Good morning, sages of Y Ma'am, invisibly weaving the stories of our lives into a whole. Happy Sunday. I hope your day is a happy one and portends a very good week to follow. Yesterday I turned on the heat for the first time in this house. I have radiators which give a cozy warmth. No drafts and no dry air blowing dust around. The outside temperature had fallen to 46. It was 56 inside before the heat kicked in. Today will be a quiet day. I'm going to the farmer's market to pick up soup bones and some sweet Italian beef sausage. I'll simmer the bones except for the smallest which will end up with Franklin the Dog. The last time I made this soup DH declared it the best he'd ever had. I used a lot of vegetables we had from my DSis's garden and leftover from other meals. Otherwise, life on vacation continues. Yesterday as the sun set I noticed a man fishing from his boat by the hurricane barrier:

We have moved to a new villa, but not on the beach. However we have access to Wi-Fi, ac and if we chose to go, items at a bar 30’ from us. We can hang here until we leave. Even with the spa products I bought (and I bought a bunch) my carry on bag is still not expanded. It is heavy though, and will need to be checked. The staff keeps coming by to say they are sorry we are leaving. So am I! The place is fabulous, but the menu is limited (but good) and so is the dive operation. The breakfast bar always has about 5 different fruits on it, so I have eaten tons of pineapple. They also gave incredible oranges. Papaya is usually there too and TD likes it, I don’t. I don’t like Papaya either. MIL serves it occasionally. My DH likes it too. I would be happy with fruit and a bagel or fruit and oatmeal or even just fruit for breakfast. My life is much more mundane. Woke up at 3 am and checked facebook and someone posted a notice that Kohls has 40% “secret” off coupon. I had a new runner for my basement in my cart. Price went from $79.99 to $47.99. I also bought 2 bath mats and a contour rug for $65.05.

minnesotapaintlady, I hope you have a good day, that you find all you're looking for, and that Gus continues to get healing rest for his poor feet.

I go to sleep with HGTV on (most nights) too. Once in awhile I watch something else, but HGTV works well for me. Nice to see you. I havn't had a TV in my bedroom for over 30 years. It can disrupt sleep cycles, it can lead to obesity and decreases the production of melatonin. When i was younger, the bedroom was for sex, relaxation and sleep. Now it's just for sleep, and cuddling with my 4-legged boyfriend. I do have a pink noise machine which helps me sleep. We don't have a TV in our bedroom either. It annoys DH that I can fall asleep within 5 minutes of going to bed while it usually takes him hours. I always tell him the bedroom is for 2 things - sleeping and sex(though I use a much more crude term). So if we aren't doing it, I'm sleeping.

Yesterday morning it was 60 degrees in the house when we got up and 56 outside. DH turned on the heat for the first time to test the new HVAC. The house was heated to 68 in less than 20 minutes. When it was installed the guy built a special box for it as it was pulling air from all kinds of places, so now it only pulls air through the filtered vent. This has also helped to cut down on dust. Best $5000 we've spent. Though next month is a new METAL roof at $11,000. I had metal at my house before we got married and I have missed it so much when it rains.

Decided as long as Gus seems calm tomorrow morning and takes his meds I'm going to drive to the cities to see the kid. Kind of a waste of money and time when I have so much stuff that needs to get done at home, but whatever, I need a little distraction and I have accumulated quite a pile of stuff by the door to deliver to him over the past month.
Little dude really wanted to go outside today, but it's stall rest for him.
Hope he does better.

Today I think I'm going to make a cream cheese poblano dip I saw a recipe for on tik tock. It looked pretty good. I think we have one more Walmart run today and T1 should be all set up in her new apartment. She better get ready early because the Chiefs play today and I want to watch it.

My nephew and I were moving the couch yesterday and I told him to wait so I could get my bearings so that I could walk backwards down stairs while holding a couch. He says "I can go down if you want." Because I'm 12 inside I immediately started laughing. His face showed instant regret for not thinking before talking. It was hilarious.

Mom's tree is budding new leaves now that it's getting cooler during the day. The leaves are a really vibrant red.
I'm happy because I was worried between all the rain when it arrived and the extreme heat it wouldn't make it.
The trunk was green though which Bob said indicates it's alive so I've been diligently taking care of it.

The pumpkin plant in dad's yard is hemorrhaging pumpkins too.
They are mini pumpkins. We've collected 10 so far and more are popping up.
We're going to be super popular with the neighborhood squirrels this year.

R Pictures like this allow me to move off the corner of walk and don’t walk which is where I live. I get to visit the country thru your post.

Hope he does better. Thanks. We're getting through the first stage, unfortunately, the therapy for getting his feet back will be another year at least. I feel horrible because it's because he's obese. Last time it happened I swore I would get him trimmed down, but 18 months later he's still a tubbie despite barely feeding him anything and sending him to the Amish for 2 months of hard labor. The dude just looks at food and gains weight. It doesn't help that he can get no grass so spends most of his days in a small dirt paddock. If he had several acres to run on he'd get more exercise, but he can't have grass. Like any. I'm going to look into getting him a muzzle.

I do have a TV in my bedroom and watch it till about 9 or 9:30 and then read till 10. I fall asleep easily so I figure it's not hurting me much. We all have to have a few bad habits. It also means I don't watch in the daytime, which I refuse to do. BF and I went to the Garden Club picnic last night. This morning he was observing how different Sunday mornings are- still enjoying coffee but I was working out with a YouTube video and he was surfing the internet. We both miss the big, information-filled Sunday papers. The Kansas City Star just got skinnier and skinnier and kept consolidating and eliminating sections. And Viagra is wonderful That is all.

Can horses get diabetes like people do? I know dogs can be diabetic. I could never lose weight no matter what I ate or did not eat or how much I exercised. I developed diabetes complications and the docs put me on meds to get it under control. Those meds helped me lose the weight. Then they lowered and took me off the meds. Life is better now. Anyhow, I can certainly relate to not being able to lose weight no matter how hard I try.

It's easier to quit that when she lives a six-hour drive away.

We had a really good day yesterday. SIL took the kids so we had an entire child free afternoon and evening.
I got a lot of compliments on my Lisa Frank T shirt. I said I'm at a 90s vintage fest this was my shirts opportunity to shine wasn't going to miss it!
We watched Thor Love and Thunder. Don't get the hate. I enjoyed it. It's an entertaining movie. I really like Bale and Crowe in their respective roles.

Hard to say what came first the obesity or the Cushings. But its tough for him to lose weight.

Got home about 10 last night. By 10:30, both of us were out. Drinking coffee right now, had the foresight to pick up some coffee cream with a long expiration date before we left. Back to the real world.
The refrigerator is empty, other than for some eggs, cans of sparkling soda and cheese. Today’s chores are to pick up Harriet and the grocery store. Can’t pick up Sheldon until tomorrow as the kennel is closed today. I missed those brats!
