Thanks for the shoutout, Chloe! I still try to replace my chocolate ice cream with the chia pudding made with chocolate protein drink but, sometimes, I just really want the ice cream. I guess, sometimes is better than none of the times, right?! Good luck to all of us on the journey to better and healthier lives!

Knee Deep in Water Chloe without going into too much detail, recently a professional suggested to me I do a bit of journaling, and then do something that gets me out of my head (my words, not hers), whether it be exercise, listen to my beloved really loud music, etc. The reason for this is the thing I am struggling with likes to interrupt my day (Mother's Day was a struggle). When I start to think about it during the day, I'm to put those thoughts aside until I can address them.

My March 19th weight was 173.0. My April 22 weight was 178.0. My May 1 weight was 178.2. My May 14 weight is 179.5.
Frustrated about the weight. I'm in the middle of a mental health crisis recovery though, so I'm trying to be patient with myself.
I have three medical professionals I'm working with right now. They each tell me that I need to exercise every day in some fashion. Ugh--why do I fight that? It seems so simple, and I do always feel better when I've done a work out. I always feel better after rolling out my back with the foam roller but getting myself to do it can somehow be really hard. I don’t understand it either, except for the fact that it’s a bit uncomfortable. Hope we can figure out how to stop sabotaging ourselves out of something that’s good for us. Inertia in my case and just feeling tired a lot.

Been traveling the last few days. We always eat way too much when we visit DS1 and his lovely wife. Weight was 162.4 which I didn't think was too bad.
Unfortunately we came home to the news that our family member who went into hospice last week has taken a major turn for the worse. We have been gone all day today to their home. My DS1 and lovely wife are actually on their way here now to offer support and love.
I hope our family member passes peacefully. I have to say I am more than impressed with the hospice folks. They have been amazing.

Things are good here. I’m maintaining both fitness and weight which is what I’m ultimately aiming for.
ive been having some shoulder/upper arm pain. I finally went to the doc about a month ago for it, and turns out I have frozen shoulder. Good news, keeping up with my fitness is good for it. Less good news, I have to go to weekly PT for it all summer. I *think* it’s starting to get better. Maybe? It’s not worse anyway, which is all I care about, lol.

Thanks for the nudge, Knee Deep in Water Chloe. I recently spent a week with friends, eating and drinking with reckless abandon. I came back home 3 pounds up. Within two days, I was back at my weight at the restart of WW in January, 141.8 which is 0.8 above goal. Since I'm home now, where there are no meetings close by, I'm on my own for motivation. I need more exercise. And I'm leaving town again, for two weeks. At home, I don't buy alcohol to keep on hand because I'll drink it. Where I'm going, there will be alcohol. But there will be more disciplined eating, so we'll see how it goes.

Another thanks for the nudge! I started the year off great, but things got a bit crazy and I regressed. My eating is not under control, so I keep losing and gaining the same 2 pounds. But on a good note, I started a Couch to 5K program. When I started, I was barely able to run for 3 minutes, and now I’m up to 25 minutes straight! Even though I’m going at a really slow pace, I’m calling that a win. :-)

greenthumb59 sending hugs and love to you and your family. To everyone who needs it caroca excellent progress! Yesterday's exercise was walking Walmart (yes, steps, but it doesn't get my heart rate up), walking the garbage to the can for approximately 180 steps for a heart rate of 97, and my usual floor exercises. Total daily steps were just under 3,000. My initial daily goal is 5,000. I am pleased to say I am sleeping better, however. And less alcohol and an increase in water is helping my sink look better.

Thanks for the reminder! I’m not doing great weight wise- down 3lbs since Jan 1. I have so many reasons/excuses as to why, but just don't feel like typing that much! Let’s get back on track friends! Summer is right around the corner.

Family member did pass on Tuesday; they did not want a service, wanted to be cremated, but left no other instructions.
DH is now responsible for the ashes. By mutual agreement with other family members, DH has also been given the task of deciding what to do with the deceased's things. There isn't much. It's sad - your whole life ends up in a couple of bags.
My DH, who is an alcoholic and was already struggling, has fallen down the rabbit hole. I was afraid this would happen.

I’m not doing great, but I don’t feel horrible about it. I fell off the meal planning wagon and the scale reflects that. I’m still down from the beginning of the year but bouncing up and down in the same 10 pound range. I am weighing myself frequently so at least I’m aware and reining myself in enough to keep from going over that threshold. The fact that we finally have sunshine and the snow has finally melted has helped. I’ve started doing yard work and walking at an outdoor recreation complex. And managed to get my first sunburn of the year.

