Noooo! Ask your vet for an anti-anxiety medication for michi. give it to him well in advance of the flight. he'll be out like a light. This is no longer recommended for travel, especially in an animal if flying cargo. They do not always go out like a light, but are horribly unsteady. Because they cannot adjust their balance while drugged, when the carrier is moved they are more likely to be injured. I’ll never do it again, I’d rather have a pissed off howling cat than a dead one I suggested the anti-anxiety meds so that she could take him with her on the plane, as carry-on. Animals die in cargo. Animals get lost in caego.

Pink, I am glad you are back, and agree we should buy things we want. I ordered new curtains for dining room & living room. A rug for the basement, new bathmat, and a couple of towels this am. I did consult with DH b/c I wanted his input.
Came here to comment the book Girls who code was banned in a Pennsylvania school district? The article I read did not list any reason?
I am supposed to be reconciling. I am laying on my heating pad. DD, her boyfriend and some friends are in Cancun. Hope they do not have hurricane issues.

Ava, I am going to post a very unpopular opinion, but it was only a couple of weeks ago that you posted an ad to rehome Michi. You feel responsible for the pet you adopted, which is admirable, but you aren't bonded. I would not traumatize the pet and/or empty my savings to move a pet that I was not bonded to. There are other good homes - find one! And then you can adopt another cat when you get settled in Uruguay. I am a pet lover. But there is also a thing called common sense. Michi and you have not bonded to that extreme. Ok, I am going to be hiding under a desk somewhere.

Some of the treats has made kitty's fur like silk, it's so soft and shiny. They are healthy kitties for sure. They both go in October for shots, will have their nails trimmed while there also.
I checked on pneumonia shots for all of us. Hubs and I are good, but DD needs the new one. Looks like I have to get a scrip for her for that one as she is under 65.
The AC was on, it 75 outside but the wind blowing is pretty chilly. I turned it off and expect to have to turn on the heat again tonight and definitely Tuesday night, those days are coming fast. I will not be able to open the windows much now as the stink bugs are back, found a couple in the house already.
Hubs and I went to get some tile trim for the rental and while out went to Cracker Barrel for lunch. It was packed and slow, but we finally got fed. I had chicken and dumplings, fried apples, and pinto beans, good lunch, brought half home and just finished up the rest. Brought DD her favorite taco bell. I bought her a fair sized baby Yoda for Christmas, she will like that, I need to wrap it.
Thinking of a quick nap, I have a Smokey cat asleep beside me, so making me sleepy too. Want to carry some summer clothes downstairs shortly.

The thing with buying things we want, I can say I want to buy this and that for the house, or even just for me, and Mister will pay for it. But things that only have to do with him and his wants, he usually won’t do it without some pushing. He is very reluctant to buy or pay for things just because he wants it. Me, on the other hand, if I’ve fulfilled all my responsibilities, including my savings accounts, whatever money I have left after all that, I have no problem spending however I want. I didn’t spend much money on myself when I was raising my children, even if it was “extra” money, so I get it. But I also didn’t have the disposable income Mister has, and I did not not have a partner, like he has with me.

I think she hasn't bonded with Michi because she does not want to. The kitten is not Dali and I think she resists bonding with Michi because of it. I am also concerned she is going to live with her mom in Uruguay, when she has chosen to blame her mom the most on Dali's loss. While I always expected her to return to her country, it feels like a knee jerk reaction to Dali's loss and leaving the scene of the crime. Its only been since the end of July. Moving out of the country is a major life decision that most therapists should question their clients on. I know mom made a mistake, but I think it would be healthier to focus on what she did and did not do. If Dali had been chipped, she had a shot at retrieving him. I do agree if she continues to shut Michi out it would be better to be rehomed.

Yes, she does. And yes, I'm happy we sorted it out. We've been friends for 25 years and we've kept in touch even before Whattsapp and other technology. It would make me sad to let go of that friendship. Particularly now that we'll be living in the same city. I didn't realize that you would be living in the same city when you go back home. That's fun! Well, that's not surprising at all. There's only one big city, Montevideo. Half the country's population lives there.

I appreciate opinions that are well meaning, like yours is, even if they are not what we want to hear. When I was thinking about rehoming Michi, I had just arrived from RI. I was raw with pain. He boarded at the vet and he went crazy on the drive back home from the vet when I picked him up. He gets like that when on the car. I felt so overwhelmed, and I thought I can't stand this. I posted him to rehome and I immediately took it down. I love pets, I feel responsible for him. He has mellowed as he feels more comfortable at home. Plus, he's been my companion since mom left. He doesn't leave my side. At night he sleeps in bed with me and tries to console me when I cry. I don't have it in me to give him away. I'll find the best travel method for his situation.

