LOL, Drama, why don't you take a few pairs of those scented gloves while you're at it too... I'd like to take some of the nitrous oxide. ;D ;D ;D. Unfortunately they don't have sample sizes and the tank is a bit large....

I just wait till the dental assistant leaves and I take all the free toothbrushes from their stockpile. LMAO - I have a dental apt at 1 today. You just planted an idea in my head. If I get caught will you come bail me out? I will plead a YM defense

Just tell them that some lady with a big binder took all the toothbrushes. You gave her a dirty look, but somehow, she didn't relent and hand you the toothbrushes that you don't need.

You know, I think all of the silly reality shows have us all assuming she's a hoarder, when perhaps she's an entrepreneur.
If you buy a bunch of crap from CVS for pennies and can re-sell it for dollars, of course you want to gather as much stock as possible.
Yep, I think you're going to continue to see a shart decline in these discount + coupon programs at pharmacies.

Plus I want to know where you get coupons for weapons. Well, you don't get coupons for weapons. You get coupons for vitamin water, tootsie roll pops, TP, and toothpaste. Then you take the money you saved getting that stuff for free and use it to buy your weapons.

sorta totally unrelated to this - but are these 'rules' that are being tossed around what keeps someone from eating the last cookie, drinking the last bit of milk, and if the printer is low on paper moving one's print job to another printer?
Personally, I feel that if someone wants to buy all 10 of whatever sale product is on the shelf and they are in NO WAY obligated to leave a couple on the shelf as act of courtesy for the next shopper who comes along. If there were 2 products left on the shelf is the next person who needs 2 (or more) obligated to only purchase one? What if there's one product left - does it become 'untouchable' because some future person may need it more than you do and taking it would make you immoral?? Gosh darn it - if there are 5 cookies left and you want to eat 5 cookies - just eat the 5 cookies!!! don't leave 1 lingering behind.
FWIW: When the sale items are cleaned off the shelf when I get to the store I'm more annoyed at the store that didn't provide more product not at the people who got there before me.

Hasn't McGyver taught you anything, you're supposed to use the free toothpaste, floss, mouthrinse, toilet paper to create bombs that will blow up the zombies... ;D

FWIW: When the sale items are cleaned off the shelf when I get to the store I'm more annoyed at the store that didn't provide more product not at the people who got there before me. Atsia, I think the idea is more about being courteous than an actual "rule". In my mind, the idea is that I don't take stuff I don't need if someone else can use it. If I only need 2 items but take all 10, the next person can't have any. I didn't need the extra 8 so it is not very courteous. If you want the cookies or the last bit of milk, then take away. If you are going to take it and hoard it in your desk, it is rude and selfish. I have known people that would do that- take all of something just because it was "free" knowing that they probably wouldn't use it (In the case of food, they would keep it around for awhile and eventually throw it away because they didn't need it in the first place). I think what makes it worse is when the item is free and there is a limited supply. All of the amount that you hoard, means that someone else won't get some. If it a zero sum game like that (where one person gets it and the others don't), it is selfish to take and deprive others. If it isn't a zero sum game and the stores will just get more at the same price, take away...,

On the coupon site that I belong to, HotCouponWorld, a lot of people sell their extras at garage sales, etc. For them, it's a way to make money. As others have said, they are "entrepreneurs." Do you think Walmart buys less at a discount so their competitors have stock? I am not a hoarder. I don't sell. I don't even buy enough any longer to donate although I did have way too much shampoo a couple of years ago. I do have a "stockpile" in the basement. It is mostly toilet paper, paper plates, and ziplocs. I do have an AWESOME battery drawer, though. That's thanks to CVS a couple of years ago and then Staples last year. Most veteran couponers have control of themselves. They don't buy to donate although that is a noble aim. They buy to replenish what they need and not much more. "Living off your stockpile" is a mantra.

The only time I get mad is mostly at the store. I wish more stores would impose limits on the big sale items. If they put something on sale so that it is a screaming deal, and they know they can't stock much more than they would have if it wasn't on sale, then why not just limit the amounts people can buy getting the sale price? It would solve a multitude of problems. To the person who was cleaning out the shelves of Prep H at CVS last week, I sure am glad I don't have your problems.

Maybe your argument should be with the store for not limiting the number of sale items that can be purchased with every visit. Perhaps the EC's would find some way around this by bringing family members to make lots of "visits" though.

