Trying to get back on course. Managed to get 60oz of water in by 10AM, going for 90 by 1PM. I try to limit fluids after 5PM - even with that I still wake up in the middle of the night.

I wrote about my experience with Ozempic in another thread. But I want to post here because some posters don't read all the threads. I would like some advice about Ozempic.
My doctor prescribed me Ozempic.
I took it for a month. Then I went back to the doctor. I expressed my concerns.
It makes me nervous that I have to inject myself and deal with needles. Worried about an infection, injury, etc.I watched videos on YouTube on how to apply it but not sure I was doing it right.
I travel internationally. Next trip is for 6 weeks. Getting there takes approx. 24 hours. Concerned about a drug that needs to be refrigerated. It's very difficult to transport for that long.
Then it says to discard after 6 weeks which means I have to take two pens and hope I never run into a power outage while I'm there in summer.
Plan to move back to Uruguay in a few years, where they don't offer Ozempic so not sure if I want to take it now
My doctor put me back on Metformin.
I'm debating whether I should switch to Ozempic or stay with Metformin.
I didn't get any side effects with Ozempic during the 4 weeks I took it. But I was on the lowest dose. My doctor is kind of useless. She seems so overworked and overwhelmed. When I said I had concerns about Ozempic, she just switched me back to Metformin. She didn't ask me about my concerns or anything.

Checking in on a Monday! Go Me! Current weight is 160.4lbs. Super duper high for me. I got up to 163 a month ago. Still not exercising. It's a choice. I have to finish my dissertation. I'm not exercising nor cleaning nor socializing until the dumb thing is done.

I'm not exercising nor cleaning nor socializing until the dumb thing is done. That's ok. Just jump back in when you can. I'm very slowly trying to start up my walking again. My joints are kind of on again, off again when it comes to pain. So, I'm just doing what little bit I can. Unfortunately, I've regained around 10 pounds, which of course I find very annoying.

Ava - I haven't taken ozempic, but ds has type 1 diabetes so some of your concerns are things that he (and I while hes a minor) have to deal with, no alternatives. Which isn't to say they're not valid concerns- they are! They're just things that we don't have a choice on so have to find ways to make it work. Ds was dx 8 years ago and my memory on those early months is a bit hazy. But for at least the first 6-8 months ds got 4-6 injections a day. Since then he changed to a pump which lowers the injections essentially to once every 2-3 days. So its still a lot of injection sites. In 8 years he had 1 site get infected and it cleared up on its own (no meds) very quickly. On a side note, dh has done intramuscular injections of testosterone every 10-14 days for 20 years and has never gotten an infection. I think chances of that are really very rare using a new needle each time. Temperature is a concern with insulin as well. We keep it in a cooler when traveling. We haven't done any kind of international flights like you do, but when we fly all meds stay with us at all times. It can't be checked or gate checked. The temperature in the cargo areas will ruin it.

Sorry to jump in mid year. I seem to do better if I write things here and copy them to my journal than just Journaling alone and I'm hoping to track my efforts better.
Dc and I are working on building core strength. We're following hybrid calisthenics by Hampton Liu. Today we did 2x30 wall push ups, and dc did 2x10 bent leg raises and I did 2x20 bent leg raises.
We also went to the gym with ds and I introduced dc to some weight machines. We both went swimming, dc did the rower and elliptical, and I walked the dogs.

The scale continued to go the incorrect direction until yesterday's weigh in. Time to reel it back in as I absolutely refuse to regain the 30 pounds I worked so hard to lose last year. I reduced food intake yesterday, and increased water consumption and leg lifts. Minus .8 this morning. Baby steps.

I haven't gotten on the scale in quite awhile. I've been so busy with general life, a family emergency, work travel, etc, that I'm a little afraid to. I also haven't been exercising consistently. But I'm trying something new - every day that my only exercise/movement is walking, I'm adding either strength or core exercises. It's been like 5 days, so who knows if it will last. But it makes me feel a little better about how I've significantly cut down on my higher intensity cardio. So we'll see how this goes!

I hope everyone is doing well today. I continue to lose water weight and am down another 1.4 this morning. I had fish, shrimp, and several different types of vegetables last night for supper and a cheeseburger patty, mock potato salad (made with cauliflower instead of potatoes) for lunch prior to that. Snacks were celery, a bit of peanut butter, almonds and a cheese stick. I'm already feeling better and more in control.

Dc and I went to 1 class tonight. Another good cardio warm up. Then we went to the gym and did leg weights. Really proud of how persistent dc has been. Then 2x15 15 glute bridges, and 1 minute twist holds.

raeoflyteThanks for the comments. I think I'm going to stick to Metformin for now. I am very fortunate to not need to take a medication that has to be refrigerated. That would be complicated for me with long international travel. Maybe in the future I'll have to take it, but I'll wait for now.

