Speaking of shoes...I'm looking for sustainable, comfortable (I have a lot of foot pain), shoes I can wear to work, a night out, etc. I have boots for winter but need something for the rest of the year. Any suggestions?

I am finally home from work and sitting outside on the deck. Almost every day, I look forward to coming out here to see what’s new with my plants.
Mister has been working on the Tahoe all day, putting some new speakers in it. He is an audiophile and can’t seem to drive a vehicle with the factory audio. But at least he’s not going all out with the Tahoe, but that’s only because it’s old.
He had to move both our cars out to get the Tahoe in the garage and have room to move around. But he didn’t park our cars in the driveway in a way that made sense, so I parked the Jeep near the street end of the driveway since I couldn’t tuck it in it’s little spot. He can move everything back around to where it all belongs when he gets done playing with the Tahoe.
He said he was getting Kiddo today, I thought he might be here when I got home from work, but I guess Mister got caught up with the Tahoe, and it’s taken longer than he planned. The driver’s seat is sitting on the floor of the garage right now lol.

Any suggestions? I've had a few pair of B.O.C. over the years. I'm not sure your general style, but this label is more earthy crunchy naturals than black flats, tall heels, or pumps.

Any suggestions? What do you mean by sustainable? What kind of shoes? I’ve started wearing plain white sneakers with pants and a blazer, or even with some sundresses. I have 3 pair of these link, all white lol. One for when I wear them with things I wouldn’t normally wear sneakers with. I prefer those to look crispy and new. Another pair that I’ve worn enough to have creases and I can’t get them icy white again, so I wear with things you might expect a person to wear sneakers with. And a pair in reserve lol. They are very lightweight, and just comfortable to me. I NEVER pay full price for them though. Cole Haan shoes have been pretty reliable for me as far as being comfortable. I have styles other than the sneakers. Mister buys them now too. He has those sneakers in different colors, and other styles. I have go to brands for different styles of shoe, even heels. My feet are happiest with cushioning on the insoles and enough room in the toe box, you might have different needs though. But I’ll share my other go to brands if you like.

I found orange Converse. I now have red, blue, green those are Vans, yellow and orange. I count the mauve pair as purple but if I ever find purple purple I will pounce. I have high top Chuck Taylors with the lugged soles, the most comfortable shoes EVER! That’s says a lot coming from me, because I have unhappy feet. I can’t wear regular Converse. Did you know you can customize some styles on Converse’s website? I customized the last pair I bought. I thought you might enjoy that since you seem to like different colors. I do. I happen to enjoy looking for vintage pairs at a favorite store of mine. Not only are they cheaper but you can find designs that are no longer available. Like my Star Wars Van's. I'm pretty proud of that find. Then my pink Converse had doodles on them. I know that would annoy so people but I like inventing stories about the doodles. The only pair I bought new are my yellow pair. I'm going to have to get a new white pair soon those are falling apart. I like converse and vans they are practically indestructible. I have Gwen's checkered slip on in the closet. Abby should be able to wear them soon. A quick once over with a magic eraser and you'd never know.

DD and I came home, and I lay down. I slept from about 2 to 5, not sure why I'm so tired lately. About time for a check-up I guess.
Hubs went to see his mom and brought home a pizza for us, so I didn't have to cook tonight, that is a good thing.

Idk what’s going on where I live. Mrs. T just called and asked if somebody just left our house in a black Challenger. No. She said a black Challenger was just in our cove and sped off. While we were on the phone, they came back and this time someone got in the car on the corner and they sped off again.
I went outside in the driveway and saw the car sitting at the stop sign before it sped off again. It was too far away to see the license plate numbers though.
She also told me that somebody from the task force of the police department in the next suburb called her yesterday asking a lot of questions about whether she’d gotten her window fixed and whether she’d been to a nearby nearby Walmart. She said she’d been to Sam’s on the same street about 20 minutes prior. She hung up from that call and a man called from the same number (it was a woman the first time) asking if her temporary tags are still on her car. They are.
The calls made her uneasy, so she Googled the phone number they called from, it came up as a WhatsApp number. So she called that police department and they verified that it was one of their phone numbers. They told her someone had stolen a vehicle just like hers from Walmart while she was at Sam’s.
I told Mister everything she said, then he left to go get Kiddo. He called me right after he left, he was coming back to the house because the Challenger is sitting on the parking lot at a dance school kind of behind our house. I can see it right now, from our deck. The dance school is closed, there’s no legit reason to be on their parking lot.
I called Mrs. T back and told her that, she called the non emergency police number.
Mister went on to get Kiddo, I am sitting on the deck with the dogs and my lil friend, watching for the car to either leave or the police to pull up. Mrs. T sent her toddlers to her daughter’s room and went to sit outside. Mr. T is not home. I think I’ve already said that even though she’s tiny, Mrs. T is not the average Jane.
I just saw a police car come down the big street. I’ll be back.

