The DNC fundraising totals in the last couple of days have given me slight hope.

I think Kamala running for President is a terrible, terrible idea. It’s not just that I don’t care for her as a candidate. I hate to say it, but this is not the time for a woman or POC to run for President. There is too much at stake and there are too many people that will not be able to bring themselves to vote for a woman or POC, regardless of how awful Trump is. Trump’s opponent needs to be an articulate, intelligent, middle aged white man with a family, who cares about this nation and ALL of its citizens and their rights. I honestly don’t think she can win. I thought this same way on Sunday, but in the last 2 days I have changed my mind. There is an Obama level energy around her campaign. This election was a wash for many Americans simply because the choice was between 2 rich old white men, and A LOT of our citizens just couldn't relate/vote for either with excitement and hope. Kamela brings in the women, minority, and youth votes. So many of us are ready for something different than the status quo. And the fact that after only 2 days, she is already polling higher than Trump AND Biden shows she can win. We just have to keep the momentum up! This.

And possibly until after the inauguration. I don’t trust the voters in swing states. Harris may be a tough sell in states like Wisconsin and Ohio. Hopefully POC in Georgia will come out in droves and that state can lock down. And this too. I'm panicked and hopeful.

It is a really weird mental state to be in right now. There is a part of me that feels like we are closer than ever to having a female president. Then the other half of me remembers why Trump won in the first place and I fear he's going to win again and we won't see a woman president not only in my life time but probably not in Gwen's lifetime either. It really does come to people who say they want change actually voting for change. Not saying they want change then yelling "No not like that!" and staying home.

Her chances all hinge on the young people voting. If they do not come out in significant numbers, she is toast. It is time for younger generations to decide if they want to take responsibility for building a better future. Because if they do not vote, Trump wins, and everything they wish to change goes to hell. We will see if they care enough to actually vote. Old people will, and the old white folk will re-elect Trump. Vote for it now, or there is a good chance they will end up having to fight for it later - if they will even have a willingness to do it.

I know a lot of people who thought as a business man, maybe he would do a good job, regardless of the crap that came out of his foul mouth. We know now who and what he is. It may not be enough for racists and misogynists, but I do know a few people who voted for him the first time that will not vote for him again (and did not vote for him in 2020). And Hilary was widely disliked, even among her own party. Kamela is not Hilary. So I am staying optimistic and hoping for the best. Trump and the GOP are running scared right now, and its obvious. All we can do is hope that she wins. She is polling higher than Biden was....but so was Hilary. Harris really needs to pick a great VP. That is was I am waiting on....

He's calling himself a brilliant young man... Maybe another cognitive test is in order. If he really wanted something done about the border he wouldn’t have sank the bipartisan bill that gave conservatives a little bit of everything they wanted. But he doesn’t want to improve America or fix a problem. He sucks.

I agree, mainly because in my opinion the Dems need to win any way they can. And pushing Biden out was not the way to do things. Why not have Joe develop a heart problem or step down two years into this next term? We get a female President AND more importantly we keep Trump and his American Nazis out of the WH. And hopefully away from some of their power. And because they pushed Biden out, Kamala Harris does need to be the Presidential candidate. I'm not going to pick her VP, but I would be OK with-it being Joe Biden. I am so mad at those hot heads in DC. They needed to chill and think about the country. To think about the closest, we can get to a guaranteed win. But they did not. And for now, they have lost me and my heart on this. Why O why couldn't they have done something more sensible like how NJ Dems finally got Mendez out of office. He has agreed to resign in a timely fashion instead of being pushed out. But he actually did crimes. Not have just a bad month or so campaigning.

Quoting you only because you have the names listed. The more I think about it, the more I think VP should be Beshear or Kelly. Popular guys, would energize voters, and make the sensitive white men feel good about voting for Harris. Kelly is a mother flipping astronaut, come on! How cool?! I feel more confident in Arizona keeping that seat blue than I do about what happens to NC if Cooper is the VP. Popular guy, yes, but with a conservative Republican lieutenant governor I don't want to risk that state losing a good dude. Though with how slim a majority Trump won NC in 2020, maybe that gamble could pay off? Josh Shapiro is my guy and I selfishly want him to stay in PA. He is ridiculously popular and is a good leader. He was my county commissioner and helped not just flip a historically red county, but started the wave that turned it reliably navy blue. He's so popular that the GOP Senate candidate can post a picture with himself and the gov and not face political backlash. I want him to run for president but I want to hold onto him a little longer. He's mine!

( I also feared he would be assassinated- so very happy to be wrong about that, too). This time I don’t think that way. The same people who wouldn’t vote for her are the people already voting for Trump. I think to the rest of us, she looks great, especially paired with an astronaut. The contrast with the GOP ticket will be fabulous.

I was another that, if you had asked me last week, would have said she had no chance. The upswell in grassroots support has been heartening. I hope we can keep it going. The one thing I hope we don't do is get complacent. I still remember, even up to election day in 2016, people being like "Oh Trump has NO CHANCE". I also recall on election night when they called Florida, and I realized it was all but over. I am already planning to take November 6 off as I know I will be up all night watching election results. I just hope its not like 2020 where we were waiting days and days for the call. Not sure my nerves can take it again.

He led us through COVID and the worst tornado in KY's history. He has worked with the Republican legislators. I think he has a bright future, but I don't want him to leave us!!!

Now who’s the old crazy bastard in the race?
Should, god forbid, trump win the election in November, at the end of his term he will be the same age Joe Biden is today. trump and his rambling word salads are a problem with him today. What will he be like in two years?

On the VP front: for consideration - Kelly was an astronaut. Now he is a 60 year old Senator. Cooper is 67. Shapiro is 51. Beshear is 46.
Harris is 59.
For comparison: Trump is old as dirt. Vance is 39.

The first time Obama won I had this exact same fear. I really liked him but feared he couldn’t win. I was so happy to be wrong. One of the reasons Barack Obama won the election in 2008 is because John McCain selected Sarah Palin as his running mate. She was way too over the top for American voters. True. I had liked McCain prior to that pick, and when he let the GOP leadership do that to him I was worried what else they would do if he got elected. Palin was a darling of the conservative set though. So pretty.

Exactly she had positions but never done anything hell she didn't even want to visit the border. Again she is nothing Moreover, she's been a very active vice president and it doesn't take much to find her views on issues. She's hardly been silent.
Just because you're ignorant on things doesn't mean they don't exist.