I'm at DD's helping her with her two little girls. Her DH is out of town.
Her DH is vegetable-averse. DD asked how I felt about doing meals based on the Mediterranean diet. I'm good with that. I love veggies and so does she. We combed through the websites, put together a grocery list, and spent an arm and a leg at the store buying all the foods we needed. We could open up a produce stand right now.
Would it be too much to ask that there be downward movement on the scale?

I'm checking in. I shocked myself by losing another pound, so now I'm down 6. But then, I have been sick, and my appetite is down, so that could be part of the reason.

So, this was sent to my email account by my PCP. I had been working on a time-consuming project, and I hadn't noticed it until yesterday. I'm not sure why this was sent to me...

greenthumb59 I am sorry for your loss. msventoux same here with the sunburn. seriousthistime I also love the Mediterranean diet. The fact DD and you are doing it together sounds fun. I hope you're feeling better, busymom. Interesting timing of the email, Knee Deep in Water Chloe. DH and I went camping over the weekend. I'm sore, sunburned, and insect bitten. It was worth it, though, as we had fun. We went off-roading Saturday and ended the day at a restaurant bar. I kept things in check by eating one stuffed potato skin, a few nachos, three forkfuls of delectable mac and cheese and drinking just 1 fancy cocktail.

I def gain/hold weight when I'm stressed. Make it stop! At least summer fruits and vegetables are readily available. Almost too hot to walk here already not to mention damn cicadas.

Holy carp! The scale went down another pound. Some nights, instead of having a scoop of ice cream on a hot night, I've been eating vanilla yogurt with some fresh fruit mixed in. I wonder if that's what's making a difference?

Made sure to work out today, so that’s good. I use the SWEAT app for circuit training. it told me I’ve worked at least twice a week for 8 consecutive weeks. That was nice to realize.
pinkcashmere or anyone interested. You mentioned you “should” get up and walk in the treadmill before you go to work. I need to work out in the morning too. Wanna check in here when you work out and we can help each other be accountable?

Wanna check in here when you work out and we can help each other be accountable? I got so excited first thing this morning when I saw your invite to be accountability fitness buddies, not sure if that’s the right name for it, but then I realized I wouldn’t go through with it as I don’t with so many things. I’ve been thinking more and more about it and I am not sure why I keep sabotaging myself. I know I am tired and mentally/emotionally drained but it’s all the good stuff that would be healthy and helpful so still don’t understand. I wanted to respond so you know that I saw your post and was hoping to join you but didn’t want to get your hopes up. I am thankful to all of you for posting and celebrate your successes just don’t post often enough as I can’t stick with any “program” I try to devise for myself. I will keep reading here, and keep getting inspiration from all of your efforts as that is so often the case. I have tried some yoga and logged some stationary bike hours over time, and also have few more things percolating on the side so it’s a slow, very slow progress just nothing as consistent as I would like/hope.

I liked the idea of accountability as well but due to time zones and when I go it probably wouldn’t be of much benefit to anyone else as I would likely be posting when it’s evening for most everyone else.
I had my annual blood work and need to make some changes. Last year my cholesterol was approaching the higher range of acceptable, and this year is even worse. No pharmaceutical intervention necessary, but I can see that if I don’t do something it will probably come to that, which I don’t want. My weight was down a bit from last year, but not enough. Since I last posted I’m back to going out for daily walks. I’ve explored a number of new paths and have found a couple that will go into regular rotation. I’m aiming for at least 3 miles daily at any pace. The walks are as much for mental health as they are for physical health. A few times a week I’ll also hop on the treadmill for higher intensity activity.
That’s all I’ve been able to convince myself to do for exercise. I’ve also been more mindful of eating and have been making myself drink a cup of miso soup if I get the snackies. I can still have snacks after if I want them but the urge usually passes by the time I finish the soup. I’ve lost a few pounds since I’ve been doing this. Which just reinforces that I know what to do but struggle to stay consistent.

I get most of my steps done in the evening, but I do try to get in at least 20 minutes before lunch, if I don't have any appointments to distract me. Even walking alone helps with stuff like blood pressure. Ask me how I know. I would like to find out what types of exercises won't mess with my back. I've injured my back more than once when I was younger, and tend to baby it, since recovery time takes longer now.

I’ve done something to my lower back and hip so they’re not happy with me when I try to take long walks. I just decided to catch up the boards and hopped on the stationary bike. I got 1.5 miles in 10 minutes which is good enough for me for now. Good luck to all of us as we wrestle with our desires for better health!

With so much going on at home, I've been MIA. Unfortunately, I've done something to my knee and am not able to move very much. I have an ortho appt in the middle of June, but am seriously considering just going to the ER. If I go that route I'll at least hopefully know what is wrong before seeing the ortho doc. The pain is worse at night so it is messing with my sleep which throws off so many other things. If I bend it in my sleep it walks me up.
