No one knows what the reasoning was - or if it was accidental - because the mod who did it can't be bothered to respond to my PM. Hope I'm not overstepping the bounds by replying to this, but if it is who I think it is, she has mentioned in the past she does not have time to read PM's very often. No excuse. Anyone can certainly take the time to see WHO sent messages, then decide whether it requires a quick response. And in this case, a message from me should be a priority. I know they were online earlier today.

If a new mod position opens up please pick me. I volunteered in the past but didn't get one. I've only been warned and deleted a few times, but never a time out. Pick me, pick me.

Good morning! I've had a breakfast sandwich and am starting my coffee. My headache is still present. However, DH has been insanely busy this morning though. He's loaded up the remainder of our potted plants and the compost barrel into his truck and utility trailer. They're going to a friend's house for the next few weeks while we're between properties. I will finish loading the trailer with our clothing and food that is still in the house. I'll pack up the remainder of television paraphernalia and kitchen utensils. DH will take the last load to the storage unit while I do homework.

Still getting used to not working weekends. This is my first one home with no kids here since maybe November! I was kicking back and enjoying them earlier this month, but today I need to buckle down and start getting caught up on postponed chores. Going to start by cleaning the chicken coop. So is your new job M-F now? Or you just won't have to work OT anymore to make what you were making before? I was always M-F, but was working a lot of OT for year-end in 2021 and a crazy Q1 this year where the push was all 3 months instead of just the last 6 weeks or so like it normally is. Once April 1st hit things died way down again. With the raise, I'm planning on cutting way back on weekend work for the rest of this year.

Poor Bill the Dog. He is not grasping the concept of the empty house. He will be okay once we actually leave the house in the camping trailer tomorrow, but he's been quite stressed this week and its worse today. He actually growled at me when I came into the house from sleeping in the camping trailer.

Omg. I haven't been in KFC for forever. Damn it's gotten expensive. I took Carrot here for his last meal and after seeing the prices I'm letting him eat alone. I'll have something when I get home. A neighbor of mine went there two weeks ago to pick up a 16 piece meal as she was having company over. Price used to be $39 and change. This time it was $54 and change! She left telling the counter person "you're chicken is good, but it is NOT that good" and went elsewhere (grocery store deli). Las time I was there was when Carrot had his tonsils out last August because he wanted their mashed potatoes and then I also got their strips box, which was part of their $5 meal deals (which they don't even have any more). Yesterday it came to $10 with tax for 3 (super skinny) strips, a small fries and a drink.

It’s sobering to know that ten years of collective memories can go poof like that Are we allowed to know what the reasoning was? I was able to go through and screenshot pages 4891 and 4869 from my tablet‘s cache. You‘d think I’d have learned my lesson about backing things up...been burned several times over the last few years by portable electronics being suddenly no longer functional. No one knows what the reasoning was - or if it was accidental - because the mod who did it can't be bothered to respond to my PM. Thanks moon. Kind of mind boggling that someone might do that without warning, or at least a really good reason.

last night was so much fun. I'm now at M's house, picking up the pups. my friend C got to the hotel about an hour before the charity event started. we got ready and went down to the hotel bar to grab a quick appetizer and a round of drinks before starting in on the wine tasting. the event was great as usual, last night's spotlight Wish kid was awesome. 10yo girl who spent her chemo treatments writing song lyrics. her Wish had been to produce and star in a music video, which they played. you can watch here, if you're interested - mirayavibes.com/we didn't stay til the end of the night, we ended up walking around the corner to the Smith & Wollensky's. I'd actually never been to a snazzy steakhouse before. C wanted steak, though. I can find a Caesar salad anywhere. when the bill came, she wouldn't let me pitch in, saying I only had a salad. actually, I had a salad, some of the side of Brussels she ordered for her filet, we split a burrata appetizer, and we had martinis. 🤔🤨 if you say so, kid. thanks for dinner! this morning, I was happy I had bundled breakfast into the room rate. the tab for two breakfast buffets was $90 😳 it was in the French brasserie inside the hotel, so it was a fantastic spread. I had thick slices of whole wheat toast with cream cheese, lox, tomato, onion, and capers. I'm set til dinner now. sorry for rambling, I so missed this particular event. it's for such a great cause, and C and I always make a big night of it.

Washing the last of my laundry. Once I put the last load in I'm going to bathe myself and go to Sam's. After that who knows. I should go to Aldi, but I'll probably do that tomorrow morning.

