Conservative Treehouse or whatever it was that SCP liked so much. They really could write some interesting political fiction. I love to read the comments on that site. They didn't appear to be to happy with Trump's VP pick. Since Trump doesn't have the best track record of choosing advisors, etc, there was speculation JD Vance is part of the deep state. If by deep state, you mean extreme RW billionaire Peter Thiel you would be correct. I would like to look back at the timeline Rachel Maddow posted. I think he converted to Catholicism after Peter gave him two different well-paying jobs he was not qualified for. He was obviously grooming him to be VP in this particular election. Or so it looks that way to me.

Vance once again went after Harris last night for not having kids, calling her a crazy cat lady made bitter by not having kids and with no vested interest in the future of the country.I guess being a guy with kids from different women that you rarely see unless they’re cute girls that you like to fantasize about having sex with is fine with JD. I used to admire the guy when I read his book. He’s done a huge 180 in order to be VP. I think he will regret this in the future. Good grief that trope needs to fucking die already. I am interested to see if Swift coming out in support of Harris will pull in younger voters. Here is your chance to vote for someone who isn't a white male three steps away from the nursing home people. I am fairly certain that I won't see another chance like this in my lifetime based on current track records so I REALLY hope people take it. There will never be a perfect candidate, especially considering the gold standard in this country is still based on rich white old men. The only way true change is going to happen is if we force it. We did it with Obama and then we backslid with Trump. Now is our chance to course correct before it takes another 200+ years to see a minority president.

I Grew Up in Appalachia Too. J.D. Vance Is a Hillbilly PhonyA 26-year-old Ivy League graduate from Coal City, West Virginia, explains what Trump’s running mate got wrong in his bestselling book. I was raised in Coal City, West Virginia and when Monday’s big news about Trump’s vice presidential selection was announced, I felt instant rage. I wrote to my friends: “J.D. Vance was named Trump’s running mate, which means people are talking about his stupid fucking book again, in which a venture capitalist from suburban Ohio who spent a couple of summers in Kentucky praises himself for pulling himself up by his bootstraps and blames the continued poverty of his ‘fellow’ hillbillies on their poor choices. “Instead, read literally anything else. Read Appalachian Reckoning which responds to J.D. Vance’s stupid fucking book. Read Demon Copperhead. Read Another Appalachia. a can of alphabet soup onto the floor and read whatever comes out of that. I guarantee it will be better than J.D. Vance's stupid fucking book.” Vance fills me with rage, in part, because I’m a lot like him. When viewed from a distance, the arc of my life looks remarkably similar to his. Unlike Vance, my story actually starts in Appalachia. I was born in 1997, one town over from Coal City which doesn’t have luxuries like hospitals. My parents were white but that was basically their only advantage. My father is chronically ill and disabled. After getting a hysterectomy, and on the advice of her doctors, my mother started taking OxyContin. This prescription turned into an addiction that would carry her to an early grave. Rest of article here: I Grew Up in Appalachia Too. J.D. Vance Is a Hillbilly Phony

Interesting propaganda... green jobs were the fastest growing sector around 2009-2010 or so Guess they only approve of affirmative action if its a white boy they can mold like JD Vance

Younger voters are nice and all, but they are historically the ficklest and least likely to show up on election day. They want what they want and have little clue as to how federal politics work unless of course that is their passion or side gig. The people most likely to show up and vote, old people.

Those are some of the items that Biden was/Harris is facing in this election. She needs to deal with them well to win or they will blow up in her face.

I would reply that I obviously have a more vested interest in the future of this country having been VP for almost 4 years. What have you done Mr. Vance besides breed?

I think you missed the symbolism here. Like the movie, in weeks ago, the dems realized Bidens political career and reelection was dead but they had to keep him hidden. Did you watch weekend at Bernie's? The didn't keep him hidden. They kept him propped up on plain sight.

We all know trump is frightened by strong women. trump should be frightened by Kamala Harris because she knows exactly who and what he is and is not afraid to tell the American voter.

Too bad I saw Jordan Klepper live the night before Biden dropped out. Was a great show besides that. Most notable was the drunk and high MAGA couple in the row behind us who would start hooting and clapping at the beginning of any joke starting out good for Republicans and then go quiet as the punchline developed. When they got up to buy yet another overpriced Bud, the guy next to DH leaned over and said I wonder if the punchlines are over their IQ. 20 mins into the show, Jordan started on a bit about Hilary Clinton and they got up and stormed out muttering obscenities and most of our section clapped. Meanwhile the wife's leggings were drooping way past her nasty underwear in the epitome of white trashiness.

Has been very interesting to hear bonus teen's take on Kamala as she's a young African American. She's slightly worried about overt racism at school this fall.

THE BOROWITZ REPORT
Harris Challenges Trump to Walk Down a RampVice President Kamala Harris on Monday challenged Donald J. Trump to walk down a ramp. “The American people deserve a president who can walk down a ramp unassisted and without incident,” Harris said. “And so I put this challenge to Donald Trump: I will meet you anytime, anywhere, any ramp.” Just minutes after Harris threw down the gauntlet, Trump responded with a note from his podiatrist, who asserted that a “Vietnam-era foot condition” would make walking down a ramp “an excruciating ordeal” for the former president. Doubling down, Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance lambasted Harris’s ramp challenge, calling it “deeply offensive to every American man who, like President Trump, bravely avoided serving his country.” Harris Challenges Trump to Walk Down a Ramp

I think Kamala running for President is a terrible, terrible idea.
It’s not just that I don’t care for her as a candidate. I hate to say it, but this is not the time for a woman or POC to run for President. There is too much at stake and there are too many people that will not be able to bring themselves to vote for a woman or POC, regardless of how awful Trump is. Trump’s opponent needs to be an articulate, intelligent, middle aged white man with a family, who cares about this nation and ALL of its citizens and their rights.
I honestly don’t think she can win.

I thought this same way on Sunday, but in the last 2 days I have changed my mind. There is an Obama level energy around her campaign. This election was a wash for many Americans simply because the choice was between 2 rich old white men, and A LOT of our citizens just couldn't relate/vote for either with excitement and hope. Kamela brings in the women, minority, and youth votes. So many of us are ready for something different than the status quo. And the fact that after only 2 days, she is already polling higher than Trump AND Biden shows she can win. We just have to keep the momentum up!

And possibly until after the inauguration. I don’t trust the voters in swing states. Harris may be a tough sell in states like Wisconsin and Ohio. Hopefully POC in Georgia will come out in droves and that state can lock down.

Her chances all hinge on the young people voting. If they do not come out in significant numbers, she is toast. It is time for younger generations to decide if they want to take responsibility for building a better future. Because if they do not vote, Trump wins, and everything they wish to change goes to hell. We will see if they care enough to actually vote. Old people will, and the old white folk will re-elect Trump.
