Going to Fry's today, to get some Lowes gift cards we need a new medicine cabinet for our bathroom, and they are giving four times the gas points if you buy the Lowes gift cards. Win, Win for me.

FREE TOILET PAPER ALERT AT SHOPRITE!!! Just wanted to let any other Shoprite customers. the dollar days deal at Shoprite has a deal that is Free after cat even if you don't have any coupons!!! It is offer #6 buy 6 get $5. Marcal small steps bath tissue single roll are buy 4 for 0.75 each and the next 2 ring up at .95 each for a grand total of $4.90. FREE! And it spits out a $5 cat as soon as the 6th item gets scanned. So at my Shoprite they just use the cat on that order itself, so I make sure my order has a filler to use up the .10 cents. This is not tracking like the gas card deal did. For this that is a great thing! The computer doesn't know if you do this deal once or a hundred times in the week. ;D The only thing you can't do is try and do the multiples of the same offer in the same transaction. It will only spit out the cat once, unlike the Acme cats from a week or two ago. You guys are good luck! I have never seen free toilet paper before. it is not my brand but what the heck it is free. ;D

Beach: Do they always do that? If they don't can I use the cat to buy more TP and get another cat for that transaction? I always need free TP. With 6 in the house I always seem to have someone screaming for me to get TP for them.

In January of this year, Rite Aid had a free deal on their generic TP. I bought several on Sunday morning when the ad broke, but I didn't want to be a pig about it so I stopped at (30) 4-packs even though they had a ton in the store and was told by the cashier that they had a ton more in the back. I had planned to go back later in the week and buy more if they still had some in stock because I wanted to give others an opportunity to get it. Well, so many people were going into the Rite Aids that Sunday and clearing the shelves that by Monday morning they put a limit of (2) or something like that on the deal. When I went in the following weekend to do my Rite Aid shopping, I asked the cashier if they had sold out on the TP and she said that they still had a ton of it in the back. Oh, and by the way, your envie is on its way. ;D

Nice RA transaction Skubikky!
Babss74:
Yes, present the receipt with the survey coupon on it. Ask if they know how to take care of it. Hopefully they will say yes. Technically, they are supposed to price modify one of your items and take the survey code from you. I've heard some RA's are just running at as an MQ. Doesn't matter as long as you get your $3 off. If they don't do it, you could either try a different RA or call corporate. My RA had no problem taking care of it yesterday. Hope you have good luck with it!
Bluecluessubtlety:
Oh man, I would be so mad if I had people use up 6 rolls of paper towels in 5 days. Good grief - are they EATING the paper towels?
I stretch my paper towels out for quite a long time. I mainly use a sponge and regular towels to clean counter tops.
I have I think 4 rolls of paper towels I managed to get for free. It's been pretty difficult to get 'em for free, so I feel your pain!
Are these "houseguests" the niece etc that you are helping out? In that case, they're not exactly houseguests. They're temporary residents of your home and they should be contributing to the upkeep of the household.
You are right to feel taken advantage of. This behavior is not ok. I have a feeling you will put a stop to this nonsense.

I do have to boast this morning, my Skippy q's were for $1, and I got a q from the red box at CVS for $2 off any of the CVS chips. I bought 3 jars of Skippy and a bag of chips, used $2 in EB and paid 37 cents OOP. Not bad.
That kept the kids quiet on the ride home after I picked up my mother from the doctor's office.
ETA, Blues, I agree with Leanna. If they're staying for very long, they're no longer houseguests, they need to contribute some.

Well, I just got done making a double batch of chicken spaghetti.
Chicken - $1.00 (2 cups) - leftovers from beer can chicken @ $.50/lb. Spaghetti - FREE (I used 1/2 regular and 1/2 whole wheat) Cream of Mushroom soup - FREE 1/2 C. minced onion - $.10 2 C. cheese - $1.00 1 can mushrooms - FREE (filler at WAGs)
So AT LEAST two main dishes for less than $2.50 TOTAL. We'll eat it once tonight and I'll freeze the rest for another meal next week or the week after. Tonight I'm going to pair this with free frozen veggies and one of the $.50 Fresh Express salad kits making it a VERY INEXPENSIVE meal and DH loves it (it's his mom's recipe).