Social anxiety rearing it's ugly head. I said too much in small group. More than I've said in the past several years. Maybe it needed to be said. I have 3 unsolvable issues that I didn't elaborate on. Later I commented on how I used to fight insomnia thinking I couldn't get through the next day. Now I look at what I have gratitude for like a nice bed, bedroom, clean air, clean water. How perfect everything is where I am at. In those minutes. Eventually I go back to sleep. Another lady said she will start doing her lesson during her insomnia.
The leader is new and young. Probably concerned about maintaining direction of the group.

I do agree if she continues to shut Michi out it would be better to be rehomed. I would say what happened is directly related to my decision to leave. Yes, it is. Because it was the last straw. I've been unhappy here for years, and it made me realize I'm wasting my life here, while everyone I love and the type of life I want to live exist somewhere else. While Im here alone. As for Michi, is not that I didn't want to bond. If that were the case, I wouldn't have taken him in. It took longer than I thought, and it was more difficult than I thought it would be. But we're getting there, now that we're alone. He's been a fantastic companion, very sweet, fun, good company.

Ok, got the driver's license renewed online, got money from the HSA, and got the Jury Duty postponed till August 2023. Now I'm going to investigate options for the CPE credits, then call it a day and watch something in Britbox. Fortunately, was able to get a few things done today.

Yesterday, Mister didn’t have to work, but he was already up and out of bed before I got up to go to work.
He said he was up so early because his Mom called him. She is still in the hospital and has been pretty much “out of it” and unresponsive, the whole time. So her calling him was a very big deal.
He said she told him that she knew his Dad had been telling them she was okay, but in reality, she was very far from okay. She said she saw her sisters, and they told her it wasn’t time yet for her to go, and that motivated her to keep fighting. She said Mister’s niece (7 or 8yo and the most charming child I’ve ever met) drew her a picture and that motivated her to keep fighting, for her Grandbaby.
She has no reason to lie to Mister, and he has no reason to lie to me about what she said. All I can do is pray that she keeps seeing reasons to fight to live.
She has to go to a rehabilitation place or something because they have started dialysis since she’s been in the hospital.
Mister is not getting good info from his Dad, which I’ve mentioned before. I don’t work on 2 weekdays and wouldn’t mind going to the hospital to be with her and get a better idea of what exactly is going on with her. But I’m use to trying to stay in my lane with Mister’s family and idk how that would be received.
So I just keep praying for her.

Back from 2 weeks at the Jersey shore. Really very nice sunny weather but ocean was very rough. Signs posted Di Not Enter the Water. Very bad rip currents, 2 people drowned. No life guards in September and powerful rip tides, some people persist trying anyway So unfortunately Jerseyguy had gout and mostly just stayed on the couch. Friend and I went to beach ( not swimming!) shops and restaurants. Both of us met long time friends from college days New rental house was very nice. Very comfortable furniture and beds. House nicely updated with everything gray LOL While we were there cape cod across street demolished, a huge new house will be built there all the typical cape cods are being demolished and huge new houses built. My friend from college has a cape cod and 3 on her small street have been demolished this summer Realized saw no solar panels on houses on the island. Probably too expensive for smaller older homes even though sun is strong there. Unlike the older houses with big expanse of roof, the huge new houses have very broken up roof lines with dormers, towers, etc so impractical to put up solar panels Two big windmill ‘farms’ will be built off the coasts. Lots of signs- put them 35 miles at sea Folks talk a lot about climate change and we see it but in actuality don’t want to do anything

Vet told me no longer recommended, fairly recently. Do you have more current info than a few years ago?

The Walk of the Penguin Mich Wow! That's a long flight with a cat. How did you get him to remain quiet during the flight if you didn't give him anti-anxiety medication? Michi howls like someone is murdering him when traveling by car. I can't imagine what it would be like for him on a plane. There has to be something he can take in order to make the flight bearable for him, for me, and for everyone around. I would love to bring him along with me instead of shipping him cargo. Even if I decide to bring him with me, I may ask the relocation company to take care of all the paperwork. I don't want to have travel delayed because we don't have the right documentation. There are many options and I'm sure I'll find the right one. Good that I have time to research and decide. I have done both, but prefer to carry on with me. Like I said, Gizzy howled like he was being murdered until we got to the airport then he was quiet. So just because he howls in the car, don’t assume he will howl on the flight. Does he howl in the carrier? Sheldon doesn’t howl until he gets into the car either. If Michi is in his carrier and can see you, does he howl? You can get a screened carrier so he can see you. I think that’s the trick. About whether he will pee or poop, I can’t help you there. Gizzy did well. The first time I flew with him, I got to Detroit and we were delayed by thunderstorms. We didn’t leave until after midnight, got into SEA around 3 am and didn't get home until around 5 am. I was seriously worried that we were going to be stuck at the airport overnight on that flight and I had no food for him in my carry on.