Lowe's didn't have the trimmer line for our model and they no longer make a battery for our very old cordless drill. We decided to go with a nice heavy duty Dewalt corded drill/driver which will outlast both of us. I'll have to call Black & Decker to find out what the new part number for the trimmer line is

I let my inner OCD personality take over yesterday and today. After DH died, I got rid of the filing cabinet and reduced what I had saved to a plastic milk crate. And then I think I quit filing. Lol. That was almost 3 years ago. I just let it stack inside a box. Yesterday I bought a new thumb drive and started scanning and shredding the newer stuff. A lot in the filing crate will have to be shredded, too. I'm still in the boot for my ankle so it isn't a bad project. When I finish, I need to tackle the income tax stuff. Everything is in a nice manilla envelope by year, just waiting for a burglar to take one home with them! DH was a great filer! One more reason why I miss him so much . . .

Dd tripped on our morning run. I definitely think she hurt herself and no one can feel someone else's pain, but she's so dramatic about everything. I totally understand how my parents waited 3 days to take me to the doctor when I had broken both wrist bones. It's impossible to gage how serious anything is with her.
I'm also taking her in for a haircut today to shave the underside of her hair. Combing her hair is torture for both of us.

I now have red, blue, green those are Vans, yellow and orange.
I count the mauve pair as purple but if I ever find purple purple I will pounce.

Well, I went to bed as soon as we got home today and just now got up. I'm doing OK. I have injections on the left side scheduled for next month. At least they got the IV going the first time around this time! I'm going to nothing until we head out later. I do need to change clothes and put on some makeup so I look alive, but that's it. My plan is to just lie around for the next couple of hours and not do anything. Sounds like many of you are having productive days! We like Popeye's chicken. There are always coupons for it in the monthly flyer pack, so we don't ever pay full price. Their chicken is good and not horribly pricey. I don't remember when we ate KFC last. They just got too stingy and costly.

They''ll probably have purple around Dodge City, Kansas if that will help you. The school colors are purple and gold and they always had purple when I went to school there. (Our school colors were also purple and gold.) Or look around any colleges that have purple as a color.

Back in the hotel room after the Berkshire Meeting.
Good stuff: BF enjoyed it as much as I did. He’d expressed concern that he might feel like “a fish out of water” but it was populated by people who looked pretty much like us- down-to-earth and comfortably dressed. If you have any interest in business you can appreciate the Q&A sessions- lots of interesting facts and common sense. Warren seemed to ramble a bit more but heck, he’s 92 and Charlie Munger is 98.
We both stocked up on discount Fruit of the Loom underwear, walked through a life-size model of a NetJets plane cabin, and found nothing we had to own at Pampered Chef. Same with Justin Boots- discounts of 1/3 off retail but nothing I felt compelled to take home. That’s a good outcome for me. We bypassed the line of people waiting to go through a couple of obscenely large RVs. It was cool to see the MSNBC anchors (Kelly Quick and a guy I didn't recognize) being broadcast live from the exhibit hall.
Turned out that when I actually TRIED to get an Uber none was available but the drive to the shuttle stop was easy and waits on both ends were short. I tipped the driver $5 each way.
Bad stuff: They CONFISCATED my $7 Subway sandwich at the entrance. I knew that arenas do this but thought it might be different for a shareholders meeting. I found a place with acceptable food at insane prices and passed up the $4.50 bottled water. BF did get a Dilly Bar for $1.
Overall a good day. BF's son-in-law is playing in a soccer game to be broadcast at 3 PM and I'll head for the gym. We'll figure out dinner later.

Good day, Sunday morning for me. When De gets up we are driving a few hours to a National park with caves and a thermal pool. I have been dreaming of a “medicinal soak” to cure all my ailments.

In sad news, our friend M who had brain surgery a few weeks ago is back in the hospital and it’s not good. We will find out more tomorrow with results from tests but it is suspected cancer has spread to other organs. She will not be leaving the hospital anytime soon, which is a good thing because they can manage her pain. M’s brother came down, and is staying at her house as long as necessary to be close by to visit her. That’s so important for M right now.

I have high top Chuck Taylors with the lugged soles, the most comfortable shoes EVER! That’s says a lot coming from me, because I have unhappy feet. I can’t wear regular Converse. Did you know you can customize some styles on Converse’s website? I customized the last pair I bought. I thought you might enjoy that since you seem to like different colors.