Clarification - not house guests. Yes Leanna, these are the relatives who moved in to get on their feet. So I wasn't charging anything because I wanted them to save and get out. In the meantime, I have stopped buying food and will no longer leave the stockpile unguarded. I wanted them to use stuff, but sheesh, I don't go through items that fast.
Saving grace is the DBF lives directly across the street from me. Today he is moving a bunch of the stockpile items that cost me money or I really don't want to share to his place. Last 2 weeks I've pretty much been driven out of my home. Each evening my son, dog and I go over to DBF's house. So any grocery shopping we've done we've left at his place. I will continue that until they are gone. I think it's silly to label food with DO NOT TOUCH stickers but at the same time, I would never use the last of something and not replace. I don't do that in my own home! When I was with former DH, we were considerate of each other and didn't take the last of something without a heads up to the other. It's frustrating to go for something and find it all gone.
ETA: glad I can vent here with normal people who understand. I have no problem speaking my mind but I can only go so long politely telling them what I think before I blow up.

Blues: That must be so frustrating! I spend a few months with my mother and her husband years ago with one of my children just to get back on my feet (no drugs just abusive ex) and I was so thankful to have the assistance but even with the little job I had when I was in school I bought anything and everything I could in the house that we might use or could use up. My mom would usually tell me no but its hard to say no when the new package appears in place of the old one. So I really do not understand the mentality of people that act like they are entitled to things. Hang in there and I hope it gets better for you.

I am so disappointed in my newspaper. My Sunday paper is the LA Times. This is supposed to be the best. Well, it wasn't yesterday. All I got was one decent Unilever RP and a skinny RP. No SS, no P and G.
UGH!!!! I am going to see if I can order some P and G fliers. Has anyone had success with a coupon supplier that will sell these flier? Thanks!

I have a question for all the riteaid fans. I have a receipt with the old survey coupon offer on it. I know I can not go on line and get the coupon but I thought I read that they would honor it if you presented the receipt is that the case or did I read something wrong. Trying to plan a razor trip and would like to use it if I can. Again thank you all for your help. Don't know what I would do with out it! Babyss: Talk to your manager first before you start your scenario. Mine gave me $6.00 in cash after I did my shopping yesterday. Bluesclues: Hide your stock and then have a "nice" talk with your guests. There are some things I buy whenever there's a great sale to be used much later, like the holidays. If I didn't hide the deluxe mixed nuts, they'd be wiped out in no time and I would be one unhappy mama. I've stockpiled candy bars this summer for my students this fall and they are in my neighbor's freezer. More to keep the temptation away from me. Dollar General: I spent $3.91 and saved $42.00. I bought 8 Airwick freshamatics @ $4.00 each and 4 Clairol Balsalm haircolor @ $2.75 each. I used 8: $4.00 Airwick Q's and 2: $5.00/2 Clairol Q's. I went to 2 stores and the cashiers were impressed. The one wants me to help her get started with couponing. I gave her a $4.00 Airwick Q to use and told her to save ALL her coupons from her inserts. Meijer: I paid $1.98 for 2 rotisserie chickens using 2: $2.00 IPQ's and 2 catalinas. I'll be making more stock tomorrow.

What time is dinner? suzi: Actually, you gave me the idea to challenge myself to see how many meals I could get out of a single chicken. This chicken that I bought @ $.50/lb (again, thanks to you) has yielded 2 dinners and one lunch so far (the original pieces we ate when we first cooked it, home-made chicken soup for dinner, and left over soup for lunch). With this batch of chicken spaghetti, I used up all the left over chicken (cut from the bone and diced) and we should get (2) dinners out of it. The average price for the chickens that I bought was $2.75. Have any good chicken casserole recipes?

I went to pull the inserts from the unsold papers and only ONE paper had the SS at the first liquor store. Obviously, SOMEONE is taking the coupons out. I would suspect that someone is doing the same where you live. Hey, at least you got the Unilever Qs; I guess they decided not to put them in the smaller newspaper that we get around here.

For some reason I was only thinking that it mattered if you were going to get overage. I'm going to have to remember that when I go back in to pick up (4) more Coffeemate before the end of the week.

My Wags will NOT allow me to use MQ's first. I've even tried just giving MQ's and "hiding" my IVCs. Then I've given the IVCs. You know what the cashiers did? Cancel out my entire order and re-ring it with IVCs first. Oy vey. Not much I can do about that since they insist they HAVE to take Wags q's first. Ah well...what can you do? You can probably see why Wags is so difficult for me.

