CL, I'm on my kindle fire right now. But as I'm writing this, I'm not experiencing any of the problems you describe. Mine is not an HD either. Not sure what would be causing it.

I guess my Kindle hates PB.  It's the only site it does that on. I can type on Facebook or write an email. Just this site makes it mad. I have a hard enough time getting what I want to say out in the right form and order without it making think around a word. I can only come up so many alternate terms before I go blank. lol

incidentally, i initially spelled welcome incorrectly (wilcome) and found that it's not picking up anything beyond my default bbcode font stuff. [font face="georgia"][font size="3"][font color="ae09e2"]. It hits on the fact that georgia is lowercase instead of capitalized, and it doesn't recognize my html color code. But it 'sees' nothing other than that. so i don't know if some other plugin we have is interfering with it or what. perhaps it doesn't play nice if you use bbcode as your default, as i do. i can't even get it to work using visual.

let me know if you have the same experience.

Steve, the best way to do this that i can think of is to start the initial thread and then bookmark it so you can easily find it the next time you want to ask a question. you could call it 'Steve's Random Questions Thread' or whatever so people would know it's not about one specific topic.

I don't know for sure, but I think those two might be too big - it would mean having to remove several of the 'regular' current ones. By looking at the smiley box, there's possibly only room for 1 more large one (where the chocolates and "you rock" emots are located. I don't know that these two would actually get used that often.

Best to save the links for them so you can use them "as needed".

I saved them for me, but some peeps love that first one, the electric chair one. Yanno what they would love to do to their boss and coworkers. In-laws also fit in.

they have a plugin called "Personal Smilies", which would allow each user 25 of their own personal favorite smilies, but it won't work here. it relies on another plugin to put the UBBC buttons above the quick reply like you see here. I did have it installed at one point, but virgil removed it and replaced it with his own.

It's been debated for a while, SVT. The problem is that when posters had this ability, people were setting up a lot of inappropriate poll questions. Not just about inappropriate topics, but often about other posters. Admin figured it was a reasonable precaution to have posters ask permission to set up polls via PM.

I'll start a mod discussion on this post and we'll revisit the issue. Personally I like the ability to create polls. I don't see our official position on them changing, but it can't hurt to reexamine the issue.

We'll keep you apprised.

SVT: Even after a bit of discussion, it's clear that opening up polls will create too many problems. There was a litany of abuses when people had the ability before.

You can still create a poll, you just have to ask (and get permission from) a mod to do it. It's a quick PM and it shouldn't be too much of an imposition.

Alright... So besides Virgil, something I have wished for (although it's not a big deal to not have it), is Back to Top in PM.

It's just a little wish. No biggie.

I'm also wondering why, after changing the color of the words Back to Top to this color, it wants to stay this color? Even though I have changed it a few times, back to black, here I am in light blue.
I use Firefox if that helps. I always have, but have never had this problem.

I can highlight what I write, then change the color to black. But it still resorts back to blue.

-I can certainly think of worse things!

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to explain there, but do you save all changes you do in your Profile if you make a setting change of any kind (colored text etc)? It won't change if you don't click "Save Changes" at the bottom of your profile page when you're done.

My question is why does my bookmarks still show 1 hasn't been read, even though all my bookmarks threads have been read? It's been like that for a week or 2. No big deal. Just curious.

If you have the little "speech bubble" above "Bookmarks" at the top of your screen, taz, try clicking directly on that.  If it's still there when you refresh the page, click on it again.  See if that helps.  Sometimes, one may have gotten overlooked and "stuck" in the queue.  I've been able to get rid of those by clicking on the little "bubble" several times.

i'm not sure if i can add the 'back to the top' to PMs. I will see when i get off from work. as for why your post is staying blue when you set it back to black, it's a glitch with the coding. here's what your post looks like with all the bbcode showing. there are a lot of extras that don't belong. See all the random font color references?

-I want to remove Malware Defender from another computer, I was given.  It can't be deleted from ad/remove programs in windows xp, if anyone has a suggestion. It just keeps popping up and is a PIA!

TMR, i've added a new plugin(versus the code i have already) to add a "to the top/bottom" arrow on the right side of the page. . It should display everywhere.

I read through it quickly, Sugi.  It should work but will require the installation of Malwarebytes (free), which everyone should have anyway, IMO.  Once the steps are followed and Malwarebytes is run, the problem should go "poof".

Hopefully I will be able to download the Malware bytes. The other day, it took hours, just to bring the internet up, cuz of this stupid thing! It opens a screen again almost instantly, after closing it. And it says you are infected, when you're not.
I hate programs like this! In my opinion, I'm infected by the program telling me , I'm infected! Things like this should be illegal or something. Ugh.