Well the police car didn’t stop where the black car was, and didn’t come in our cove. But right after they drove by, the black car pulled off the lot at the dance school and drove past our cove again. And just drove by again, they turned around and came back again. I know it’s the same car because it has fins or whatever you call them on the back window.
I don’t like any of this. At all.
Maybe we are all being paranoid right now, but I still don’t like it.

I let my inner OCD personality take over yesterday and today. After DH died, I got rid of the filing cabinet and reduced what I had saved to a plastic milk crate. And then I think I quit filing. Lol. That was almost 3 years ago. I just let it stack inside a box. Yesterday I bought a new thumb drive and started scanning and shredding the newer stuff. A lot in the filing crate will have to be shredded, too. I'm still in the boot for my ankle so it isn't a bad project. When I finish, I need to tackle the income tax stuff. Everything is in a nice manilla envelope by year, just waiting for a burglar to take one home with them! DH was a great filer! One more reason why I miss him so much . . . Sounds like a great chore to do while immobile!

I LOVE my Vionics. I was getting back pain, joint pain, etc., from walking, but bought some Vionics, and now I can walk pain-free.
@pinkcshmere, can you record this car that is hanging around your neighborhood? That'd make me nervous, too.

That'd make me nervous, too. I could, but unless it comes in the cove again and I just happen to be at the street end of our driveway, it won’t be clear that it’s the same car. I definitely wouldn’t be able to get the license plate. The dance school it was parked at, isn’t as close to me as it might sound. Nor is the big street. There’s our yard, then a field, then a “private” street, then another field, THEN the dance school. The only reason I could see it from our deck is there’s nothing tall enough to block the view when I was peeping through the wood “screen”on our deck, not because it was close. Mr. T is on his way home now. Their son is at the movies and Mrs T is nervous about going to pick him up by herself, in her vehicle, the SRT. She said she doesn’t know if “they” or somebody else might follow her going there, and/or coming back home. She’s not really afraid, she just doesn’t want anything to happen while one of her children is with her. When I rehashed the situation on this thread for bean, I left out the part where Mister said Mrs T left home that night while Mister was seeing his parents to their car. He said that wherever she went, someone might have followed her home to see where it was parked, and came back later to get it. In case you all aren’t aware, thieves use air tags to find out where vehicles are parked. I first heard about it as a warning to not go to local gun ranges because thieves know you probably have guns if you’re at a range, so they hide air tags on vehicles in the parking lot, to find out where you live so they can steal your guns. Now I’ve learned they use them to know where to find vehicles they want to steal too. These days, people tell thieves what kind of vehicle they want, the thieves go steal it for them. Idk what you have to do to be able to drive a stolen vehicle every day like you bought it, but I do know that this happens. It’s all TOO MUCH! If you’re smart enough to figure all this shit out, put that energy into something legal and productive to make money to buy whatever you want. Both houses in our cove are on edge now, because thieves want Mrs. T’s vehicle that she and Mr. T were able to buy because they are productive members of society. What a sad world we live in. FWIW, I’ve not seen another police car yet, even though they were supposed to be coming to “check things out”. When I lived in the hood, I knew not to count on the police to show up and help you. Public Enemy’s song from back in the day “911 Is A Joke” was real. Now I know that it’s not much different in the suburbs here. Duly noted.

Kiddo is playing in the dirt where the dogs have worn the grass away. I’ve not tried to stop him, because as far as I know, that’s what kids do, play in dirt and get dirty. I have a feeling his Mom would have a stroke if she knew he was playing in the dirt though. Well, she doesn’t even like him being outside. She swears he has bad allergies and is allergic to a million different things, but she always sends food for him to eat, like we aren’t capable of feeding him…… if his allergies are that bad, why does she never send allergy medicine?
There’s not been even 1 time that he got sick over here from playing outside, playing with our dogs, or eating somewhat spicy food, even if he’s here for a few days, long enough for him to have a reaction to all the shit he’s supposedly allergic too.
So unless Mister says otherwise, I’m going to let him play in the dirt.

