The Walk of the Penguin Mich I may have missed your post because of the work I had done last week, but did you manage to find yarn shops? With gorgeous yarn and those knitting needles you needed?

I did it. I have my bedroom back and made another Goodwill run. I should keep going as there are still a lot of hours left in the day (it is only 4pm here) but my back and hands (arthritis) tell me I am crazy and call it a day... I also now have at least 10 square inches of moving around room in the guest room ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/rofl.gif) Finishing the work this coming week is not going to be pretty/easy but I am going to try.

Probably trump's next grift what with his trials going on. ![](https://i.imgur.com/OMxwtVY.jpg) Rumor has it Melania is hawking these in a revenge sale. Maybe they can offer a combined Orange paint addict autographed bible/cross deal? Should really lift his lagging fund-raising efforts.

His friend down the road that gave them to us bought him a Tshirt, that says, real men love cats. Yep, he wears it, LOL! In the story I was reading last night a woman is wondering about why a handsome guy takes such an interest in her. She tells her friend "and he has a cat. Aren't men who love cats serial killers?" Note that I know a fair share of cat loving men and, to the best of my knowledge, none of them are killers serial or otherwise.

Here in north Jersey many of the Canada geese are no longer migratory. They stay in the big corporate parks. DD was gifted some Canadian goose breast fillets by a hunter friend. She said they were like steak I am afraid that is what is happening here - they are having goslings.. Kind of cute but they imprint here IMO and that is not a good thing. The fact that they don't migrate lime they should also does not change their protected status. I can't put anything on the roof however IF I could maybe a barbeque would be an idea ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/smile.gif) Just my luck that wood frame multi unit buildings are not allowed to use (fire powered) barbeques due to fire danger. What a tale of woe I am spinning here. Did I mention that, despite the geese, I truly love living here? If not, I am saying it right now: this is a very nice place to be.

- Canada geese are migratory and as such protected under the law - I have never heard anyone claim they are tasty - they shit all over the place and have made my condo complex a stopover on their flights north/sound - they are clumsy IMO and use my roof for landing and takeoff - they are LOUD both vocally and in their roof maneuvers And they are driving me nuts with their racket so now I am trying to figure out how to get rid of them without risking either fines or jail. Unsuccessfully I may add. They managed to get rid of them in a park nearby but that caused them to go to other places with water - in other words a bunch of them came here

Some observations: 1) I can't put everything back in three days that took me four days to remove 2) My back has decided that it needs more time to recuperate than just 2.5 days between all that moving things around 3) no matter how tempted I am, I cannot ditch The Brothers Karimazov. Finishing this darn book seems impossible to me after several stops and start trying to read it - so it (yet again) ended up on a shelf. For now my goal is to try and reclaim my bedroom before my cleaning lady comes on Monday. Whatever is in de guest room, which currently has about five square inches of moving room ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/tongue2.png) , will get put back in its own sweet time.

We are on page 100! Anyone want to take a guess what the number* will be be the time all these trials are over?
* until the orange paint addict dies is not a valid answer since (1) that is not a number, and (2) it is wishful thinking due to the co-defendants in some of these case
November 8, 2016 - the day that will go down in history as the self inflicted Day of Infamy.

Well, spent another 18K today to have my basement torn apart. Great deal huh? Woohoo! Is that so you water can be pumped to the north side of your home so you can install a sump pump?

What has boggled my mind ever since this whole issue came up is that the orange paint addict could have 100% avoided this trial if only he hadn't been such a cheapskate who just can't face paying for anything himself. I don't have a clue how rich he actually is but even if he overstates his wealth by a couple of billion $ those $160k would have been peanuts. But no, he has to go and falsify business records the dumb ass...

Floor replacement completed late this afternoon. So now I am dragging some stuff back. I have far too many books - despite my valiant efforts to reduce them. I did manage to pawn off the BLACK LEATHER (shudder) Lazyboy recliner* to one off the guys who installed the floors. He and I are both very happy with this event. *DS2 left the chair behind when he left home 23.5 years ago. Whenever he visited he used to sit in "his chair". I had warned him I was not going to move that thing to Germany. Now it is just gone a few years early. I'm going through this now, and it's not as quick as your project was. I'm having the whole house (except bathrooms) done, with 1/4" underlayment put down first. They are trying to work me in with a few other smaller jobs, and I'm good with that. So far the LR and DR are done, and I love my flooring choice. They are doing a great job. But the upheaval isn't fun. I'm grateful that my last move from one house to another was less than 2 years ago, and the move before that was 8 years ago. There was a major purge then, and then a smaller one with the most recent move. As it turns out, I've moved quite a bit in my adult life, owing to a couple of temporary duty assignments (renting our place out for a year here and there) and a divorce. I guess I'm lucky that the moves and temporary locations caused me to declutter every few years. Still, when I moved here two years ago, I was appalled at the amount of stuff I had. But then, some of the things I moved were out of spite. I was so pissed off at the buyer of my last place that I refused her unreasonable offers for the appliances. I moved the fridge to give to my DS and DDIL, who really needed it. I also brought the washer and dryer, and ended up donating them to ReStore. They were only a few years old, so someone got a really good buy. Am I unhappy that my spite cost me real $$? No. Seriously. She nickel and dimed me all the way to closing, and drove everyone involved in the sale (both of the realtors, the lender, the title company, the HOA, the lawyer) absolutely crazy. By the time we got to closing, everyone was done with her. I would so have done the same thing. And yes I would have spend the extra money as well and not regretted it for one moment. She probably thought up to the last minute "so what is she ( seriousthistime) about it? I'll get my deal. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/muhaha.png) to that!!!

