Birthdays are also no longer displayed on the calendar. Is that now history with V5?

seems like it may be.. BUT you can go to the member list and click the dropdown on the left and select View Birthdays..

the visual tab (in full reply) IS your preview.. what you see is what you get. virgil was trying to make the quick reply basically like the full reply - with both bbcode and visual tabs- but it broke quick reply entirely.. so it needs to be tweaked..

Hmmm- that doesn't seem to be working. When it finally did finish cycling - the list that came up only had the names of new members - it wasn't a "Birthdays Today"  list.

hmm.. i think i got different results than you did. I got 6 names, 2 of which i deleted as the accounts were inactive. that left

Hahaha - I was just going to reply when I see you're already here - I had a "blonde moment". I realized that when I went back and double checked - if I click on one of the names it shows that today's their birthday - color me blonde.

My requests:

The black type needs to be bolder and thicker. It is hard to read for someone with not so great reading eyes.
Also, i liked the lines and boxes around each individual thread. It made it very easy to scroll and view threads.
And, the scrolling here seems very jerky and hard to scroll up and down to the right place.

Just my suggestions.

Shooby, I can make the whole forum font bigger, but if i did, i have to make lots of other adjustments as well because then nothing will fit if i don't. the best thing to do is change your zoom level through your browser settings.

Also, i don't know what skin you're using but all of mine have lines separating each thread.

the jerky scrolling i can't do anything about. that could be your processor and/or memory .

I don't have a problem with jerky scrolling, so it may be something you can fix on your side, shoobs.

Definitly I miss the "spell check" feature...and if emotions are being mentioned., I also miss the coffee / newspaper one..feel it gets right to the point for which it's used...

Try updating your browser, Dezi. Most browsers have built-in spellcheck so it's not needed here on the site.

I just want to say that I have Chrome as my browser and I put my zoom at 90%. It made this Board look somewhat like it did before the Update.

I thought I had the coffee dude in there too.. ugh. I hate when I do that. I have somewhat tried to group the smileys by size and (loosely) by type. so everytime i add a new one in there, i have to re-number the list from that point onward.

re-number? are the smileys coded that differently from the old version? ugh. I was coming in here to ask if we could get the names for all of them in the list instead of some of the numbered ones - like for example. I'm so used to just typing out the name in between the ## (yes, now :: :: )

the smileys are coded differently temporarily because it's not Virgil's widget. it's a stand in until he can convert his. they're in an array, like this.

ah, gotcha. yeah, I noticed that the mechanism for the smileys was the same as over on Icey's board and not Virgil's ALT-number quick keys. no worries then, if it's just temporary.

I wish that when I click on a smily that the screen with all of them disappeared. It seems like it did in the old version and so I was sure that I had successfully added it. Now the screen hides the box and I am unsure it was added.

i wish that too, but not sure if it can be done with todge's system. but todge's is temporary until virgil is done w/his.