I got home a big ago after traipsing around the small cemetery for a while. My great great grandma's headstone was broken by vandals. The cemetery was vandalized several years ago. I had not been there since that happened. The jerks went after the old headstones. Probably easier to topple, but why?
I took pictures. It's a small head stone, maybe 18 inches high. Her husband's is about 4 ft tall. That says something about women in the 1890's. I'm going to send the photos off to the people who did my monument to see if it can be fixed.
Just talked to the Toddler. He refused his nap this afternoon and he's ready for bed an hour early. He asked to go to bed.
NIL explained in laymen's terms the OpEd she wrote for the Guardian about Putin and the war in Ukraine.
Toddler has learned one of the nursery rhymes that I learned in school and that DN1 learned. NIL said they didn't do anything like that in Ukraine.
Going to empty my suitcase and head for bed myself.

Lots of signs- put them 35 miles at sea Folks talk a lot about climate change and we see it but in actuality don’t want to do anything I know. I was in two Zoom discussion groups last week participating in a study of opinions on climate change. I get brownie points I can redeem for $50 in CVS gift cards but it was also really interesting. I honestly think nuclear is the cleanest, safest form of energy - Chernobyl was pretty much a textbook in everything that could go wrong (so we can use it to learn) and the Russians violated tons of their own safety rules, which are more lax than ours. In the meantime, though, I see my little Honda Civic dwarfed in parking lots by F-150s and SUVs. Yesterday I saw one parked, locked with the engine and A/C running outside a store. Makes me grind my teeth. You cannot tell me every one of those shiny, squeaky-clean trucks is needed for someone's gainful employment. Buildings are overly cooled in summer. I swear some people (my Ex was one) cool houses in summer to temps they wouldn't tolerate in the winter and vice versa. I've looked at solar panels but am not impressed with the idea of borrowing $50K to put them on (or paying for them outright) and hoping they'll pay for them in electricity savings. The math just doesn't work If I took out a loan and then wanted to sell the house, it would have to be paid off- either the new buyer borrowing or paying a higher price for the house or (more likely) out of my equity. Anyway- rant over. This was another "volunteer overload" day and more to come, mostly church-related. Got home from running a vestry meeting after church (with more stuff on my To Do list) and the Garden Club President wanted a Treasurer's Report as f today since neither she nor I will be at the 10/4 meeting. Got that together and sent it to her. Next Sunday- leave for Des Moines after the church picnic following the service, take granddaughters to Chicago for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, leave Des Moines Friday because I have a Diocesan Council meeting back in KC Saturday from 10-3 and then Sunday another vestry meeting because we changed them to the second Sunday of the month so the financial reports aren't "stale". I tell people who wonder what they'll do after they retire to volunteer, no matter what their skill set. It can suck up your whole life if you don't say No once in awhile. And Pink, welcome back!

You haven't heard howling until you've heard siamese howling. Sushi howls the minute he's in the carrier and doesn't stop. Cars were moving away from us, thinking it's an ambulance. The vet prescribed kitty valium.

Had a pretty good trip to visit DS, even though we didn't stay too long. He'd already ate so wasn't interested in being taken out for lunch, so we just hung out on the deck for awhile and talked about how things were going. I must say I was pretty surprised how neat the place was considering there are 4 college guys living there. I mean it wasn't perfect, there were dishes piled in the sink and some clutter around, but not worse than my house most days and their pantry area was neatly organized with quite the stash of food. Also, while I don't think I'd like living in the city, he does have a really cool view from the deck. He said he likes to get up extra early in the morning to sit out there and eat his breakfast and it's really pretty at night.

When we moved about eight years ago, my Siamese screamed all the way. Also pooped in her crate. It was about an hour and a half drive. However, when she got into the new house, she was over the moon happy. We got her as a stray who wandered up all skinny. She also had dented fur around her neck where someone left a collar too tight for too long. We're pretty sure she got dumped. Anyway, when she figured out we moved and actually took her with, she jumped for joy!

I'm also just sick of listening to Yankees this, Judge that. especially . after the NY media throwing him under the bus last year or the year before, as "not being able to handle the NY market" just, enough. NY isn't the be all, end all for baseball. and if there's an issue with the record holders? wipe the records. 🤷♀️

I would volunteer you'd be willing to do that for him, if he'd like since you can go during a weekday day shift to speak to a nurse. This has to be hard on him.

I've got a more unpopular opinion. I'm glad you are adjusting to him. My hairless guinea pig is a rescue, and it has been a long road. I do hope it works out for you going in March.

Yes we do care! judge and Maris have clean records. The others used steroids. Aaron has been a fan favorite since coming on the Yankees. the others operated under the rules at the time. I'm also just sick of listening to Yankees this, Judge that. especially . after the NY media throwing him under the bus last year or the year before, as "not being able to handle the NY market" just, enough. NY isn't the be all, end all for baseball. and if there's an issue with the record holders? wipe the records. 🤷♀️ I’m not real clear on how you feel on the subject. Care to elaborate Oh, and to set the record straight I couldn’t have said it any better.

Sitting here waiting for my old phone to charge up enough to turn on. I need to log into work for awhile tonight to get a head start on a few things for hell day tomorrow, but the phone I have my mobile pass on for the VPN is dead. A bunch of it I can't do until after midnight, but don't think I'm going to stay up that late.
