Just a quick check-in . . .

I think I have now gathered all paperwork and documents needed to drop our taxes off at the CPA's office except one. He can't e-file for us until the end of the month, anyway, but I'd like that last statement. (My wonderful DH gets his W-2 online as of Jan 8)

I've been busy decluttering and organizing. Painters come Tuesday to re-texture and repaint (white) the kitchen ceiling. (We changed light fixtures, necessitating this.) We're also going to swap out kitchen faucets, for a nice upgrade/update. The same painters are also going to paint our laundry room closet (which is currently covered with striped contact paper ... the original owners loved wallpaper, etc.) We've already installed a nifty new light fixture in the laundry room, and we've replaced the laundry sink.

Weather's been nice ... 30s to 40s at night, 50s to 60s in the daytime, most of the time. Some rain.

Nice having my wonderful DH home from Afghanistan.

We had sunshine today ~ I sat outside in it for a while. Sunny and 65 forecast for tomorrow! Mid-60s is my favorite weather

Delay with painting ... painter had angioplasty/stints put in, so it's now rescheduled for Feb 19.

Looks like my wonderful DH heads to Texas for 3 weeks at the end of the month. I am a bit bummed ... he will be gone for Valentine's Day.

Aww. Sorry about the Valentine's Day bust. He'll be home soon after, though, so you can just have a belated Valentine's Day date!

We had gorgeous weather on Mon thru Wed and this morning was freaking awful. Took me a good hour to warm up once I got to the hospital. I need spring.

We're still in a drought and can use rain, but it's been pretty dry here. Today's forecast is 62 and sunny. Tomorrow's forecast is 65 and mostly sunny. I may go get my 15 minutes of Vitamin D!

There's a hawk in my front tree, and he is scaring off all of the finchies.

We're supposed to get to 70 on Mon/Tues. Going roller skating with the DW on Mon. in Branson.  Oh Yeah, the cat (Gomer) will like the warm-up too.  Maybe he'll get out of his bed on the front porch and go kill some rodents by the chicken yard.

We're forecast for 68 today and 66 tomorrow. A bit warmer than our usual mid-50s for January.

When I wake up to a clear azure sky and bright sunshine in the winter, I get scared. That means it's probably really, really cold.

I make sure on most days that I get out and do some walking. Gotta get out a inhale some fresh air.

LOL, welts!  Fortunately, that's only partially true here.  In the winter, a crystal clear day will be colder, to be sure; however, we just don't see the cold you do!  For that, I'm grateful!

It all has to do do with the amount of humidity in the air. A grey sky usually means seasonal weather, with maybe snow or rain.
A pink sky means LOTS of snow. It's very pretty but you know it's going to hurt.
A clear blue sky usually means "freeze your ass off and burst water pipes" kind of temps.

Don't forget the green sky.  That's the one that tells you the tornado you've been hearing about is about to make a visit up close and personal.

Thankfully, I've never seen a green sky, except if you count the Aurora Borealis.

I've never seen the Aurora Borealis, except in pictures.  It's on my bucket list!

The sky I'm talking about is a sickly green, and it's so quiet you could hear a pin drop.  Downright creepy!

I saw the Southern Lights; they were pretty nifty. Would like to see the Northern Lights.

Our 10-day forecast has highs ranging from 55-70. I do anticipate some fog and clouds in there, too ... and overnights in the 30s and 40s.

I currently have a brown tabby named Megan curled up in a heated pet bed, right next to me.... I love that I can reach over and pet her whenever I want. When it's bedtime, I'll be sharing space with a black and white fluffball named Cricket, and orange girl named Emily, and an orange Maine Coon fellow named Tigger. It should be nice and toasty under the covers.

Yep, pretty crazy. Lots of snow all at once. I have 3-5ft drifts. My car disappeared in the driveway!

Well I shoveled out on Friday night and I see that all the walkways are completely cleared. So the snow is on the lawns and not on the walkway or sidewalk. SWEET.
