During a Donald Trump town hall event in Flint, Michigan, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders told a crowd of voters that Vice President Kamala Harris “doesn’t have anything keeping her humble.” link And then you have: Trump took three questions from the audience in addition to providing lengthy monologues about relationships with foreign leaders, his rally crowd attendance and how his comments aren’t rambling but rather “genius” statements. link It would be hilarious if it weren't so sad. Now as you all know English is not my first language. Nor is it my second for that matter, but in general I consider my language ability in English to be pretty adequate. However, Huckabee's comment has me baffled. I don't necessarily consider world leaders to be all that humble (apologies to president Carter) nor do I expect them to be. I DO expect them to have at !east better than basic manners. IOW, no elbowing someone aside so you can have a center spot on a photograph. But "being overtly humble", not so much. Now taking this all into account I have only one explanation for this comment and that is that Harris, as a woman and a woman of color no less, is forgetting her place. She is " drinking from the white only fountain and using the wrong toilet without paying attention to the signs". Maybe this is just the results of my language skills or lack thereof so someone please proof me wrong because the way I read it is rather sickening if this is a humility -vs- hubris contest, we should probably just cancel the election and install Harris/Walz now.

Whichever of trumps head voices wakes up first starts drafting the days talking pts. so far, Harris has not taken the bait. it is actually kindof impressive. this is a good moment to review the Twain quote on my footer.

if he doubles down on MAGA, it will be the clearest evidence that he actually believes all the BS he says about the 2020 election. he has been steadily losing votes since 2016 (on a percentage basis). i am not sure that will happen this time. he might gain votes this time, because there will be less undecided and 3rd party vote than usual. at least that is what i think. if he LOSES votes on a percentage basis, that would be glorious, because that means that Harris would win by at least 5%, and that would mean she gets about the same number of EV as Obama, which would pretty much crush MAGA and put the GOP in full retrenchment mode. it would also make the election fraud BS almost impossible to prosecute. Hey DJ are you going to start posting polling data more frequently as we get closer to the election? I always look forward to seeing you data and perspectives on it. sure thing. i have been posting once a week on another board, but i can copy that off and post it here. i do it Saturday night every week.

I agree with you too, NastyWoman . They cannot find any serious flaws with Harris (really, the laugh?), so they're just making stuff up as they go. I mean, how dare anyone challenge the all-powerful Trump. I also agree that the Republican Party is totally living in the past, when women & people of color "knew their place". Or at least society enforced it. They don't recognize people like my Dad (now deceased) who would've been considered a feminist today (surprise!) because he always taught me that I could do anything I strived for, and he openly told me he wanted me to have a good education so that if my husband ever walked out on me, that I wouldn't have to survive on crumbs. He was also pro-choice, especially in cases of rape. But today's GOP wants everyone to humble themselves to the rich white male. That's not happening. they are hoping to GOD something sticks. so far, nothing.

Trump is trying to force Mike Johnson to shut down the government in 12 days. Trump wants them to tack on a bill to make it illegal for illegal immigrants to vote.
It’s already illegal for illegal immigrants to vote.
Trump thinks forcing the government to shut down will help him in the polls. I think it would backfire on him.
He also is claiming the fed 50 basis point cut is ‘election interference’ from the fed.
So he’s willing to tank the economy if he thinks he could win the election because of it?
Economists think we probably will have a soft landing (no recession) - bet that pisses Trump off no end.

Better yet: it is and as far as I know has always been illegal for any, non- naturalized, immigrant to vote whether they are here legally or not.

Well, ya know, "election interference" is the hot button topic du jour, designed to fan the flames of panic about something that I am pretty convinced the far right is already doing.
Just by crying "election interference" he is creating election interference.

That would require second-level thinking. Trump very rarely even gets to first-level thinking. Most is just immediate and visceral reaction to whatever he hears.