Hi! Today was the last day of work for me for this this school year. I have the month of July and the first week of August off. I haven't exercised at all since the third week of March. I haven't worn my Apple Watch since school got out on June 14th. I purchased it because if I don't have pockets, it's hard for me to keep my phone with me in the school building. I'm going to put it back on tomorrow. I'm going to journal every day of July and August. I'll track and reflect on food intake, water consumption, alcohol consumption, emotional eating, exercise, and sleep habits. I'm going to resume exercising. I really have much better energy when I exercise. I've also been having consistent low heartburn for a few months. Twice in the last month I've had excruciating heartburn when going to bed. I need to not eat after 7pm as I generally go to bed at 9pm.
Anyhoo...feel free to ignore my frequent posts the next two months. But, also feel free to discuss my posts, encourage me, and make any suggestions.

I've managed to lose 2 of the pounds I'd regained. Now I need to lose the rest.
It's going to be a full weekend, but I'll try to squeeze in my walking time with everything else going on.

Welp, I did some good things and missed some targets today. I had about 2,400 calories—which is way too many for me. I did wear my Apple Watch. I had just shy of 5,000 steps for the day. On a normal school day with no workout, I hit 7,000 steps. I did well with water. I took a nap—good self care!

I also need to get back on track, especially with IF. I have been consistent with at least 90oz of water/day for the last 2 weeks.
Started using my fasting app again last night. It is set for 16 hours, and I have 2.5 hours to go. May change it to 14 hours until I get back in the habit.

Good Monday morning! I've weighed in at 162lbs. I did break 7,000 steps yesterday. I was on the elliptical for 35 minutes--yay! I had 2400 calories. It's amazing to me how easily I consume calories still without realizing how they add up. It's not like this is my first attempt at calorie control. I made sure to get enough water in before I went to bed last night. I did not have any emotional eating yesterday, so that's good. I did not have any wine yesterday either. I have developed a horrible habit of "well, I don't want that open wine bottle to go bad, so I should have a glass of it."
My sleep schedule is rotating already even though Friday was my last work day. I'm a natural 11pm/midnight to 7am/8am sleeper. Obviously that doesn't work for the school/business world.

ners, if you re-amortize your steps to meet the goal, what does that make your daily goal for the remainder of the year?

Knee Deep in Water Chloe It is about 7600 per day. Very attainable. My plan is to try to pick up a day a week. As of Sunday I hit my old goal (about 6850) for the first 2 days of July. Now to get in a few more steps today.

I need to post more frequently here, and of course read the posts more often. You are all so motivational!
I weighed in at 145.2 this morning. My step count is suffering due to knee pain. I'm scheduled to walk two 5K races this month. I'm not worried about my time. I'm more focused on being able to cross the finish line with a minimum of pain.
Meal planning and prep are big obstacles for me. I need to check out some websites on cooking for one person. Otherwise I have a ton of food left over and some of it goes to waste. I don't mind leftovers for one additional meal, but 2+ leftover meals is more than I like. I need to eat less, and eat healtier.
About wine: I no longer keep wine in the house. I will buy some if people are coming over, or occasionally if I feel I really deserve it. But I buy a bottle at a time. No more stockpiling. You know that line from Field of Dreams, "If you build it they will come"? If I buy it, I will drink it. And I don't need to drink it. I'm finding I sleep better without it, and I certainly don't need the calories. My digestion is also better without it.

I'm feeling better at this point in my summer (non-paid  vacation compared to the craziness that is the end of a school year. I've caught up on sleep. I'm coping well with my anxiety. I do have some splotchy sunburns on parts of my legs where I missed with the sunscreen when DH and I went kayaking on a lake on Tuesday. As of Thursday morning, I'm at 20,000 steps for the week. I haven't had any dramatic weight loss this week, but I'm also not on a strict calorie reduction.

Why did half an angel food cake get left at my house? Why do I think it's wasteful to throw it out and that I should eat it?

My weight is unchanged, so that's annoying. 164lbs this morning. 61,308 steps last week. (I've not been really paying attention to my average here, so I don't know if this is up or down or even.) Four intentional cardio days. (Best week since March.) Managed to track calories three days. (I hate tracking calories. Hate it.) Had wine at least four days last week. (I might start tracking this.) Did decently on water. Only had emotional eating a few times. Face is pimply but I'm not sure why.

I lost one more pound. Still aways to go to get back to where I was, but hey, I'll take one lost pound over one gained any day. Knee Deep in Water Chloe, you're maintaining, so that's always a good thing. Regarding skin, my skin breaks out when it's been really hot out, like when our temps hit 90 degrees.

I know I'm a few days late responding, but I am the same way when it comes to leftover sweets. Depending on what it is, I either freeze them, send them with DH to his work, or he keeps them out in the garage. Out of sight, out of mind, LOL.
