Thanks! I will keep you guys up to date as the news develops. The owner blew off again yesterday and told me if I don't like how things work, then I should go find another job. I was so tempted to tell him to F off. This will be so very timely when I give notice.

Wow, what an a$$! I am so glad you found a job so quick! I dont even know if you should give them 2 weeks notice. Because the way they are acting, they will not be a good reference for you no matter what you do.

Well, as expected, he flipped and was surprised. I agreed to 4 weeks though he asked for 12 weeks. I am meeting the Mrs. soon to discuss. I just told him its time for me to move to more challenges as I've outgrown this position. I am glad that part is over. I am secretly enjoying watching them scramble for plan B. he's already said they won't be able to replace me with one person. In a month, this won't be my problem. Thank the heavens!!
Rukh- drug screen was instant and no problem. Only vitamins and birth control in my system!

Even my former boss who was part owner in the company was only contractually obligated to 1 month's notice. Heck even Presidents and Congressman have less than 12 weeks to get out of dodge if they are lame ducks. Congrats on your new job. I hope you get better hours, better pay and none of the drama of your current work environment.

Congrats on the new job! You must be a better person than I am because I wouldn't have even offered anything more than 2 weeks. If they wanted you there longer they shouldn't have been dick heads in the first place. Congrats and don't let them even mention you staying longer!!!

money - Surprising how some people are surprised when others look for another job based on how they are treated at their current job. When do you start your new job?

Wow! You are way too nice! They keep insulting you and yet you still agreed to 4 weeks!!! I hope you are not jeopardizing your new position. If it were me, i probably would have told them to shove their job when he was being a dick (after the offer of course).
I hope it all works out for you. Just make sure you are looking out for yourself first and foremost!

The new company fully supported me giving the adequate notice to my current employer. They've been wonderful. Met with the Mrs today who tried to convince me to give more notice and that they can't believe I didn't give at least 3 months. Mr continued to bitch that I am being unfair to only give 4 weeks notice. I told them that's all. If they hire someone before 4 weeks, I need to leave sooner.
Told my staff and team members as well. It was tears all around. They're a good group of people and that's the only part I'll miss.
A former colleague and friend works for the new company and has been there a few years now. They're sincere about the work/life balance and she has loved being there. In fact, it's clear that everyone loves being there. I am really excited to get started there and close this chapter of my career.
A nice perk that recently came to mind is that when we're ready to have baby #2, I may actually be entitled to a real maternity leave. Holy cow that's going to be awesome.

Do these people live in the real world? Because the customary notice is 2 weeks! I have never ever heard of 3 freaking months. Even giving 4 weeks is almost unheard of i think. I still say you are being too nice and generous. I hope it doesnt bite you in the behind.
