Taz, hon, I'm sorry! I guess, as long as you can read and post, it's the best you got during working hours.

Hey Virgil, Know how you had that cool eraser feature on the little participated thingee you had on the old version. Any way to put a similar feature into the current participated system?

Hey Virgil, Know how you had that cool eraser feature on the little participated thingee you had on the old version. Any way to put a similar feature into the current participated system? It would be easy enough to add an erase option, which would instruct the list not to display 'erased' threads. It's problematic in the senses that i) people might assume that threads needed to be erased, and ii) erased threads would remain permanently erased until 30-or-so threads had been erased afterward. We could address ii by also including an 'unerase all' button, which would no doubt be confusing for many people since they might assume it would add every thread they'd ever erased back into the list. Consider it an extremely low priority.

there have been requests on support to offer a 'mark as read' type option for the participated link.. i'd love that myself.

i know.. but a mark as read would still work. you wouldn't have to visit the thread to make the notification go away.

Now my post above yours shows as #1. FWIW, yesterday I was on Chrome at home. Today, I'm at work on IE8. In the end, it's no big deal. I'm just special that way. I've noticed this too. If you use the NEW button to return to a thread you've previously read, the page you return to counts posts beginning at 1. When you advance to the next page, the post counts return to normal. Otherwise, I'm having little trouble in IE8, except for the really slow load times (compared to pre-v5).

Just to let everyone know that Google Chrome has a spell check, that you enable in your Advanced settings under Languages. Plus there is a Chrome Spell Check extension plugin that you can get. Here's the link to it -->> Spell Checker For Chrome

How do I either get rid of the annoying clock on the homepage or at least change the setting to my correct time zone?

You can't remove or change it, I'm afraid. I had the four major ones on there so everyone would see their own zone, but sometimes all of that was slowing the page loading. so i left just the EST. it's not my time zone either but i am very used to converting from one zone to another so it doesn't bother me.

Blonde Granny - ok .. what about what's up there now? One of the staff members on support mentioned this is what he uses.. Just a simple script. However, it doesn't auto refresh the clock. it will only update when you refresh the page.

That works for me Moon. I can now see my own time zone's correct time in black text directly below the box containing the EST reading - before that, I just mentally did the conversion (add/subtract # of hours difference from EST)

Yeah, i put back the other because it auto updates. if i can find another script that does the same, then i'll use that.

Doesn't your monitor display a current time clock on it already anyway? (Mine's in the lower right-hand corner of my monitor - always has had one there) I can just glance down and there it is.

A Notification if someone likes your post.
A Notification if someone quotes your post.
Why No Notification if someone deletes your post?
It would also be nice if the deleter quoted said post so they could be quoted back for questions and know there is a question. TYIA

Each mod has a 'deleted posts' thread where we copy the post before it gets removed from the board. so, if you have a question, you may PM the mod who did the deletion and ask them. However, if you haven't noticed, quotes of posts that are deleted are *also* deleted. otherwise, it negates the point of the post being deleted in the first place. typically, if a post is deleted, the person deleting will also leave a note as to why it was removed, too.

No clue where this goes. In my messages under ACTIONS is something called LABELS with an arrow to MANAGE LABELS. Now when I click on that I'm brought to and a button that says CREATE NEW LABEL. What's all this for ?

easily sorting your PMs. you can make a mod label. a POM label. a moon label. whatever you like. then, if you were trying to find a specific one, you could choose to view only those PMs in your inbox to make it easier to search.

If I didn't have a life, of sorts, I would say...actually I will say, this place sucks.
What, did they get a bunch of guys from India to write the code??
Cheap is what you get

Well, you didn't say exactly what you have a problem with RnB - so are you complaining about Proboards in general, or this particular board?
Try some of the other forums out there. They don't have near as many added tweaks and features that this one does - thanks to the hard work of Moonbeam and Virgil.
Of course, if you're not happy here.... we're not the only game in town.

Spellcheck won't be back as a button here anymore, but mmhmm left a link for installing spellcheck - it's called Speckie - I installed it for myself and it was up & running within seconds. Her post is the last one on page 50 of this thread.
Here's a quick link to the page:notmsnmoney.proboards.com/thread/757/list?page=50#

Question: How come my Kindle doesn't play nice with the PB website? I haven't found an app to download (I did look) and when I try to post from the web, the Kindle (it's a Fire, non HD) will not cooperate. It will delete some words as I'm trying to type them. Not hard words, simple every day words. I'll be mid word with my typing and POOF, it's gone. Trying to think of ways around to say what I'm trying to say sucks. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Just shoot it?
