With so much going on at home, I've been MIA. Unfortunately, I've done something to my knee and am not able to move very much. I have an ortho appt in the middle of June, but am seriously considering just going to the ER. If I go that route I'll at least hopefully know what is wrong before seeing the ortho doc. The pain is worse at night so it is messing with my sleep which throws off so many other things. If I bend it in my sleep it walks me up. Sorry to hear about your knee, that sounds horribly painful and waiting makes it just excruciating. Hope you can find out soon what’s wrong and get a clear path to recovery. Any chance of getting on the cancellation list at the ortho? Good luck, daisylu!

Went to ER when I injured my knee. Just x rayed and gave me Tylenol and see an ortho - nothing broken Waste of time and painful to get there I had torn meniscus in knee. Need an MRI but not done in ER Yeah, I likely need an MRI but getting one around here takes forever. An ER trip speeds it up. MRI s aren’t done in ER s here, check before you go

Made sure to work out today, so that’s good. I use the SWEAT app for circuit training. it told me I’ve worked at least twice a week for 8 consecutive weeks. That was nice to realize. pinkcashmere or anyone interested. You mentioned you “should” get up and walk in the treadmill before you go to work. I need to work out in the morning too. Wanna check in here when you work out and we can help each other be accountable? Knee Deep in Water Chloe, I'll join you, not in the mornings, though, but evenings. When I have nothing on my calendar, I've been doing several laps around the exterior of the house when I get home from work. It seems to help loosen things up considering I sit most of the day. I'm down 13.6 pounds this year. I really want to strengthen my legs and work on my upper arms before next summer's vacation.

I'm thrilled for any accountability anyone wants to do. If you're a morning or an evening exerciser, a daily exerciser, a Tuesday exerciser, what ever works for you!
Iggy aka IG, when you walk around the property, have you carried or worn weights?

I just got back from a roughly 7 mile walk. Farther than I had planned on. It is on a trail system I hadn’t gone down before. I had a rough idea of the path going in to make a loop back to where I started, but the paths I needed to get to for the loop were all blocked off. The land is owned by the university system experimental farm so I get that they can do whatever they want basically, but it would have been nice if the closures would have been posted at the trail head.
I guess it all evens out in the end as I was busy yesterday and didn’t walk much, so I made up for it today.

Glad you got your walk in and hopefully you can figure out the available trails as the time passes. In other news, I got home from work and was catching up with the family. Then everyone moved on to other things and I figured I’d catch up on the boards. I got to this page and realized I could just hop on the bike again, so that’s what I did. You, guys, are a very good influence on me👍

Iggy aka IG , when you walk around the property, have you carried or worn weights? LOL. Only mine. No, but seriously, that's a great idea! I recently read about Chef Guy Fieri getting in shape by wearing a weighted backpack. Good job, everyone! I loved reading everyone's posts about what they accomplished yesterday. I walked our property and then did sciatica stretches (can be found on the Mayo Clinic website) and some yoga poses. These help limber me up after sitting at a desk all day. A standing desk is on my radar, but not yet in the budget.

You, guys, are a very good influence on me👍 We have a tv in our garage gym because otherwise I cannot fathom we’d ever go out there. That’s what a friend of mine did! There was a show she wanted to watch so she made a deal with herself that she can watch it only while working out. I think she kept at it. I woke up early again but did not want to get up to work out. Eventually I got up and sat on the bike. Once I started I did not want to continue. But I did. It was not great but I did it. The perfect is an enemy of good. And Knee Deep in Water Chloe needed me, at least that’s what I told myself to keep going. Yes, I know Chloe doesn’t need me but I found something to say to myself to trick myself into doing it while I’m building a habit that won’t need such tricks. I still don’t want to promise to keep on with it but will see how it goes. My motivation is at a very low level right now.

I only managed 1.5 miles today. I didn’t want to go out on a walk at all, so I’ll consider that enough of a victory. I’m still a bit sore from yesterday’s slight misadventure, and walking on a pavement path was killing my feet and legs. Should have found a dirt path to walk on like yesterday.
I also did an epic Costco shopping trip today, so that has to account for some activity! I hadn’t gone shopping for fresh stuff in quite awhile as I was trying to make myself use up some of my pantry and freezer stockpile. Now I have a ton of fresh fruits and veggies to choose from. I also washed/prepped all of them today, which increases my odds of actually eating them.

How are you doing, Chloe? I saw somewhere that you had a lot of dentist work done today, hope you recovery goes smoothly!

