I started utility quilting the quilt MIL gave me to have fun with. I am pleased I let it percolate for a decade. I think what I'll end up with will be so much better. My family room looks like joanne's barfed up all over it. I have to start thinking about what to put away.

Can’t the peacock (soup’s not drama’s) guard pink’s yard? Or does my head hurt to much too and I’ve misunderstood those situations? No, @pinkcshmere needs guinea fowl. They roost up in the trees and make a truly horrendous noise if anything comes around. And the hens aren't bad to eat, just saying. But that pic is exactly what our neighborhood bird looks like in a sort of miniature version. Pink Cashmere needs some guard geese. They make one hell of a racket, and they BITE!

Good morning and welcome to Saturday, you sapient sylphs of Y Ma'am. I hope your day is entirely delightful. DH and I are at a very nice and historic inn on the Eastern shore. We had a memorable meal here last evening, celebrating the agreement to buy the house in Massachusetts. Will execute the purchase proposal on Monday, have the inspection Tuesday that will be attended by my oldest brother, then move on to the PSA ratification with 5% of the purchase price to be held by the title company or the attorney--not sure how it works in Mass. In Maryland title companies do everything, but attorneys seem to be the operatives in Massachusetts. In the meantime we will go on the tasting crawl ken a.k.a OMK mentioned. I filed our taxes before we left, and docusigned the purchase offer yesterday, so nothing is hanging over me.

I am happy to know it wasn't something I did yesterday morning that ate the thread. I am so sorry to know it's gone.

Good morning! I have my SI joint injection this morning and a dinner at the American Legion tonight. DH went to the VFW last night and brought home dinner for me. He's so good to me! Hoping you all have a superlative Saturday!

Berkshire meeting this morning. Since I didn't want to spend $500 (!) per night in a hotel close by with shuttle service we were planning to drive to a lot with shuttle service- but I just found that Uber is available and reasonable . I will fanatically monitor my data usage on my cell phone plan to make sure I won't go over my 1 gig data allowance because, you know, it would add $7 to my bill, but there are times when I choose a more expensive option for speed and comfort. I'm happy!
When I searched for the site to get the address, I saw that Berkshire A shares are at $484,340. That was a decrease of $14,660 yesterday. Heck, I don't even own enough B shares to make up one A share.

So this weekend is way less busy than the past few. The plant club at school was giving away some plants, so I got 2 tomatoes, a cucumber and 3 mystery squash. So I will be planting those today. Tomorrow I have my morning yoga and tea, and then a home game at 3. And that is pretty much it for the weekend. It is nice but it feels odd.

Just about ready to take off from Nuremberg. Did a tour this morning on a coach of the old, Nazi section then spent the better part of the rest of the time walking the walled old city. We could have gone back to do more city roaming this afternoon, but if I go back I will buy and I don’t want to buy…..we have very little luggage space so need to choose things judiciously. So others are going back, and we will pick them up down river (or is it up river??). I think we are going to get dumped on, it looks like rain.
Viking is pretty good about getting historians as tour guides, and we had a good one this morning. When we got to Germany, there have been guides who have whitewashed Nazi Germany, and others who haven’t. Today’s was pretty blunt.
So we are back on board, there is a historian lecturing in the lounge in 10 minutes, so will go hear him. When 8 come back, I find that I want to read more about what I learned.

Congrats on the house finnimeI was so hot in my suite and could not get the room cooled down. Seems the building had not switched over to a/c, which happened yesterday. Now I am quite comfortable. I do miss the old thread. So many memories, good and bad, there. I'm sure that's true for each of us.

Is it very spicy? I'm a wuss. Yes, I know exactly how brown I am. My dad makes fun of me for being Mexican and not eating spicy food. I don't think it's real bad, but I'm pretty desensitized to spice. It does have a bit of kick. Then it's way too much for me. That's unfortunate. Maybe I'll get it for my kid. She eats all the spicy things.

