I just saw that we will have temperatures in the 90s again the coming days. After a couple of really early hot spells in April and May, we had a nice summer, and we even "missed" the late August/early September dog days. But here we are again - for the second time this month. LeSigh- I'm completely over this weather nonsense. Time for tbe rains to start and fill up the reservoirs again.

I don't know what it is with Monday nights but for many months now I have had trouble sleeping on Monday nights. This morning I saw it turn 5:30 and next thing I know it is 11am. So dirty Harriet is staying dirty until at least Thursday. If I get to the carwash place after 10am I might as well call it a day due to the long wait time. So many full service places have closed here the last couple of years that there are few other options unless I am willing to drive 15+ miles to get it done and I am not so dirty Harriet will have to wait.

The day started out well. The pool is fixed, so I went swimming. I was feeling groovy. Then I called Simon. It's a mess. Jordan (who was tazed) is back home. He's no better, screaming and banging on the walls. Simon was sitting in his car, just to get away from Jordan. He's afraid of him. I figured people didn't see it. I did. I just don't know what to say. This is so heavy. I guess there are no other solutions for Jordan, or maybe Melody is not ready for those, but this has all the makings for a bad outcome

While I don't have any seasonal allergies to speak of, just sneezing and coughing but not bad, I have been sneezing far more than usual this time of year. And Dirty Harriet* had the answer as to why: she is now a brownish white with a distinct yellow sheen. I can't remember ever having to use my windshield wipers prior to driving off in the fall * Dirty Harry is set in SF and boats/cars are female. I live in the Bay Area, my car is almost always dirty due to the severe drought we have had for years -> she is, very aptly I may say, named Dirty Harriet Ragweed is literally off the charts here so the windshield is covered in pollen which turns to yellow mud when you use the washer thingy. Houston is one giant sneezing, coughing, nose-blowing mass of humanity right now. And we have strep, RSV, and Covid going around too so you don't know if the person in line at Aldi has something bad or just allergies. No washer thingy is used by me -I just use the wipers for a quick dry swipe (yea I know I could Scratch the windows) but whatever, I need to be able to at least see out while driving. If I feel lime it and am up early enough I will take my car for an inside/outside cleaning. Then I just need to do a drive through in a few months and I'll be fine for the year

I got up at 5 am & took a Covid test. It was negative, so went back to sleep. Most likely my congestion & headache is from my Fall allergies, which really weren't bad the last few years, as I had been wearing a mask whenever I went out in public. I haven't worn a mask this Fall, so I feel like my allergies are kicking my a$$ right now, but I have a lot to get done the next few days, so I must power through. My allergies are kicking my butt too. I hope you feel better soon. this is the problem with bringing the religious right into politics. they are absolutists. if you think abortion is a right, you are the spawn of Satan and deserve death, or at a minimum, to never be anywhere near the halls of government. if you think someone is evil incarnate, you will NEVER consider their opinions, no matter how reasonable, ethical, and moral. this is where the US is politically. i see many parallels to how things are in Turkiye.Yes, and I have often wondered what made you choose Turkiye over other countries like say Portugal which also had relatively easy entry requirements. Note, I don't expect you to explain yourself. This is plain curiosity as it applies 0% to my situation. I am just glad that I never gave up my Dutch citizenship.

Just made another Goodwill run and dropped off a medium sized load. As I remembered for once I also went to Comcast and dropped off a redundant modem cable box. While there I got really brave and decided to drop cable starting the 22nd - so one more trip there next weekend to drop off the other cable box because my tv watching habits changed significantly over the last year and my bill will go down by almost $100/month. I really should have done this at least a year ago but I was waiting for an alternative to Comcast for internet which always seems to be "just around the corner" but never reaches quite to my area.

I have been pretty productive this week but now I am done even though it is only noon.
I emptied another couple of boxes and got rid of most of it: two FB buy- nothing pick ups, a large stack for Goodwill tomorrow, very little in the trash and even less that will stay. I also did another hazardous household waste drop off (can only be done by appointment) and got rid of remnants of paint, car stuff like coolant ec., and some harsh household cleaners I no longer wanted.
Next week will be tough and I don't know how well I will do with those boxes as it is mostly Xmas stuff that I collected over the years and across continents and love... We'll see. For now I am just going to enjoy what I did get done.

