Me and my 57 karma will take you and your ill-gotten 59 karma on anyday! #lionroar# Incidentally. New feature: a table of all icons can be found when posting new threads/replies. Look for it next to the (old hat) icon dropdown.

Look for it next to the (old hat) icon dropdown. Once again, you're trying to overcompensate for your undersized karma....so sad

hey ktunes.. i'm ok.. just been working my fingers to the bone training people at work. heck, it's harder doing that, than doing the work myself! lol.... you doing ok??
as for the 'read more' stuff, it's hidden code .. if you quote a short part of a post, i don't think it does it, but if you do all (or the majority) it does.. haven't yet found a way to disable it.. i find it annoying and edit it out, personally..

I see the Smite button has returned. My cult followers who have propelled my karma to an untouchable 202 might have to work some overtime.

You had a karma of 69 just now. I "Smited" you and now you have 68. I don't see either button now because of the time rule.

I don't see either button now because of the time rule. it's already been established that anyone who knows a bit about coding can smite someone without an actual button.. so what? does it make you feel powerful to smite me? personally, i couldn't care less about my karma. of course, were i into the same sort of power trip you are, i could go into your profile and take away ALL of your ill gotten karma with one click. HOWEVER, if i hear from others that they are noticing their karma is disappearing, i know JUST who i will assume is behind it (because you just admitted you know how), and i *will* boot you out the cyber door. in other words, burns.. don't F with me or anyone else, because you're already on my short list.

Do you think I have the time to write some stupid code to smite someone? I don't know what to tell you but the button is visible and enabled for me. I can take a clip of a screenshot and post it if you like. I have no idea what the deal is with my karma, maybe someone gets a kick out of me. And if you think your little board is the be all and end all for me then it is you who is on the power trip.

you don't have to write the code.. you just have to know how to use what's already there behind the scenes.
and of course i don't think my board is the "be all and end all" - not for you, or anyone else. not even ME, to be very honest. if someone else created another better one, and everyone left here for there that'd be just fine. i wouldn't even bother to follow, probably.

Oh, I get it. Alright, for some reason the button is not visible at this location. It was certainly there at my office and I didn't rig the page in order to see it. So not sure if there is a glitch somewhere but I don't use dumb little gadgets like that anyway, except maybe for Mr. ed1066 the odd time.

I don't know anything about coding, or much about computers period, but I also see the smite button when I click on someone's name. It doesn't appear when I'm reading messages, just when I look at a specific name and it doesn't happen every time, but it does happen quite often.

LOL at POM's Karma of-42,580. If that were in the measurement of feet, it would be deeper even than the Mariana Trench, the lowest elevation of the surface of the Earth's crust.

Moonbeam I had an idea for a thread that might be useful, but since it has not been done before I thought it might violate Proboards policy or COC. So I will ask first.
For sale by owner. Was thinking real estate, but it could be cars, coins, antiques or collectible.

hampton-the way you described it above was how deleted posts were handled initially. But it was decided to leave a place marker that a post was once there as other posts often times referenced a particular post # that may have occurred after your original post. This screwed up posts referencing other post #s (as you note it would go back 1). The system will note a deleted post. What you might request is the user's name be deleted out of the post along with the deleted message yet still leave a place marker. I do not know if that is possible. Moonbeam might look into to see if it is possible along with deciding whether or not the poster's name should be removed in the first place. Tennesseer/Moderator now I understand - Thanks and Happy New Year Tennesseer!!

I would wish for: * A lot more civility from some of the "boys" in "Market Talk"; I expect debates on the subjects of politics, religion, sexual mores to get pretty heated, but in MARKET TALK * that people would attack ideas they disagree with instead of a particular person* that threads started by anyone with the intent of mocking *any* individual poster or group of posters was immediately deleted * I've seen several people drop the "F" bomb in market talk, most were not "banned" from posting...how bad does it need to get ?? * that a thread featuring scantily clad women was moved to "E.E." ( or the adult area) since it really has no place on the "market talk" board. It's done to be offensive, and it is. ( do you really think this encourages the women on this board to participate in the forum ?) There are people that will never agree on a subject matter. So what? That's what "liberty" is all about. It's interesting and sometimes even informative to read the differing views of others. To ridicule, berate, mock or waste valuable bandwidth board trolling isn't simply disagreeing, it's an attempt to silence opposing viewpoints.

Kate -- PM me with a link to the thread with the scantily clad women, so it can be moved if necessary. Most of the things you've listed here should be addressed with PMs to the mods as they occur.