That's true. They get COLA, but not the ability of someone working to ask for a significant raise. There is that. However, while I was still working I never once received a COLA. And some years raises were skipped too because "we need to conserve cash". Not that much different from the years with 0% COLA on SS. Mostly when people say this I (possibly falsely?) believe they are talking about a lower income than before they retired claiming financial restraints/poverty. This doesn't always mean a lot either. For instance my " fixed income", which consists of SS and a small non-COLA adjusted pension, is less than half my last salary. That said I saved more than half of that salary so, without changing anything, I still have plenty

I hate food in my bedroom. With the flooring being replaced in most of my home the only place I can sit down is on my bed.
I still hate food in the bedroom but I hate not eating for several days straight even more so here I am...

Baby Daddy was like that. He stopped filing taxes too so I wouldn't get the return. The IRS must have threatened him because one year he filed 3 or 4 tax returns. I got the money because he owed me something like $13K in arrears at the time. I also coincidentally got a brick through my windshield. Wonder who did that... Then punk ass men wonder why they end up alone with children that don't talk to them. Well my punk ass ex-husband has a wife now that co-signs the bullshit he says about his child support, even though she wasn’t around when he wasn’t paying it. Her daughters don’t even really like her that much. According to DD, one time when they were spouting all of that BS, one of HER daughters said that what they were saying didn’t make sense, because if he was ranting about his tax refunds being intercepted, that had to mean that he wasn’t paying his child support. When he married his 2nd wife (the current one is his 3rd, I was his first wife), I started having a lot of problems with my child support case. So much so that I suspected that he or his wife must have known someone that worked there, and I ended up contacting a local politician’s office for help with my case because what was happening was making no sense. That politician’s office did look into things, and help me get the issues at that time resolve. But after DD graduated HS and DS was still in high school, I started having problems with the case again, even though he had not been paying his court ordered support. I got a letter again, saying that they were closing my case, because I was not compliant, even though I had not received anything saying I needed to do something or be somewhere at a certain time and date. By then, he owed $10’s of thousands of dollars in child support, because the original order was for almost $500/month and he didn’t pay it. Then he went back to court some years later, and told some lies to reduce it to less than $150/month, which he didn’t pay either. Per our divorce decree, he was responsible for keeping health insurance on our children, which he never did, and he was also responsible for their medical bills, which he never paid, and I ended up filing BK, after they both had some serious medical issues that wrecked my finances. Way back when, I was allowed to submit proof to the court that I carried health insurance for the children myself, because he never did even though he was supposed to, and show how much it cost me. But I would’ve had to take him to civil court regarding the medical bills he was supposed to be responsible for and wouldn’t help me with. So when I got the letter again saying they were closing the child support case, I had been through hell dealing with my children’s medical issues and the aftermath, so I was just tired of all the BS and my youngest child, DS, was about to graduate from high school, so I said fuck it, and did not bother with it anymore. So if him and his wife want to talk about the child support, the FACT is that he only paid a fraction of what he owed, and what I did receive, was because they started intercepting his tax refunds because he was in arrears. If I was persistent about getting what he owed and was supposed to pay, I could still be getting paychecks garnished, licenses revoked, and income tax refunds intercepted TODAY. But I’M the bad guy lol. Heck, since you have documented proof that he did not pay court ordered child support you could even garnish (part of) his Social Security. That idiot better start shutting up

Well, what made them think they would be safe from the grifter. By its very nature a grifter HAS to grift, especially if all the money you raise goes toward (not) paying the defense lawyers in your civil and criminal court cases

DAMMIT! It seems like the T’s will be separating soon. I understand that people have to do what is best for them, and there are often good reasons for it, but that doesn’t mean I like it when marriages between 2 decent people come to an end and families break up….. if that makes sense. That makes 100% sense. I want a happily ever after for everyone even though my own marriage didn't have that. I just focus on the times that were good and the rest can stay in the past

Enjoying the last 15 minutes or so of quiet before the contractors come to install new flooring. It is going to be LOUD! And it will last for the rest of the week. At least I can bring the noise level down a couple of decibel by just taking my hearing aids out LOL.

