i don't recall seeing any hacks for that in my wanderings but i'll look . i know if you are the one doing the quoting you can make it larger by adding the code for it. the standard size is 2, but if you do something like this (minus the *) it should be better..

Scottish, i did go to the proboards support forum and found this.. i'm not sure how much it will help, because it would require remember to do a keystroke sequence when you see the ad. But this is what they say:

while this ad doesn't technically violate their rules, it is definitely a problem for the reason you stated.

hmmm... I've had an ad automatically play audio... now that I know this is not in accordance to regs, I'll definitely report it if it comes up again. Thanks!

Moonbeam, is there any way to indicate which threads I have posted on previously? Sometimes I'll post to a thread, then when it gets new posts, etc I forget which thread it was and then forget to followup to see what the other replies are... I know that I can see my past several posts through my profile... but just wondering if there could be a check mark by the thread title if you post on it... or something... But then again, I may be the only person who can't remember where I've posted and it could be an extraneous feature that most don't care for.

i believe, rose, that if you are using the full reply (rather than quick reply), there is a box you can check to 'bookmark' the thread.. otherwise, you can also view your recent posts by going into your profile.

**edited to add that i just bookmarked this thread, and i now see a link to it in my profile under bookmarks.

when you no longer want it bookmarked, just uncheck the box.

Hey Moon...got a shock when i opened my private e mail account..all these heads up from here..I thought I had inadvertently had put up my own E mail account and thought all my friends had come over to say "Hey ", , , and no Mods to help out...till I opened one up, tentatively by the way, {phew}..all OK now..actually funny though I was shaking a bit.

no one here should be able to see your personal email address other than admins though .. unless you didn't set it to hidden... and to me it goes without saying that emails are not to be sent without express permission.

uncle, look on the bottom of the page to the left of where it used to be.. it's been replaced with a navigation tree like on top..

It's fortunately not much of a concern for me anymore...The ad is still there, but I find that if I quickly scroll down the page a couple of inches it's soon out of my line of vision.
