the show.

I suppose if we read the graphic novels we might know the answer. I can see it going either way because you could get a lot of storylines out of her having the baby and a lot of them out of it being stillborn.

Now...I'm more familiar with them than I care to be.....but the girls on Vampire Diaries are smokin' hot.

They've changed a lot of stuff up from the graphic novels. It does follow to an extent but you can't read them and truly know what's going to happen in the show.