Beach: Do they always do that? If they don't can I use the cat to buy more TP and get another cat for that transaction? I always need free TP. With 6 in the house I always seem to have someone screaming for me to get TP for them. Babs my Shoprite always lets us use the cat if it spits out before the customer has paid. I don't know that that is the usual though. I would think most would do it like CVS hands out ECB's where you get it after you have paid for your use OYNO. Normally it didn't matter if it was the same item that generated the cat in the first place. the cats I got today just said off your next order. They didn't have any restrictions that I saw. That said this deal does both stack and roll. Sounds like a dog training trick. ;D I went back and got 12 of the rolls of marcal TP, 2 Folgers coffee and 4 boxes of marcal tissues in one order. It spit out all 3 $5 cats as soon as the 6th, 12th and 18th item was scanned slick as snot. I also did the kellogs deal in the same order. I did 10 keebler indiv snack packs. They were $3.49 each and I had 10 $1/1 MCs and the $10 cat spit out for me to use to pay for them too. So my final total after my MC and Cats which I used to pay for the items in this whole order was $6.18. And $5.49 was for the keebler crackers, and all the TP, tissues and coffee was just 0.69 cents.

blues- HUGS! When we moved in with DGP 21 years ago (time flies when you're growing up) when my parents divorced (father was abusive and manipulative to bring out his finer points), we would have NEVER thought to behave like that. Maybe part of mine was because I was always from birth raised off and on by my DGP but still- geesh! And yes- I have put Do not touch and name labels on food before. Unapologetically. Still going through my dog food coupons. Some had expired- but I am looking to see if there are any this week because DB gave me almost a dozen insert pacs.
I have received a large pile (10 or 12 in fact) inserts from DB this week. Please someone send me the Hound Alerts.

Dancin, not really sure if the binder thing works for me or not !!!Thats why I keep falling behind. I dont know how else to do it, I have tried envelopes, files, etc.. Prob, is I get 2 Sunday papers, our Friday papers will also have the Sunday inserts in it, different layout thought, so I dont "buy" extras on Sunday, then, a few co workers will give me their inserts, some give weekly, some monthly.. so I dont know what dates they are when I get them,,I usually clip out what I know I will use, same stuff I buy every wk and keep one envie for that,, the rest ends up in a pile, then I have to search thru this big a@@ pile of coups every wk when frugalsuz puts the deals up,,, The envies are good, though I end up with mutiples all thru out the envie, I figure with the binder at least all the multiples will be in the same spot...And I dont dare ask gift horse in the mouth, and ask the people to give me their coupons weekly,, dont want to rock the boat, even though I am sure they would appreciate having them off their counters,, sooo who knows, right now they are all clipped and hope to be sorted by wks end,, then prob, go out the window again with next donation... I have even tried the file system, but I like having all my coupons with me when I shop just in case I run across a good deal,,, Guess I want my free cake and eat it too !!!!

Ruby: thanks for the input. I'll see how it goes. Suziq38: I have used whole coupon inserts before. They ship quick but most of the time require you to buy either 6 or 10 packs of the inserts. Or group all of that weeks together so this week you end up getting 40 inserts. Let me know what you might need I did get a few extras this week and would be happy to ship what ever q you might need to you. Beach: thank you for the info. I am off early to get tp! One more question. So I don't look like an idiot and go back a bunch of times can you do like 10 rolls and get more than one cat? I know with acme you can but I just want to make sure so I don't feel like a gigantic moron

The date of the inserts are on the spine in small lettering if that helps you. madisonsgmom: jeep is entirely right. The date is right on the insert. So mark them and you've got it made. I just stack mine by month. The earliest inserts for the month are on the bottom and the most recent are on top. Then when frugalsuz or someone else posts a deal, all I need to do is to go to my stack, see if I got the coupon, and clip. I would suggest going through the old ones that you have and organizing them. Then try the clip-as-you-go method for maybe a month and see whether or not it saves you some time. I will say that the binder system does insure that if you run across a great clearance deal, you will have the coupons you need to take advantage of it immediately. Since I rarely find great clearance deals, the pros of using a binder (or some similar filing method) do not outweigh the cons. To be honest with you, I've never had a binder so IT COULD BE that I'm missing something; but I think the time spent constantly keeping a binder organized (FOR ME) is better spent researching and actually shopping. In the end, each individual has to find what is best in terms of time spent vs staying organized (FOR THEM). HTH ;D

Ladies, If anyone is doing the J&J Up in RA this week, the Viactive is a double dip for both the J&J and the 5 Up WYB 20$ worth of vitamins. There is a 2$ MQ in the 5/8 SS and a 1$ VVQ from this month. So 2.99 for each and if you have Ups to roll makes a good deal.
BTW, I was able to get my last survey Q get rung up as non taxable MQ for 3$, so it did not impact any of my Up deals. Good thing the manager was ringing me up.

IF you frequently find great clearance buys, that is a totally different story. I guess I'm a little bit lucky that I don't find a lot of clearance.
