2.79 miles tonight. Not happy with the time but my distance is increasing. I'll have to try running outside when I'm home. I don't want to subject my lungs to the horrid air quality here. I am just getting to a good spot so I don't want to relapse.

I've somehow missed this thread until now! Saturday: 1 hockey game Sunday: 2 hockey games Monday: 1hr beach volleyball Tuesday: I was tired, didn't do anything. today: not sure yet. I'm going to be spending most of the day sweating my ass off in a mechanical room, working on a steam system during the first day of an expected heat wave. we'll see how I feel at the end of the day.

Let me say I will try to run tonight. My breathing got messed up yesterday and I just got allergy shots which won't help. Peak flow was off 40 pre shots. I'll see at 4:30. I want all this crap to go away!!!

Did a 6 mile run this morning. Temperature was great - about 68 - but I did not check the humidity before I left. 92%. Needless to say, not my best effort! But I did all the miles and I finished upright, so that's all that matters.

If you haven't run in a week or two, I would definitely start out with some low mileage - either the 4 or even less, like 2-3 just to make sure you don't experience any side effects and to make sure you don't overexert yourself on your first time out in a while! Starting back up after a period of rest really stinks! Yesterday I did 3 miles on the treadmill - planning on running 6 over lunch today and then strength training this evening.

I actually did some jump roping yesterday. Probably looked ridiculous jump roping along down the street outside but it was a good sweaty workout!

2.77 miles last night on the treadmill. I'll see what I can do tonight. My lungs were very unhappy last night.

I was away last week so no regular exercise program. However, I did a lot of walking, swimming and kayaking. Oh, and I ate whatever the heck I wanted too.

Got in 8 miles this morning for my last June run. Super humid again, but it was nice and cloudy and there was a breeze.

Long distance running seems to be very popular nowadays. I am simply not a runner. I will do some running as part of my exercise but have no wish to run races, cross country or marathons. But, i certainly admire those who do. BTW, how long does it take to run 8 miles? And for those who do run events, how many hours do you have to run a day to keep in shape and how do you find that time?

But, i certainly admire those who do. BTW, how long does it take to run 8 miles? And for those who do run events, how many hours do you have to run a day to keep in shape and how do you find that time? I think it is a fairly popular means of exercise, but I can count the number of people I know in real life who run a lot, so I don't think races and serious running is that big. I have run two races - a 5k and a 10k - and will be doing another 5k, a 7k, and a 15k this summer. My goal is to work up to the Disney marathon in January. I don't know if I will get there, but I am sure as hell going to try. On a good day (not humid like today), it takes me 80 minutes to run 8 miles - 10 minutes/mile, which is my fairly consistent pace. Today it took me closer to 90 minutes since I stopped to walk a few times. If I lived in a flat area, not PA, it would probably take me less time. But if I do 10 minutes/mile, I feel I am doing good. I do run races slightly faster though. My 5k was about 8m40sec/mile and 10k was 9m/45sec/mile. I run 4-5 times/week and am averaging 20-25 miles/week. That is a good weekly mileage to run shorter events. For example, this week I ran 3 miles, 6 miles, 5 miles, 8 miles. So for 23 miles, if I run 6 miles/hour, it takes me almost 4 hours/week to do it. That really isn't that bad when you think about it. If you're doing an hour of cardio every other day, you could be running almost the same amount. But during my marathon training, I am going to be running upwards of 30-40 miles/week something like 3 miles, 7 miles, 3 miles, 20 miles.

want to die...official time for the Army 10 Mile qualification was 1:33:55...i was the only girl, didn't finish last, just second to last...but they guys were all impressed so that boosted my ego.
was hard to hold back on wednesday and not run hard so i wouldn't burn myself out for today.
now i just want to go home and go to bed.

Still working out, but not doing much with the dog because it has been much too hot. I haven't done anything extra to make up for it though.

I'm not exercising much cause of the heat and humidity. But I'm still eating right and I've gone done 1 more size.

I walked twice yesterday. Went to the gym and did the treadmill and elliptical with handweights. I love walking the treadmill and using 3 to 5 lb weights and doing arm exercises while i walk. I get a much , much better work out. And, if i am going to walk for 45 min i figure i might as well be using my arms to so i do all kinds of arm exercises with and without the weights. The real challenge for me is to do that stuff without falling off the treadmill. ;D

I've made an exercise schedule that I shall follow with strictness. An hour's cycling and 30 mins of rowing. All the workout in my gym. I'll lose around 300+ calories.

Good mood and ready to keep up with exercising
This morning hit the snooze and then turned off the alarm and stayed in bed woke up in a panic and jumped on the exercise bike, for a half hour. the bad part is I didn't ...or was under the normal bar that I've raised during recent weeks.
LOL - guess my start time to exercise is soo early now - I still made it into work on -time

last night - oh well went to sleep early. which caused me to wake up early this morning of course and I had or have no motivation, tired, and a bit sleepy However I did manage to push the weights around and some aerobics no sweating but just enough to I guess cover the bear minimum.

Sleepy start this morning - motivation level = MEDIUM[/b][/color] I did get feet on the floor this morning at 4:45AM. the problem was I felt tired. But I did push through the tired feeling and exercised through to put up good record / numbers on the exercise bike. Plus used the stretch bands.