Well my day sucked. I thought overall I was doing pretty good at my job only to find out I'm pretty much in the same boat I was before. I ended up crying which was embarrassing but I couldn't help it. I told DH it would bug me so much if I didn't know there were others who aren't doing their jobs well or are slacking and it's never addressed. T before she left would take 4 hour naps right in the lab. We were told nothing could be done about it. Yeah I'm not happy. I keep getting a larger workload while I can't figure out what the people who's job I've been given are doing all day now. And I apparently cannot satisfy anyone here with my performance.I told DH this just reinforces to me I'm beyond broken and will never fix myself. My partner in crime at work said that's not what anyone below management thinks. Many of my coworkers want me moved up and put on the bench. They've told me I am being wasted. But it's management that controls that and today it was made pretty clear I'm not considered promotion material even though administrative work and bench work are two different things. My benchwork what little I get is impeccable. I have more than a sneaky suspicion that you are more than satisfying your boss' expectation and that s/he is terrified of losing you thereby bringing the department's performance down. And the solution is to torpedo your chances of being promoted. I know that should not happen but I also know it does. You KNOW that you are good at what you do and don't you ever forget that!

I really need to go out more. First I had to Google what BWW stands for and then I discover there is one like 2 miles from here - in a shopping center I occasionally go to - the only one I actually go to - so I should have known. Then again it is the center that has the nearest Target to me and I have not found anything I like or need there for so long I no longer go to the store and I gave my gift card to DDIL this summer just to get rid of it. My in store shopping days, with the exception of food and Costco, may be just about over. No enjoyment left in there for me

I had well-established cleaning routines, but I let them go when we moved into a new house and I finishing up a degree this last year. It's time for me to set up a schedule for this house now that I don't have school work to do in addition to my job. Some of the things on that list I do more often than they're suggesting. For example, we've only lived in this house for 16 months, and I'm on round two of washing walls. Ideally, I wash walls at least every other month and preferably once per month.
I also have my deep cleaning lists in an Excel Workbook--one sheet per room. There are so many little things in each room to remember!
Yeah - i think they were too into everything fitting into the weekly/monthly.etc slots. When you say wash walls every other month - is it a wet wash? ceiling? do you include a cleaning agent, or just a damp cloth? I usually do the lower part of the wall with vinegar if they get splattery, etc. but I don't think that is very good for the paint, and sometimes I've scrubbed through it.... On the daily list they have - I feel like I have a lot of laundry - but I'm not sure doing one load daily is the key they state. When I do my bedding, that is 2 or 3 loads depending, and I all need to be done on the same day. I have a largish L shaped sofa that I keep craped in large plush throws due to cats, plus additional ones for the usually snuggling under. I wash those weekly, but again all at once and that is 4 loads. Since the main goal is to get rid of cat hair while freshening, I do short cycles but with only 1 large or 2 smaller throws in the load with an extra rinse. But I guess if those are 2 days of multi loads then the rest of the week hould be the obligatory 1 load? And with the bedding and the throws, while it is a lot of loads, there is no folding and putting away - so maybe that evens out? Are you using those Bounce dryer sheets that are supposed to remove pet hair? I am wondering if those actually work.

My cleaning ladies will be here today. They sent a text to remind me that I told them they had to wear masks that I am providing. They didn't need to remind me. They clean to my standards but my standards have never been "company" ready. I will be rebelling against my mother's insistence that the house always look that way for the rest of my life. My house is always company ready - it is a bit of a mess and company can come and enjoy it the way it is or they can stay stay away. Their choice - so per definition it is company ready For the record: my home is not filthy/dirty or a hoarder's nest just not in "showroom" shape.

The far right lunatic fringe refused to vote for him, and I guess he didn’t want to do vote after vote like McCarthy did. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/yeahthat.gif) basically the loonies are now holding the repubs hostage in the same way they have gone after the democratic party. They need to find a way to deal with this or we are in for a really, really rough ride.

