I'm thinking by one I will find something new to binge and be unproductive for the rest of the afternoon.

I am refusing to be productive. Work starts up on Tuesday. That's soon enough.

Furnace people will be here tomorrow AM. I made it clear that this wasn't an emergency- there can't be many techs available today and let the people with small babies and badly-insulated homes get them first. Need to start my cardio workout. That will warm me up.

I dozed off at 9:30, got up at 12 to watch the fireworks in the neighborhood which were really impressive and went back to bed. I'm glad I silenced my phone because my friend with the book called at 4 am and again at 8 which I ignored. Got up at 6 with some sort of nasty sinus/nasal thing. We went to the taqueria for breakfast where the extremely strong coffee and amazing green sauce helped clear out things a bit. We took a short walk too.
Tomorrow the generator guy is supposed to install an upgraded monitoring system and I'll start packing away Christmas.
This truly is going to be my year (actually 3 months) for losing weight. The pain in my hips, knees and ankles is beyond irritating and my blood pressure is too high as well. I'm going to add a least a 1/2 hour daily of some form of exercise too.

Although if the electric is working the fireplace does a decent job of heating the house too. Without the blower fan though the heat pretty much stays right by the fireplace.

Hope the meds kick in soon. I was hoping to not only have DS's room painted, but also get the girls room decluttered by tomorrow. None of that happened. I'm still binging the crown.
It's amazing how much time I've managed to fritter away. I think I need to do a "no screens week", or month...or year... I need a NO Kindle reading on my phone. That’s my downfall…

Cleaned the oven and got the ornaments off the tree. I actually organized them this time so I can find stuff.
Usually I get to a point where I give up and just start putting them in bags. Then come next Christmas I'mpissed becauseIcan'tfind anything.

My red beans soup was too spicy and has played hell with my digestion. Penny did ok with the fireworks last night. She didn't shake or pant. But she had to be pressed right up against me, and that didn't help my stomach issues.
I had trouble setting up my new insurance because my email is in their system already from the last time they held the state's Medicare plan. I finally ended up using a different email. Then I had the same trouble setting up my "free" Y membership for similar reasons. They insisted on charging me a rejoining fee. Since they had a promo basing it on the day of the month, I just paid the dollar.
I am all ready to start on Tuesday. I am actually excited!

I have the stove going. Beans have been going for a few hours already. Pork is now going. It smells amazing in the house. I'm contemplating mimosas. Thoughts? this was a question? 🥂

And now DH is worried about me. I had already made the decision to no longer reach out mom or sister for my own mental health before he woke up this morning. I won't ignore them, but I will not initiate. So now I'm too calm. That is valid, as I am 100 percent type A and he is usually the one scraping me off the ceiling.

I found some Kohl's cash that I'd forgotten about last night, and it expires today. So, I made a quick visit to Kohl's, and I wasn't the only shopper trying to spend it today. There was a long line to check out.

The pain in my hips, knees and ankles is beyond irritating and my blood pressure is too high as well. I'm going to add a least a 1/2 hour daily of some form of exercise too. Sadly, pain is a great motivator. That's what got me getting serious about losing weight, too. I didn't have it every day, but some days the pain in my knees & hips was just awful, and I told DH that I was either going to be trying out CBD, or begin exercising more. I gradually worked my way up, from about 10-15 minutes at a time to an hour a day. I didn't do the hour all at the same time, I broke it up into 20 minute sessions. It took about 7 or 8 weeks before the weight started coming off, but then it came off steadily. Before Christmas I'd lost 30 pounds. Now, I've gained 3-4 pounds back, thanks to Christmas eating, but I plan to lose it again, and see if I can lose a bit more. Just so you know, once I hit the 30 pound mark, I was able to maintain the loss by exercising 30-40 minutes a day, rather than an hour. But, the joint pain is gone, so it is totally worth the effort. You can do it! Just start slow, as it does take your body time to get used to regular exercise again, especially if you haven't done it in awhile. It's a bit embarrassing to admit I used to be a high school athlete, so I should know better, but you know the drill: us women tend to put family first, and ourselves last. It's time to put your own needs first. I'll be rooting for you!

I had cramps for the first time in awhile because my hormones are shifting enough sometimes I have a light period now on the Mirena. Cue total meltdown because I was convinced I finally developed cervical cancer. Then my brain finally caught up to the panic. I much prefer having my IUD but bring irregular can fuck with my head given before one I was like clockwork. It's been 20 years since I've had an abnormal pap smear so I totally get it. How long from when you started Mirena did your periods stop? I’ve had it for 3.5 months and my periods are very light. I still have spotting a lot though. I haven't a period since 2014 with Mirena. I had light bleeding for about six weeks after I got my first one and then... absolutely nothing. Ahhh...

Yes, I have two and one is blazing away right now. It's sunny and 57 degrees outside right now so I'm pretty comfortable.

Getting my fat kid on now that I'm finally done cooking. There's a reason I only do this once or twice a year.

I actually ended up cracking a couple windows even though its only 36 degrees out. The sun is out and I have a ton of south facing windows so it was 70 in here which is way too hot for me when I'm cleaning.

Made some Little smokies and put them out with cheese, crackers and some sweets we still have leftover.
Find yourself someone who looks at you like Charlotte is looking at the Smokies right now.🤣

I finally made the prosciutto bread today. Someone should have warned me that provolone is a stinky a$& cheese. don’t know if I will be using this cheese again. I will see how the breadtastes when it has completely cooled down. I never noticed it smelling bad and I eat it all the time.

So the prosciutto bread came out good but I will have to change the 3 meat combo I used. Just a tad bit too salty. I will have to ditch the salami for the next try. Also will try a milder cheese instead of provolone. Now I’m just lounging on the couch happy that I got through 2022 without getting too beat up. Hope we all have a better 2023.

I will see how the breadtastes when it has completely cooled down. I never noticed it smelling bad and I eat it all the time. So I have eaten sliced provolone with no issues but this was a chunk that I believe is an aged provolone that is stronger. My mistake in getting it. It was fine after the bread was completely cooled. I guess that is why the recipe says to wait two hours before eating. I’m an impatient doof.