Finally slept better and did not wake up too early. That also meant I didn’t have a whole lot of time to bike this morning, or so I thought I could use that as an excuse. Very sneaky, right 😉. Yeah, I thought so too, so I got up and got 5 minutes in to be able to say that at least I put some effort in again.
Weekends are the worst for keeping up a routine and building habits for me. How do you all deal with that? Any tips or tricks?

I'd planned on tossing the football around with the neighbor kiddos yesterday, but when I picked them up after school, it was 83 degrees outside. We vetoed that idea. Today I went for a walk to get the mail and took the long way around the office building, and I'll walk after work tonight. msventoux I agree! For me, a large Walmart shop results in several hundred steps. anciana on weekends I tend to get in more steps since I basically sit at a desk all week. If I'm not out hiking or off-roading, I get my steps in via chores including stairs for laundry. I try to remember to do my floor exercises before showering, but that's only about half the time.

True, I did not work out yesterday. I had a 10:30 am dentist appointment. I didn't realize how much Novocain they were going to give me. The problem is I despise working out in the morning but then something will come up preventing an afternoon or evening workout.

I did nothing yesterday. Went on a 3.99 mile walk today, which is annoying. If I had realized what the mileage was I would have walked some circles in the parking lot!

I have found that I reach for more vegetables when the fridge is stocked with fresh prepped carrots, celery, broccoli, etc. Especially during times of mindless snacking.
Need to get things back on track, starting with water. I am going to focus on that this week.
DH had foot surgery 5/23 and can not bear weight on that foot for 3 weeks, leaving me with not only his care but also taking care of everything else. Water intake is all that I can handle at this point.

Woo hoo! Nicely done! You go, Chloe! I haven’t done anything yesterday but did Saturday. After thinking on it a bit, I realized I should have been working out after meals, not before so I did that last few times. Though, yesterday was very much a slugfest which I partly expected with all the family comings and goings. I did get up this morning and biked. Let’s see how this week goes 🤞Good luck, everyone!

Good job Knee Deep in Water Chloe, msventoux and anciana! Good to see you ners! I do the same thing, daisylu, regarding food prep. For water, yesterday I made two 16-ounce cucumber lemon water and added blueberries and freshly squeezed lime juice and sipped on them all afternoon. I hope your DH recovers quickly. Both Saturday and Sunday I walked nearly a mile while doing chores including stairs for laundry. And a neighbor friend and I are reminding each other to do wall/countertop pushups. I did 10 this morning before work, and several sets of ten over the weekend. In true multi-tasking form, this evening I'll walk on the treadmill while Saturday's towels fluff in the dryer.

It was your posts over the years that reminded me how important sleep and water were so because that seemed doable, I started focusing more on those. Water ended up being easier and I started bringing a water bottle to work and making sure I had some early in the morning after waking up. Afterwards I usually drink some with meals but since then, I’ve been counting how much water I actually drink and it was eye opening. Sleep was very difficult to address as I am often stressed out and thus my sleep suffers. I tried many, many things over the years and every time would hope something would work. Once again I think I have found something and am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it helps.

I’ve never heard of it, all I knew was to do the push-ups on my knees if I can’t do a full proper one but this sounds much more feasible. Thank you! How are you doing today, Knee Deep in Water Chloe? I think your meeting is today. Hope it’s just a formality as you mentioned and you can just breeze through it, go home and have a fabulous weekend! Just so you know, it’s been about 10 days now and I’ve stuck with working out a bit every day except for last Sunday (weekends are hard for me to keep a routine). You just keep hanging in there! Sending all the hugs 🤗

Yesterday she texted, "Stop what you're doing and give me 25!" I set down what was in my hand, did them using the kitchen counter, and texted her a confirmation. It's been quite fun.

Excellent, Iggy aka IG! I had my annual appointment with the cardiologist. I mentioned the nighttime leg cramps and he said to keep taking the magnesium but also potassium is good. He said instead of a potassium supplement I should eat more fruit. I will, gladly! I made a giant fruit salad of green grapes, pineapple, blackberries, raspberries, and clementines. It's almost gone, so time to make more. I bought a double container of raspberries at Costco yesterday. Also eating a banana a day. I also read an article about superfoods. I recently finished a course of antibiotics for a sinus infection. My gut biome needs replenishing. I bought some kefir. I am also addicted to Noosa yogurt. It's not reduced fat, but it is delicious.