Poor Simon has a lot on his plate, weltz. Yes, he does. He's not doing too well. I'm worried about him. I'm worried about Melody. It's all too much. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/hug.gif) for Simon, Melody, but especially for you with your worrying about everyone

DIL goes to a Kaiser in CA near Bay Area. She is very enthusiastic about a team Kaiser put together to help her. She feels she’s getting better care there than at UCLA or at good hospitals in NJ I have Kaiser Medicare Advantage in the Bay Area and I have no complaints whatsoever. However, I have very simple health needs (BP and cholesterol controlled with meds) for the most parts. Then there is something going on with my eyes, I keep forgetting what it is, that needs to be monitored but not yet treated. If I forget to set up an appointment for my annual eye exam the assistant to my ophthalmologist will contact me to make sure I do. That last part is a big reason I went with Kaiser -> I can be rather sloppy with my healthcare and need someone to kick my butt. LOL. I tried their system out while still working so I knew what I was getting into and it was right for me

He doesn’t see himself the same way we do. He thinks he has the most beatifulness body and the thinkingest, most articulate mind, appearances to the contrary well, they do say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That this specific beholder is more than a tad delusional is a fact but whatever

I'm back! The move was one obstacle after another! I'm shocked I pulled it off. I have movers coming today to get the heavy stuff that I wasn't even trying to moved. I'm way too old to try and haul appliances up stairs at this point. Did I miss anything good? Y'all want to see the raid video now that I don't live at the address they're announcing in it?Yes please.

Rant here! I misread the handbook, and the HOA doesn't change the lightbulbs. So today found me on a six-foot ladder on a sloped driveway changing the floodlights on my garage myself. I had bought one of those extension things, but I ended up with a stick in my hand and the changer part dangling from the bulb. So I had to get the ladder to get that down, which is why I changed them the old-fashioned way. Fortunately, they are LEDs and are rated for 13 years. And my neighbor did come out and spot me while on the ladder as I changed the second one. I have a feeling my whole house with either be dark in 13 years or I will have a handyman on retainer! These ceilings are really tall and almost none of them are open fixtures. You have to remove covers everywhere. And they call this a retirement community? ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/smile.gif) Liked because your neighbor spotted you, not because you had to climb up a ladder

On a side note not about the loser but once of his "only the best" legal team: the IRS has placed a lien on Giuliani's Florida condo because he owes a paltry $550M in back taxes. Let's see what those "get HB for tax evasion - no sweet heart deals" in the House have to say about that. news.yahoo.com/giuliani-florida-condo-placed-under-124521239.html

Actually I have been thinking for a while that the only fitting disposal place would be a dumpster fully "celebrating" and meeting what he has worked so hard at doing to the Constitution of this country. Being better than those MAGA idiots - forget it. I am years past that point. To truly befit his presidency, however, that dumpster would have to be on fire. Maybe an " eternal flame" kind of thing? We have to think about the environment. Can't have the orange loser befoul our air eternally IMO. But a nice "pour gas on it and throw in a match" moment would be nice and maybe acceptable

Many great leaders have had their body lie in state after death. I'd think it more appropriate for Donald Trump to hang in state. From the neck would be a suitable choice, although upside-down wouldn't be bad either. After all, he has long tried to turn American democracy upside-down. Only fitting he should be remembered that way. Actually I have been thinking for a while that the only fitting disposal place would be a dumpster fully "celebrating" and meeting what he has worked so hard at doing to the Constitution of this country. I have often wondered if it would be better if the speaker of the house wasn’t a member of congress. Get some non-partisan admin type to be the master of ceremony and come at things from a logical process. That would have put a stop to this impeachment bullshit. If the Senate had been run by a nonpartisan, the Supreme Court would look different. I like those people who take the role call. They look all business and annoyed - they would make a better leader than the shit show we have going now. Don't you think that this would result in another "neutral" non-political party like the SC we have right now? For how long would this person be in charge? Who would appoint/elect them? (Most) people like power. Adding yet another layer of power to abuse does not seem a great idea.

Hey, I am 71. I consider myself a senior but I am not elderly. I have had a will since I bought my first house. The current will looks nothing like that will where I had my dad as executor. At that age, he could have handled it. But there came a time when he couldn't handle anything. I am pretty good with Windows computers but terrible with Macs. I am working on getting my iMac ready to sell. Have to get the software, etc. off of it. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/yeahthat.gif) and I don't need assistance with walking or sh*t like that either. That said, I do need help to open things occasionally due to arthritis in my hands so there is that.
