Oh fuck Joe Manchin. He's "alarmed"? Bullshit. He like everyone else knew exactly what was up with those right-wing nominees. His alarm is phony and distasteful. Besides, the time for "alarm" has passed - now is the time for him to pull his head out of his ass, remember he's supposed to be a democrat and actually fucking do something. But of course, he won't. So again, fuck Joe Manchin. I think I am in love with you.

They're saying overturning Roe v Wade would be Trump's lasting legacy. I'll bet he paid for PLENTY of abortions as he was fucking his way from coast to coast during the Vietnam war. He doesn't give a damn about abortions. He just wanted to appeal to the Talibangelists who voted for him, and may do so in the future. The hypocrisy is sickening. It's funny you think he paid for any. My guess would be that he said "how do I know it's even mine?!" while flailing his tiny hands around and then absolved himself of all responsibility. Yeah, I suspect there are some abortions in trump's past. Or at the least some pay offs for silence. The guy is really good at using our judicial system as a club to brutalize people he has issues with. I can see where his lawyer(s) would just threaten and offer money and document to be signed. you get that good at it - by using it over and over and over again... I wouldn't have wanted to go up against the trump legal machine in the past (during his TV reality show years) I'm sure it got worse and harder once he moved into politics. I can't believe such an awful human being (morally/ethically) got elected president.

Dick's Sporting Goods (just opened a store near me!) announced today that they will pay up to $4000 in travel expenses for associates seeking abortion out-of-state

I've said it before and I'll probably say it again...It's surreal to watch a country slide into Facism in real time. And feel so totally helpless to do a damn thing about it.

A concern of mine: In states where all abortions will be banned, will state medical doctors be required to report by name and other personal info all women who the doctors confirm as pregnant so that the state can follow the pregnancy to confirm the completion of same? And if not a full term healthy delivery, what happened to the unborn fetus and why? That seems a very valid concern, and a definite probability in places like TX and LA

Haven't read the thread, but I don't want our future to look like this- www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/woman-who-had-miscarriage-on-malta-trip-can-t-get-abortion/ar-AAYMouo?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=602e75caee304aefb0fb6ca80f885494ROME (AP) — A pregnant American woman who suffered an incomplete miscarriage while vacationing in Malta will be airlifted to a Spanish island on Thursday for a procedure to prevent infection because Maltese law prohibits abortion under any circumstances, the woman's partner said.
Jay Weeldreyer told The Associated Press by phone from a hospital in the island nation that his partner, Andrea Prudente, is at risk of a life-threatening infection if the fetal tissue isn’t promptly removed.
Prudente, 38, experienced heavy bleeding on June 12, followed by a premature rupture of the amniotic sac and the separation of the placenta, according to Weeldreyer, 45. While the hospital is carefully monitoring her for any sign of infection, the facility cannot perform the surgery to complete the miscarriage, he said.

I'm so shocked! Yesterday, they overturned a 108 year old law in NY on concealed carry, states don't have the right to regulate it (to save lives).Today, overturned a 50 year old law, insisting it's a state's right to decide on abortion. Oh, and save lives! And Pelosi is on tv making the same point about the hypocrisy, right now. Did not see that coming for NY.

And there would be an abortion booth on every corner! It wouldn't even take that much. The thought of getting their genitals ripped, sliced and sewn back together would be enough for the human race to die out.

I live about an hour and a half from DC, in an area that does not have local news channels. My DirectTv local channels are DC channels. It hurt my heart to see a young man (in his 20s) on the protest coverage talking about "fishing for Christians" (his words) and "that starts by making sure they are born" (again, his words). This was a young black man. I have no idea where he is from, just what I saw on camera. Now I am wondering where I fit in in this country. I can say more, but I won't.

The only thing these assholes care about more than control is money. So we need to get all the money out of their states and see how quick they change their "values".
Instead of employers offering money if an abortion is needed, they need to start pulling out of states set to abolish abortion. Offer employees relocation assistance. We need to boycott companies who refuse to address this.

That's already the case here because a private Catholic hospital is the biggest in the state. Doctors can be terminated if they intervene while the fetus still has a heartbeat. They also cannot educate you on or offer you birth control or discuss sterilization for either partner. It sucks but wasn't till now terrible because we had two other chains to chose from. CHI wreaks havoc on women's health care in rural areas of both Iowa and Nebraska. Planned Parenthood is it for those women. It's all perfectly legal CHI takes no federal funding and is a private institution they are free to do whatever they deem appropriate per Catholic doctrine. I wonder if their higher upside are celebrating. The Supreme Court made their job so much easier.

For a long time I've said North America's advantage is that we are a young society on a land with lots of resources and still sparcely populated. All civilizations fall. It hasn't made me popular.

My adopted state is better although I live in the more conservative part. Not sure what I would do if civil war leads to it attempting to split off, which I see as likely.

One of the protesters outside the SC held a sign that said "BAN VIAGRA, IF PREGNANCY IS GOD'S WILL DO IS ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION". 🤣 While I agree with the sentiment, as well as Lysistrata type movements, there will be other unintended consequences from this decision. IVF and other infertility measures may be on the chopping block, too.

While I understand the outrage at viagra, sildenafil, the generic name for Vosges, has other legitimate uses, and you negatively impact those who use it if you ban it. Similar to the states that want to ban abortion drugs, which also have legitimate uses for unrelated medical problems

Not that I want to experience it at all, but I am curious what a civil war would look like in this day and age, especially with one side being anti-gun.

I just saw on FB a woman went to a local Planned Parenthood and threw used tampons soaked in pee at protestors outside, hitting one man in the face. My brain is still saying wait, WHAT?!
