No good deed goes unpunished. Be careful what you ask for. I see the Governor of Massachusetts declared a "State of Emergency". They are overflowing with illegals.
And I see Mayor Eric Adams has a overflow of illegals himself and doesn't know how to stop, feed or house them and from coming. He has even posted a letter at the border to tell the illegals NYC is overcrowded with illegals and to go elsewhere.
Yep, no good deed goes unpunished.

Rip-What good deeds is the state you live in doing? Sadly Oregon. It states - Oregon’s sanctuary statute was enacted in July 1987, making it the first sanctuary state.
The law prohibits the use of public resources to arrest or detain illegal aliens whose only crime is violating U.S. immigration laws.
In 2020, Democrats in the state legislature attempted to force the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility to stop contracting with the federal government to detain illegal and criminal aliens. And it's been in trouble ever since. Releasing illegals who have committed crimes from jails without notifying ICE as to their legal status if any. City, County and state officials are whimps on punishment. The law needs to be repealed. But it wont since this is a liberal Democrat blue state.

No good deed goes unpunished, huh? Do you ever think about what a country this would be if Republicans wanted to work to solve this issue? For that matter, any issue? This is from the linked article in the OP.
She called on the federal government for financial help, and more urgently, expedited work authorizations to allow the new arrivals to more quickly find jobs and start earning a living, she wrote in a letter to U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.
In the letter, Healey pointed to work authorizations as a primary driver of the crisis. Currently, she said, it can take weeks, months or more than a year to receive the authorizations.
“Our new arrivals are most eager to work. The last thing they want is to be dependent,” she said.

“Our new arrivals are most eager to work. The last thing they want is to be dependent,” she said.I can vouch for this last thing, since I live and work here. many of the original migrants that were sent to Martha's Vineyard and were relocated to the Joint Base on Cape have stuck around. their kids are in the school system, and the adults are working locally. today's news story here was about the content in the OP - how the more recent migrants are being temporarily housed in local motels...and that these places are now at capacity. so how can the state house more migrants if there's nowhere to put them? a civics lesson for everyone - MA is the only "Right to Shelter" state. in a nutshell, it means "(e) for the prevention of homelessness, temporary shelter as necessary to alleviate homelessness when such family has no feasible alternative housing available,"

Compassionate conservatism at its best.
Have we seen any payment from Mexico for the parts of the wall that Trump built? Are conservatives willing to pay more taxes to build the wall, or are we just going to raise the deficit to fund it? I forgot, we refuse to raise the debt ceiling. So are we going to use "snowflake money" to fund it?

Because releasing those without legal residency isn't actually the problem everywhere besides PDX. The fact that we won't fund our jails is the problem. Everyone--regardless of gender, crime, color-- gets released. It's not completely the officials' fault. It's the voters who won't fund the staffing for the jails.

You do realize that not all crimes in Oregon are committed by "Releasing illegals who have committed crimes from jails without notifying ICE as to their legal status", yes? Most likely, the vast majority of crimes in Oregon are committed by U.S. citizens in Oregon as is the case in every state in the country.

Apparently for Conservatives, Christianity ends after anyone crosses the border. I'm not going to criticize anyone who is just trying to feed their family. My grandparents were immigrants (at least, most of them were). I suspect most of us have someone up their family tree that was an immigrant. We need to plan better for their arrival and make the process fair for everyone. But, separating moms from their children is NOT acceptable.

What an embarrassment what a failure. Instead of keeping them out lets take funding from the country to bring them in. Oh my fucking god. You actually think this is a good thing.

The fact that you think that a wall is actually going to work is what I was making fun of. That and the fact that the poor excuse of a president that you voted for boasted about how he was gonna build one and have Mexico pay for it, and yet it never happened. But guess who is working with Mexico, Joseph Muthafuckin Biden. Ha ha!

Oregon does not rank in the top 8 states for immigration. Texas has more "illegals" than the bottom 1/3 US states COMBINED, and is not a "sanctuary state". i really don't know where you are getting your information about immigration, rip, but it is not very high quality. net migration is still declining. it is going to start creating employment problems about NOW.
