Wow, good for you MM!! Mine's not quite as impressive but I kicked up my walking routine this week. Normally, I set the treadmill manually. This week I used the program button 'weight loss' and it truly whipped me! A good part of it was on 8 incline.
Do you know what your heart rate is when you run?

Great workouts! I upped my time on the Precor but it's nothing like what you guys are doing. I need to schedule that portion of the w/o to a TV program I like or something I can read. I spent almost 10 minutes one day trying to get the newspaper folded so I could read it. I also need to start the program while I am deciding on what program to use. That adds a little more time. ETA: I have been using the bikini workout from WH Big Book of Exercise. I am on week six and am scheduled for an alternate workout for a week, aboutt 2-24.

I've still been hitting the gym hard, up until last week when I was sidelined by a cold and have taken the past week off. I can hardly stay awake after work and have been sleeping 10-12 hours a day. My weight has gone up a little, but the weight lifted has really gone up, I'm closing in on a 400lb squat ( hit 385 early last week) and was feeling great until this damn cold. I hope to lean out into photo shape by the end of April and will try to post something then.

I took a little break once I got to my goal clothing size. I still want to drop 10-15 lbs, but I worked so hard to drop 2 clothing sizes that I just wanted to maintain for awhile. My workouts have pretty much been Boot Camp 2 nights and running or spin on the other days. I do Pilates in the morning at home. I'm getting a great workout at Boot Camp. The instructor was out of town last week so I did weights for the first time in quite a while today. I did the same weight & reps on the machines (I usually have to drop the weight or reps when I take a break from lifting). My arms are WAY stronger from all those push-ups in Boot Camp. I did more reps than usual on the free weight exercises that I did. I bought a pair of minimalist running shoes. Not the Vibrams. Those are just too weird for me. Mine are Dr. Scholls; they look like old fashioned sneakers. I LOVE THEM. I had been reading about barefoot running and I saw the shoes on the clearance rack at DSW. My boss gave me a gift card for Christmas, so I figured I'd give them a try. I'm not sure when I'll be ready to run my first race in them (they REALLY tighten your calves because you run more on your toes). I alternate between those and my RunTones. see? I think they are kinda retro-cute! next weekend I have my first TWO races. A 6k on Saturday and a 5k on Sunday. I did both races last year. Hope I get a better race time on both! <<<when I did a search for the picture of those shoes, the first thing that popped up was a blog that I wrote about them on SparkPeople >>>

I'm on a workout break by doctor's orders. For some reason an iron count of 22 and a hemoglobin count of 10.8 makes them have you stop doing your workouts. I hardly think that's fair . . . so I'm cheating and doing only a little bit instead of an hour.

I am mostly still doing my usual exercise classes. I've also added a new one as some Kettlefit classes have started up in my area. Not at my gym though so they cost extra to do. Did the first one last Thursday night and my hamstrings are still recovering. It was good though I decided I needed to lose about 6 lbs, since my weight has been creeping up slowly, but have gained 1lb since deciding that, even though I burn about 3700Kcal per week at the gym according to my heart rate monitor. So I have given up chocolate, crisps, biscuits, cakes and sweets for Lent to see if that helps at all. Not that I eat very much of them, but I do tend to snack a bit at weekends. I'm making plans to start cycling to work 2 days a week (34 mile round trip) once the clocks go forward and it is a bit lighter at night. Hopefully that in addition to the kettlebells, kickboxing and BTS classes will get me back to peak condition.

I just made a deal that I would lose 20 lbs before my trip in late May. It's the motivation I need, feeling like I have to report in to someone. So, just got started today--did two 27 minute shifts on the exercise bike (watching episodes of MASH as I work out) for a total of just over 11 miles. Need to get back to spinning--I can get into shape quick with that, just haven't been motivated enough. Hoping to stop by the gym tomorrow night--Tuesday night I'll be too busy making stuff for a potluck we're having on Wednesday. At least I have a goal I feel held to.

Peach - LOVE those shoes! ;D
I have been saying I'm going to work out more/eat healthier for a while now, but I'm going to actually put some real effort into it. I do manage to do yoga and walking (with the occasional workout or dance workout) at least 3 times a week, but I need to get it to at least 5 times a week. Plus my eating needs improvement. Weekends and family gatherings are really hard. Today has been going okay though.... did 45 mins of yoga and my eating has been pretty decent today. Some days I feel like a recovering addict when it comes to my poor food choices. Every day is a battle.