Have you seen one of those "hoarder" episodes on tv? You know where they only have a small path through the house and the rest is stacked wall to wall up to the ceiling? Well, I can guarantee you that won't be me . This morning I almost fled my bedroom because all the stuff in it (and it is far, far less than the hoarders thing) almost caused me an anxiety attack! More will go in there today though most remaining stuff will go to the guest room. Good thing, while I have not done a real first passthrough I have thrown out quite a few things and then there was yesterdays Goodwill run. All things I won't have to put back. Did I mention my cleaning lady comes next Monday? So the time pressure to put most things back in place is almost just as great... I am so like this! I try my best to keep the main kitchen counter, which is actually part of a peninsula, clear of clutter. It's a dumping ground after work and if I don't keep it addressed, by the time I am mid-prepping dinner and setting up plates to dish up, I am shoving things aside with frustration. First world problems, for sure. I told my sister this morning, with the way everything is stacked up in the bedrooms and one bathroom, if there is an EQ right now I'll just throw a match into it and walk away. I am so tired and my back is killing me.

I have been debating about sharing my child in car crash story since it resulted in me earning the mom of the century, nay make that millennium, award. It was either '98 or '99 and some details are fuzzy by now. DS1 and his buddy had decided they would drive from Spokane to somewhere in Arizona, possibly Tuscon to attend a sweet sixteen game between Gonzaga and Arizona. We had talked on the phone before they drove back and I told him to call me when he got to Spokane. Phone rings at 5am and my reaction before picking up was very funny DS1 telling mom she is way too protective. With that mindset I pick up the phone and said "so you are home now". DS1 - no mom we were in an accident and I am at a hospital. DRUM ROLL - my great moment - ha, ha very funny. Do you know what time it is? Turns out they had been in an accident: flipped and rolled his little Ford Ranger multiple times when his friend, who was driving, hit a spot of black ice. The photos DS1 send me later, which I destroyed asap, would make anyone wonder how they came out alive. Even the first responders thought there was no way. As it was his friend was the one getting checked and had a slight whiplash and DS1 had a seat belt burn. That was it!!! But no throwing on clothes, running out the door or anything for me. I laughed ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/doh.gif) as I said - mom of the millenium... Spokane, the capital of black ice. That's what my friends who moved there and still live there call it. They moved from Des Moines to Spokane so they were very well versed in driving in snow. Not so much the black ice. I believe they were in Idaho when it happened. Friend was driving DS1 was asleep. Not even his glasses were damaged. A fireman found them somewhere in the pickup. Something or someone was watching over those two that night

Can you take sinus meds? That and sleep are the only things that help me. I have to get on an airplane for some training for my side gig in a couple of weeks. My ears do not do well with planes, even when my sinuses aren’t causing all of these problems. They hurt like hell on landing and for some time after. Like, excruciating kind of hurt. So if things don’t improve soon, I’m going to go to the doctor for help. My ears are already hurting off and on, I can’t imagine the pain if I got on an airplane in my current condition. I'm lucky in that my ears do fine when I chew gum and pop my ears occasionally during landing and take off. I'm only mentioning that because there are earplugs on the market that reduce (eliminate?) the pain caused by the air pressure differential. I have never tried those since I don't need them but maybe someone else here has and can advise you on them?

I'm getting my caudal injections this coming Friday, and I'm scared. They're supposed to be very painful, even more so than the foraminal injections I got last year. Worst pain I ever felt, with no anaesthetic.

Another one who knows bupkes about stocks here but I am lost in the math here. They claim the orange paint addict's stake is 114.8M shares of which he currently owns 78.25M. The rest is based on performance based measures? What performance? Losing less than $58M, losing more just to prove it can be done? Are/is they/he anticipating selling shares he doesn't even have? Is he shorting his own shares? I'm so confused.

I was up this morning when Mister was getting ready for work. When I went in the kitchen I asked him why he didn’t clean the kitchen when he was off work. He said because I don’t like the way he loads the dishwasher. I said, so you think I like all of this shit being piled up and left for me to deal with?! When he got home with Kiddo Friday evening, I told him and Kiddo they need to take the Christmas tree down this weekend. Yes, there is a Christmas tree still up in my living room, in April. Mister and Kiddo put it up because the girls wanted Mister to put it up for Kiddo. Mister and Kiddo can take it back down. I’ve waited a few weeks to see what he was going to do after I went back to work, whether he was going to start helping with the housekeeping. He doesn’t even cook anymore, so me doing more of the cleaning because he does most of the cooking, isn’t a thing anymore. This is something I’m willing to fight with him about if I have to, so here we go. Well, load the dishwasher, turn it on, empty it out and put dishes away - problem solved! If there is nothing left in the dishwasher he won't hear you complain about loading it differently from how you do it. It's called logical thinking about the complete process and mister should engage in it every once in a while. The man should consider himself lucky you, not I, are his partner...
