I have been MIA. Not doing well. Caught Covid and still do not have energy. Hoping my sister and I will get back into the habit of a walk at least once a week. Not going to hit my step goal for the year. Oh well. Hoping i can finish the year strong. I’m so sorry about the Covid. Covid sucks!

I reviewed my weight loss tracker this morning. I've lost 15.4 pounds this year. Still more to go. Baby steps!

Not making much headway. PT for knee has shown me how out of shape I am. I was good about taking 5 minute breaks every hour (WFH) to get on the bike or do some squats. Lost track of that with DH's foot surgery.
I need to put shoes when I dress in the morning and not rely on slippers.

They provide stability and cushion on my hard, slippery tile floors and stairs.

I've reached the age that I'll have to wear some type of shoe if I'm doing a lot of physical chores. I'll wear my Birkenstocks or my Keens, ubt lately I've hbeen having to wear actual tennishoes to keep my legs from being atrociously painful by the middle of the day.

I've been struggling with health stuff as well. I'm in a flare with my IBD. The new meds my doc's office prescribed are just not working. I am told I should not go back on the steroid that works beautifully. Okay then, so what do I do? I hit the bathroom 10, 12 times a day. Four weeks of this now. It's exhausting and I'm afraid to make plans to go anywhere.

I will take imodium when I need to leave home for a few hours. I'll take one the evening before, and then another one that morning. Unfortunately it is not as reliable as it used to be. I'm not sure why? Maybe it's the bile binder my doctor has prescribed?

Good to see you, ners! Just adding the 10-minute treadmill sessions really helped when I was at the concert a week or two ago. Though I don't walk as fast as my sporty friend or my 5'10" long-legged friend, I had the stamina to walk over to the stadium and up and down the stairs. Now I'm training to go on next year's vacation.

The new medication my GI doc prescribed is finally working! They gave me no dosing instructions at all, so I followed what the pharmacist said. And that was totally wrong.
Now that I'm taking colestipol at night, before bed, it is working quite well. I hope I didn't just jinx myself!
I actually felt pretty good today. Went to the store - inside the actual store - and got some groceries. Then I cleaned up the house real quick as my dear SIL decided to drive into town and visit us.
So all in all a good day. I am grateful.

ners Hey ners I have been wanting to ask you how your arm is? I remember reading about your broken arm! In 2015, I slipped on wet grass walking to my car to go home for lunch. I broke my right ankle and needed reconstruction surgery. It gets kind of achy from time to time. But I have a cool scar! Anyway, thinking of you and hope it is not giving you any problems!

It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in. I’m staying the course. My shoulder is still frozen, which is hindering my ability to do certain exercises, but I’m still seeing some definition in my arms . My goal this year was to consistently add in strength training and 9.5 months in, I’ve stuck with it. I still much prefer cardio, but at least I’ve gotten into a good routine here.

Check in greenthumb59 Good memory. Broke arm over 2 years ago. It still aches once in a while. I still do a few exercises. Was not a good week. Hit no goals. The goals are remaining the same. Well this has been a depressing weekend. We went on a 3-day road trip. Which of course meant a lot of sitting/driving, and eating 2 meals that were more calories than normal. That's all it took to get me back to my beginning weight. The only good news is, now that I'm back to my normal exercise routine, it's beginning to come back off. It's depressing to think of how easy it is for me to regain weight.

Good to see you, ners. I am getting back into the groove of exercising after taking a few weeks off. I go in for routine blood work tomorrow, so we'll see.

Hi Kids! I'm back to my usual routine of an hour of exercise each day, and the weight is coming off again slowly. 4 to 8 ounces a day (yes, my scale measures in ounces). Of course I'd like the scale to move down more quickly, but I'll take any success I can get.

I’ve been having troubled sleep for a long time. Awake multiple times at night and often didn’t fall asleep for 3-4 hours . I had a cold and took NyQuil at night and slept so well. I’ve been taking a dose every night now and sleeping so much better with usually 7-8 hours of sleep for the last month I have an Apple Watch for a year so can see my sleep pattern for each night.

Weight was 160.8 this morning. I've only lost weight because I've been in a flare with my microscopic colitis. GRRRRR. I was taking a bile binder, and it worked well until the flare kicked in. I changed the dosage and the timing at my GI's suggestions. And then the flare just took over my life. The bile binder wasn't really doing anything for me.
So I said f**k it and started taking a steroid to calm everything down. I have two trips planned between now and the end of this year. I cannot worry about getting to a toilet in time when we are driving in the middle of nowhere.
This is not a life threatening illness, but it is certainly a life changing illness. Thank goodness the steroid works very well and very quickly.

Ugh! It's been a brutal here. (The election didn't help--stress eating.) The good news is, I'm still exercising my usual amount, but right now exercise alone isn't enough. At least exercise makes me feel better, but for the first time I'm having serious joint pain with the changing of the seasons (I've had hit & miss pains before.) If I don't improve, I'm going to ask my doctor what steps I should be taking to reduce the pain, as I don't want to be living on Tylenol or Advil. Hang in there greenthumb59!

I really try not to whine too much about it. Interestingly enough, my flares are triggered by changes in the season. This also means my osteoarthritis flares up as well. I've developed Heberden's nodes on some of my fingers. It hurts like hell when they are forming. But once they are in place they seldom bother me. I use Voltaren cream on my hands. It does help!

Sorry I have not been checking in. Nothing new to report. Eating too much, not getting enough sleep or exercise.