Family gatherings are the worst, especially if my Mom is involved. There's just something about her that makes me eat, it must be stress. I am down six pounds so far (really got going in mid-January). My clothes still fit the same, but I think I'm noticing a shape shift to my body and BF did say tonight that my thighs are looking strong. My routine so far has been pilates 4-5 days a week and using the elliptical trainer 2 days a week. I do a few minutes of weight training before my workouts at the company gym and I do try to do some toning at home with 3-lb weights. I tried going for a walk/jog on Saturday, but it hurt (I need new sneakers desperately), so I just walked for three miles. Into wind. It was god awful, but I'm glad I did it! I'm keeping track of my food and activity with the My Fitness Pal app and it really is keeping me honest. ETA: You can do it Jenny!

my six pack training is not going as well as I would like, but I dropped 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks so that was good.
My 5 mile run is below a 7 minute mile pace so I am happy with that....I have an event I am training for where we have to do pullups, leg raises to the bar, some other stuff and run 4 miles....wish me luck
my overall weights and cardio trng is going well and my eating is going well, just wish the weight was dropping faster....

Right now, as I type, I'm craving something sweet. Whenever I crave something , I drink a big glass of water instead.

I am finally at the point where i can run 30 minutes without stopping...but the weight number isn't budging....I think I need to go back on low-carb. I need to lose 10-15 lbs before bathing suit season!

But considering I can go fairly long distances, I consider myself a runner, just a slow one.

Sug - drinking water has never worked as a snacking deterrent for me. I feel really sick if I drink water on an empty stomach. I fell off the wagon big time last week. I bought a 12oz bag of homemade Reese's cups and seriously downed them in 1.5 days. I felt awful, and it set me back a LOT. I made a "no more candy" vow right there and then - with the exception of a small Easter bunny eaten over the course of Easter week. But only if it's a gift! I have a problem. This weekend wasn't too bad though - I did 45 mins of yoga on Saturday and even though I had Wendy's for lunch, I didn't eat dinner so I didn't go much over my calorie limit for the day. Sunday I did 50 mins of pilates and tried to eat okay. I still ended up going about 150 cals over my limit. Took a brisk 30 minute walk at lunch and ate a nice salad and Veggie Straws - 210 calories total. ;D

Way to go on everyone's workouts! Rob, that is an awesome pace and good luck on your upcoming event. My 10K is this coming Sunday.. I did a longer 7.7 mile run yesterday and did it in 1:11:46 which puts my pace at about a 9:19 minute mile. The problem I had yesterday is I had switched to new insoles and they freaking killed my feet. The arch on my right foot feels bruised... So I'll put my old insoles back in... the old ones really aren't all that old. They're not worn out yet.. I was just looking for something to help alleviate the pain I get on the balls of my feet once I've been running for 50-55 minutes... these clearly were not it. well 7.7 miles is impressive! I haven't ran more than 5 miles in like a year....so you got me there

I didn't know about this thread; just found it today. Getting ready for a 10 mile race on 3-17. Did my last 10-mile run this past Saturday, so I think I am ready. Still swimming 4x/week, biking once, running 2x/week. Thirty pounds lost last year, and hope to equal that this year. Main diet secret: no carbs after breakfast. I can have whatever kind I want at breakfast, but that's it for the day. Seems to be working. Oh, and as for the rest of you:

I am down seven pounds! This is the most effort I've ever put into losing weight, aside from doing drugs. God, that was so much easier. ;D I'm already ready a pretty decent eater, health-wise, but I really started paying attention to my portion sizes and not housing everything so fast. I only keep salt-free almonds at work for a snack and even though I have a couple of yogurts in the work fridge, I haven't felt the need to have one in a week. I should bring them home soon. I used to have a glass or two of wine every night, now I allow myself one bottle a week (two nights). I will own up to a veggie burrito on Saturday, but I don't get cheese or sour cream, and I got shit faced and danced a lot, so I burned off those calories. ETA: Oh yeah, I also played with my sister's kettle bell when we got back to her house after the bar. No wonder I was so sore on Sunday!

I've done the half-marathon, and would like to do another. Not sure if I want to do the local one, because the event is 1) very expensive ($110 for the half and $150 for the full marathon) and 2) not managed well. Last year's event was nearly cancelled due to bickering between the host city and the event management. Who needs to hear that while they are training?

A week and a day to go before the twn-mile race. I have a run planned for tomorrow and Monday six miles tomorrow and three Monday), short bike session Sunday and swimming the rest of next week, with things tapering down as the week goes on. I'm still tinkering with the food plans. The night before the race will have lean protein, a plain salad and a small amount of carbs. I don't believe in carbo-loading for myself, since race-morning nerves mean having to get rid of most of it anyway.
I do have some of those energy gels to try out; I may take one or two with me on the race course.

hmm, well I know I dropped about 30 pounds and maintaining there. I would love to get started on the workouts again . .. . I may do that anyway . . . I'm tired of waiting for the doctors to give me the go ahead. What are they going to do, string me up by my feet and . . . . . perhaps I don't want to think about that. lol
Anyway, going to start p90X up again on Monday. I can't run due a permanently damaged ankle.

Doctors can be strange when it comes to exercise. A friend of mine, in very good health, had to have a pacemaker installed. And he was taken off ALL exercise, even walking, for six weeks. Not doing certain exercises following the intstallation, I can understand. But not even allowed to walk?