It’s sobering to know that ten years of collective memories can go poof like that Are we allowed to know what the reasoning was? I was able to go through and screenshot pages 4891 and 4869 from my tablet‘s cache. You‘d think I’d have learned my lesson about backing things up...been burned several times over the last few years by portable electronics being suddenly no longer functional.

Does anyone have any good resources to read up on trusts? We are meeting with an estate planning attorney next week and my impression is that we don’t need one just yet but definitely should set one up before we die...obviously easier said than done!

Still getting used to not working weekends. This is my first one home with no kids here since maybe November! I was kicking back and enjoying them earlier this month, but today I need to buckle down and start getting caught up on postponed chores. Going to start by cleaning the chicken coop.

I have a busy day planned. I’m going to watch my DGD’s gymnastics class then celebrate her birthday which was earlier this week. Maybe do lunch with them if they don’t have other plans. I want to go get some strawberries too as the fields are open for picking. DH picked up some last Sunday and they were so sweet that I want more.
the grandkids will be in town this week, so we’ll go strawberry picking then too. It will be fun to see how the littlest one do at it. Maybe we’ll make jam.

I have 2 new kitties! Ollivander and Dumbledore. Someone was into Harry Potter. They are absolutely darling! They have bobbed tails. I'm not sure if they came by them naturally or had them amputated but it's cute to see the little bob quiverung when doing butt scritches. On the Hera front, she started coming downstairs again but I really wish I knew what she wants when she's squawking at me!

Crap, guess I need another cup of coffee! I read 2 kittens instead of 2 kitties. 2 and 4 still enjoy playtime, so have fun while they're with you

We are meeting with an estate planning attorney next week and my impression is that we don’t need one just yet but definitely should set one up before we die...obviously easier said than done! I purchased "The Trustee's Legal Companion" after Dad died. I read it and I made sure my brother read it. It can be overwhelming to suddenly have to take on another person's business and income streams in addition to what you are already juggling. This book gives story like examples as it describes the legal jargon that trustees are faced with. The book is presented as a guide for people who are tasked with administering a trust. You can learn about the subject from that point of view. All kids of trusts are discussed. Living trusts, charitable trusts, special needs trusts and so on. The thing is like a Sears Catalog, so there's a lot of information in there. Amazon has it for less than $30.

Well, I called that one correctly. While we were listening to the lecture this afternoon, the skies opened and it poured. We’d have gotten caught in it and drenched had we returned to the city after lunch.
Interesting lecture about Bavaria and it’s rulers. Wish he had gone more into Mad King Ludwig, guess I’ll have to open up a history book on that one. I remember reading a biography of one of the other rulers at the time who was a friend of his.

I'm just kicking around the house today. Going to pot up some seedlings, do some laundry, dust, and probably have a Netflix break somewhere in there.

I'm being good. I'm working on our family room, which has been a huge dumping ground lately.
I got clothes for the missy, so I'm going through her old stuff. Between that and a bag left over from decluttering this winter, I'll have enough to warrant a st vinnies run. I also donated a couple of stitching things (!).
I should get stuff ready to mail out too today.

Breakfast, followed by Swiffering floors and cleaning toilets. Got a load in the dryer too. We have to make a run to Lowe's or HD for a battery for the cordless drill and line for the line trimmer.
Supper will be a quick fix - black bean burgers with cotija cheese and avocado.

So is your new job M-F now? Or you just won't have to work OT anymore to make what you were making before?

Omg. I haven't been in KFC for forever. Damn it's gotten expensive. I took Carrot here for his last meal and after seeing the prices I'm letting him eat alone. I'll have something when I get home. A neighbor of mine went there two weeks ago to pick up a 16 piece meal as she was having company over. Price used to be $39 and change. This time it was $54 and change! She left telling the counter person "you're chicken is good, but it is NOT that good" and went elsewhere (grocery store deli).