No excuse. Anyone can certainly take the time to see WHO sent messages, then decide whether it requires a quick response. And in this case, a message from me should be a priority. I know they were online earlier today. Sorry, was just trying to give the benefit of doubt for the person as to why you haven't heard back yet. I have been trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, too. But the thing is, she deleted an entire thread. One with thousands of posts and a lot of sentimental value. That requires some accountability in my opinion - not only to me, but to ALL OF YOU. She effed up and isn't acknowledging it, even if it's only a couple of sentences about what happened.
It's inexcusable not to have done at least that much, and she's been online at least twice today. Blonde Granny owes everyone here an apology and an explanation. I was trying to avoid outing her but if she's going to ignore me then the gloves come off.

@pinkcshmere FWIW, around here the Challenger is often an undercover vehicle or a bait car operated by the local PD because they seize a lot of them on drug offenses. Any chance the one you're seeing is actually PD?

so, back on topic. TGIF! I'm trying to wrap up some work this morning, and pack an overnight bag to head into the city. tonight, we drink for the kids. it's a wine and whiskey tasting event, with silent and live auction items, to benefit Make-a-Wish Foundation. I booked a room at the hotel that's hosting the event, because nobody's driving after a boozy night. it will be great to catch up with the friend that's going with me, I haven't seen her in person since the last time this event happened in 2019. You're boozing it up for charity? Dang, more non-profits should do this. I am enjoying frozen yogurt topped with fresh berries. Sort of a cheat dessert, but healthier.

On this issue, I completely agree with moon/Laura. Mistakes happen and, while they sometimes can't be reversed, they can be acknowledged and apologized for. Personally, I could be okay with someone who said, "Oh *&%#, I effed up and hit the wrong button, I thought I was only doing X and I'm sorry I actually did Y and Z". But not hearing a response, not having any acknowledgement is not cool. Moderating is a tough job that carries the burden of accountability.

If you have an iPhone, I think you can look for air tags. I'm sure there's videos on it explaining how to. Only my work phone is an iPhone and I don't mess with it that much.
My neighbor's a city cop. His current car is a Subaru Legacy. The one before that was a Nissan. It's pretty much whatever they get cheap at auctions. Both have been tinted out past what would be legal for me and the state EZ Passes are orange and stick out like crazy.
It is awful that people feel entitled to steal and take what they didn't earn.

The black bean burgers were good. I sent a message off to customer service at Black & Decker for the correct replacement line spool for the trimmer. DH is very happy with his new drill. I am not so happy with DH Tomorrow is more laundry and scrubbing the tub, plus writing out menus for the week. I might get a wild hair and do a major cleaning on the grill, inside and out. Monday night will be soup and sandwich because we have a 6 pm meeting on restricting and the 5-year capital improvement program in our area.

Oh shit oh dear! Picture me wringing my hands and fretting over something that’s not even mine to fix or answer for. I didn’t know which mod was referred to earlier, and I didn’t try to figure it out. But mistakes do happen, I’ve made some myself IRL (a shitload of them) and here. In my humble opinion, when a mistake is made, the first thing to do if you have some sense of integrity, is take responsibility for it and say yes, I did do that. Then explain yourself if it’s appropriate, even if you know whoever has to deal with your mistake doesn’t really want to hear shit you have to say. And apologize if you are sincere, even if you feel your apologies might be falling on deaf ears. I’m really just like “EEEEEK” about this whole situation.

One of my coworkers has air tags on his keys, and on his son’s remote control for son’s tv because he always loses it lol. He showed me how they work by giving me his keys and walked away to show me how his phone could lead him to exactly where his keys were (in my hand). I think I’ve seen something saying how you can check for AirTags if you have an iPhone, but I didn’t actually read it. Yeah, it is awful that people feel entitled to steal from other people that worked for whatever they have. I can’t stand a thief.

I agree and the is the mod I thought it was. I only see 3 mods ever online and two said it wasn't them. She not only owes you an explanation of how she did it but she does owe all of us an apology.

I LOVE my Vionics. I was getting back pain, joint pain, etc., from walking, but bought some Vionics, and now I can walk pain-free. @pinkcshmere , can you record this car that is hanging around your neighborhood? Duly noted. Sadly, crime seems to be spreading everywhere right now. I'm a city girl, but I'm well outside the city now, and today I thought I spotted a drug exchange within a mile from my house. I'm well aware that drug use is increasing in my community, as just in the last year spent needles have been found on the ground near our local grocery store, but I don't like the speed of negative changes here. We all need to be more alert, I guess...