Most stores here don't put out many on specials and they clear out quickly. Most of the stuff I'm not interested in anyway but I would likely be upset if I saw it all cleaned out all the time and I needed it. There just isn't much I buy that goes on sale. I don't buy prepared foods or very little of it. I cook most from scratch. And I use only a few brand name items. Caress or Dove soap and I generally buy at Sam's. All Allergy free laundry detergent, and Snuggle fabric softener because its the least expensive. Dishwasher liquid or capsules usually Cascade and again from Sam's. Meat market for meats anymore and the seafood market for seafoods. I rarely buy chicken as its factory raised and I find that sickening, on occasion chicken breasts to can or bake. I am raising my own chickens again and veggies. Have canned this year green beans tomatoes green tomatoes tomato juice pickled beets bread and butter pickles pickled banana peppers relish tuna chicken seasoned tomato sauce potatoes meatballs seasoned ground beef freezing corn have 30 1 and a 1/2 pints up so far We raised all the veggies. I still have some potatoes stored won't last to much longer and onions also, all from the garden. Still getting cukes, tomatoes, and bell peppers from our garden, but the heat is killing it. Have 20 chickens I will put in the freezer and keep 4 for eggs. Will make chicken broth from some of the odd pieces. I buy some bread but have on hand 50 pounds of prairie red GMO free wheat to make flour. I keep at least 10 pounds of sugar on hand also. Buy Hodgsons white wheat flour for muffins, cakes, and white bread So I don't buy much that is on sale anyway. Again I will get a package of toothpaste and mouthwash at Sam's also. And a Partridge in a Pear Tree

A lot of the people who buy up all the sale stuff in the store are actually reselling the items. I live in the Northeast, and there are a lot of flea markets. You ALWAYS see multiple vendors with tables full of stuff you know they bought at CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens. For example, Walgreens has been running a deal on Gillette ProFusion Razors for the last few weeks that makes it 89 cents for the $12.99 razor, and I saw these selling for half that at the flea market.
CVS and Rite Aid usually limited in the amount you can buy, so that means they either have everyone in their family buying products for them, or more likely, they have multiple cards under different names, and just drive around to different stores.

There are many sites that will help you out. frugalsuz.blogspot.com is one of my favorites. iheartcvs.com is another. midwestern, I was putting together a similar scenario and here it goes. Excedrin PM or Migraine (8 ct) 2*0.99 - get back 1.98 ECB ban invisible solid 2.6 oz 1*2.99 - use 0.75 MQ from 6/5 SS - get back 2$ ECB Oral-B Pulsar Toothbrush 1*6.00 - use 3$ MQ from 6/5 PG - get back 3$ ECB Crest Pro-Health Rinse (1 L) 1*4.50 - use 2$ MQ from 6/5 PG - get back 2.5$ ECB Use the 5$/15 CVS Q , pay 4.72 + tax (or use other ECBs if you have some) and get back 9.48 ECB for next time. HTH What would you get if you already used your coupons to get all these items already this week? I actually got my $5 off $15 coupon on this transaction. It expires today.

Oh and I carry a binder, but only because its easier to keep my coupons organized in neat organized categories. If I am at the grocery store and I see an item that I need on sale, its easy for me to flip to the category, and then to the page with similiar items to see if I have a coupon. The most I may have is 4 of one coupon at any given time.
My stock pile consists of two packs of dial soap, a couple small bottles of liquid laundry, 2 body washes, 2 mouth rinse, 2 toothbrushes, 4 toothpaste (which we use a tube every couple weeks, how i don't know) and 5 razors.

Heh, my stockpile is 4 cans of Illy coffee, 5 boxes of various white pasta (stocked up over a year ago) 2 or 3 bags of bionaturae whole wheat pasta, and 2 mouthwashes. I need to replenish my seltzer stores.
How's that June budget coming?

Yep, I think you're going to continue to see a shart decline in these discount + coupon programs at pharmacies. sil: I totally agree with you. I have been shopping the drug chains for 4-5 years (ever since Walgreens started their RR program). I was able to get a lot of products for absolutely free. I paid absolutely nothing out of pocket including sales tax. I would have been a fool to pass that up. I knew the drug chain "gravy train" wouldn't last forever, so, yes, I have stocked up on the non-perishables that we use regularly and now with the economy being "in the tank" I am so glad that I did.

Last week, I had this issue and so I bought the schick hydro razor (it's on b1g1F sale) and you can use 2 3$ Qs from FB to bring the cost down. Blink tears or Complete solution or sunscreen is another option. Some people just buy soda or milk or anything that they may need. Sometimes I just let these kind of Qs go, since I do not have time or do not need anything that week. There will always be another of those Qs soon enough.

Generally, chain retail outlets do not put out specific promotions for specific stores. CVS management and Prep H management struck a deal about some ad promo/coupon or special pricing, and Prep H paid for a portion of it. They did it because CVS has 5000 stores (or whatever) - the CVS management doesn't go into that agreement and say "Selling Prep H near the beach is weird, so we are going to exclude 10 stores from this deal."
Now, what does happen on an individual store level is the amount of product they get from the mixing center. So, the CVS by the beach has a lot more Sunscreen and beach toys, and other CVS stores might not carry any beach toys. They just order zero. They are also allowed to that product on a store-only "special" aka clearance, when they are overstocked. Those aren't nationally managed programs, but the Prep H one is.

Maybe she got ticked off because we called her a hypocrite, and she kept giving us dirty looks, but we couldn't see them, so she bailed.
