Every bit of jiggling from outside sources helps. Sitting in a boat in waves will wear a person out. The vibration of a golf car or regular car will help remove excess water retention as will standing in the cooler section of the grocery store. I tried something new this morning. Light exercise cleaning house before breakfast. I heard this tip on one of the talk shows on how actors stay slim. Really? I think you are correct Reaper! the rides were exciting for sure as my stomach was turning all around. and not just from the loops of the roller coasters! LOL

You can do it - Z.
Yesterday with the snow, I stayed home and did Callanetics and cross country skied for the first time in years. Today I will go farther if the wind is not too bad.

sunday: south mountain 10 mile: 1 hr 42 min 34 sec....8 min & 20 seconds slower than my last 10 mile race, but it included running up south mountain and abosolutely zero training so i can't really complain, but yesterday i couldn't walk....

Sunday: 5K race with a 20 MPH headwind for about 2 miles of the 3.1 mile course. No personal best, but did get my third-ever best time out of it. ;D

I really can't wait to get to your level of fitness. 5k race, running UP south mountain, stay motivated enough to keep at it on windy days! whew - that is wonderful. like the PS3 games I play I'm just at the beginning of this game of keeping fit and struggling to keep with it. but then I see a commercial or see the pros of the game and want to get to that level so I keep playing and get better at it. Thanks Everyone

I've been off work for three days now. with having BIG plans of pushing myself to go hard into the exercise. but only do the minimum for the past three...no 5 days. only doing 30 minutes per day since Thursday.
OH wait! 2 days I did 1 set on the curl bar - just didn't stick with it!
BUT today is only beginning and 1st set of exercise is out of the way and have time to keep my promise to myself that I can do more, so much more.
;D

OK, anyone else out there doing a Turkey Trot run on Thanksgiving? I know there are a few locales that offer runs on Turkey Day. My town has a four-mile race. First 900 finishers get a fresh apple pie. I've done the race for years, but never finished high enough to get a pie. Which is fine - I'm the last person who needs to be eating it. It's just a good way to burn off some pre-holiday calories. ;D

I am doing a run tomorrow. It is my first year doing this race. It is a 4.748 mile run. The only down side is the race starts at 10:00, which is way too late, IMHO. I wished it started at 9:00 at the latest. But it should be fun. It is a big race with lots of history and participant.s.

I just read an article about Amby Burfoot doing this race for the 50th time! I assume it is the same one (4.748 miles in Connecticut). I had planned on doing a Turkey Trot, but I just don't have it in me. All the races around here (well, within an hour's drive) are 5ks or 4-milers, and my mid-week runs are 5-8-5. I don't want to lose any mileage and I don't want to add another day of running, especially when I have 18 on Saturday. I am pretty strictly following my marathon training plan. I am glad I didn't sign up for one because I am sore and really dragging this week. Good luck to everyone who is running tomorrow!

I've got a long swim planned for Saturday; the last hard workout before the state games next week. I'll run Sunday and Monday and swim easy Tuesday through Friday. Food plans are to eat light all week (OK, a little indulgence tomorrow), go light on carbs all week, and avoid the sugars and fats to a great extent.

Steph, That is the one. 14,000 runners, plus staff, volunteers and spectators.... I imagine it is going to be crazy getting in and out of there. I am running with a friend who is going to run it in around an hour. That puts her finishing at 11:00 the we have to get on the shuttle bus to our car. No idea how long that will take. But say a half and hour. That gets us out of there at 11:30 (that is with no milling around after the race) and home at noonish. Shower and in the car to try and get to my parents (45 minute drive) for 1:30 dinner. It is going to be tight.

Thanks, Zaire! And Archie - 14,000 runners? Dang, that's a lot of turkey trotters! I've run very few races with a turnout like that.

OK, run is done. Did it in about 50 minutes...still waiting for the electronic posting from the local road runners club to be official. I did not get my start time at the starting line, and with 1,900 runners, I was nowhere near the front. Cold and windy conditions, but overall, a good day to to this.
OK, can I eat now? ;D

Nice job Nancy. The weather for our run this morning was absolutely gorgeous. Bright sun and almost 50 degrees at the start. I thought we were getting in the starting line early enough, but there were so many freaking people that we could not push through. So we ended up not starting on the course at all. We were on a side street and were able to push our way under a rope fence onto the course once it started. The first three quarters of a mile were really tight. I bashed into one guy and some girl cut right in front of me and I hit here, but other than that not too much bumping. Lots of people were dressed up in costumes which is fun to see. I finished at 36:36 with a 7:40 minute pace. I was hoping for a 7:30 pace, but I am happy with what I did. If I was able to run the first mile faster I may have hit my time. Overall I think it could be an fun annual run. Oh yeah and the winner finished in 21:20, a second off the record time.

OK, a bit sore this morning, so just did a two mile walk. Going out for another one in a few minutes. Tomorrow, will do the final long swim practice before the state games next week. Long run planned for Sunday, then start to taper off with lighter runs and swims for the week. My bike is out of commission due to the accident.

motivation level = HIGH[/b][/color] Alarm 100% woke me up this morning. However I still got up and exercised. did average numbers - BUT added some extra stuff. sweat was off the chain! I think when I'm more not in the mood to exercise the sweat is tremendous, compared to when I am in the mood I sweat less?

I had to squash a bad thought. I sleep to get rested. Get up, then work out to get tired. If it weren't for the mirror, this sequence would change. I did have a good workout and DH said I looked tired when I got home. My food intake was healthy until that stupid Dr. Oz mentioned potato chips. I'm out of real potatoes so I couldn't microwave any. I dove into the bag. Taking itty bitty bits and long chewing helped for a few chips.
