I got a speeding ticket. Actually 2, in the very same place. Ugh. I paid the fees but I'm trying to avoid getting points and increased insurance rates. It just occurred to me, I've been hand writing tons of notes. It's taking me forever. I think I can just read through it (online), and use my phone to look up answers for the test. That would be much easier and faster. But I'm not home, so can't do it that way, now. 🤔

The real estate agent came by on Monday to take a look at the condo. He said it's in good condition and he doesn't see any problem selling it. The sale should net me something after all expenses. We decided to put it up for sale in December, while I'm in Uruguay. The idea is to close in March, if possible. So being able to show it in December will give him more time. Then I should get something from the sale of my car. I looked online, I should net a few thousands after satisfying the loan on it. I'm hoping I get a bonus at work. The old company used to pay the bonus in February March, but I have no idea if the new company does the same. I guess since I would have worked for all of 2022 I would qualify for the bonus. It would be a good chunk of change for me in my current situation. All in, I expect to net about $20,000 between the sale of the condo, the car, and the bonus. With some money saved from paychecks and the last paycheck, I should be able to net $25,000 when I leave. Of course I'll have expenses, such as my moving, Michi's transportation, etc. Just keep in mind that you still need to be employed at a company to get a bonus when it’s paid if you qualify for it. Just good for thought.I’m sorry your friend reacted the way she did. That really stinks! I think it’s great you decided to move back to back home. I hope you keep posting. I love reading your posts. 😁 That's not true in our line of work. If you worked during the year, you still get a bonus when you leave or sometimes after. It may just be prorated.

Just keep in mind that you still need to be employed at a company to get a bonus when it’s paid if you qualify for it. Just food for thought. That's not true in our line of work. If you worked during the year, you still get a bonus when you leave or sometimes after. It may just be prorated. Check your Employee Handbook, which is probably on-line. At all the places I've worked you still had to be employed there when bonuses were given out or you lost it.

Waiting for the 5 pm update from NOAA on our tropical storm soon-to-be hurricane Ian. We are as ready as we can be here. The generator was just serviced, the roof is fairly new (8 years old, though the house was built pre-Andrew standards in 1983), we have lots of food, water, pet stuff, meds, paper goods, flashlights and mini battery-powered TV. I am doing laundry and cleaning the house, keeping the gas tank on my car full. It was kind of interesting going to Walmart this morning after practice. A ton of newbies have moved to the state, and you can tell who they are when they shop for a hurricane. They are in severe panic mode, like they knew nothing about this weather phenomenon before today.
As a fellow hurricane survivor, I hear you and I'm glad you are as ready as a person can be. If you haven't already, grab some cash in small bills because with the power out, businesses go to cash only. The newbies are both amusing and annoying. Did the bank thing earlier today -- it was my last item on the list. As of 5 pm we are out of the cone, but the storm still has at least three days before arrival. My brother is on the west coast, north of Tampa. His house is newer than mine but he has done squat to maintain it. It's a mess. My niece is in Orlando, living in a house built in the 1960s. But she and her hubs renovated and replaced and did the work, so I think it actually stands a better chance of survival.

The newbies are both amusing and annoying. They bitched about the lines in the store at checkout. Seriously...what did they expect?

I looked in the Employee Handbook and couldn't find anything regarding bonuses. Next step, I'll ask my manager and if he doesn't know I'll ask him to direct me to the appropriate HR person. I'm just going to say I have a big expense coming in March and I need to know when bonuses are paid.

Sitting in San Francisco, waiting for our flight to Vancouver. So far, everything has gone according to plan. The spa products added 12 lbs to my luggage. I knew they were heavy, but not that much! Had to check it anyway.
Just found that the rubber handle on my Victorinox bag is ripping. This bag is about 20 years old and has a lot of miles on it. I have another bag ordered, on back order from Amazon and I’m not holding my breath for receiving it. It was ordered early July for an Aug 30 delivery. That didn’t happen. I think it is a discontinued bag, as it is not available on the website. Guess I’ve gotta go looking again. My sister said she is leaving for WA on Wed. She said that her dog has been acting out. Poor pup knows something is going on. I have to say, being in Fiji was a nice break from playing Sigmund Freud for her. The next few months are going to be…….interesting. I might need a therapist myself before we leave in Dec. I'm so sorry!!

azucenaMy friend has problems in her personal life, but I don't understand why she decided to take it out on me. I'm in a rough spot in my life and she knows it. When she offered to cancel I thought she was being a good friend and trying to do the right thing. But I guess she was ""testing" me to see how I reacted. I'm too tired and stressed to play mind games. Anyway, the ball is in her court now. She bought the ticket and I was sending her the monthly installments. But if she decides not to talk to me again, or to change the date for an extra $400 and come here after I'm gone, guess what, that ticket is not my problem anymore.

She's a few years younger than me, but not 12 certainly. Sounds like she is, doesn't it? It's my guess because she has self esteem and trust issues. It's all I can think of. I took her on her offer to try to cancel at face value, and thought she was truthful when she said she wouldn't get offended. But now she's offended and angry and let down because I told her to try to cancel. Anyway, I'm not calling or leaving any more messages. If she doesn't want to talk to me or doesn't want to come, that ticket is her baby. Nice way to end a 25 year friendship, isn't it? Plus she knows how heart broken, stressed out I am and everything that's happened lately to me. And the tough decisions I'm making with my life and my future.

Last night went in to turn off the desktop computer and my letter had printed out, LOL! I tried to print it again and nope. Crazy thing, now I just need one updated statement for the Miller Trust and that is done. DD and I need to run to town today and make a deposit and pick up milk so need to finish. Just need to vac the 2 bathrooms and DD's bedroom. Not bad at all but once a week using the regular vac. Turned the furnace off this morning supposed to get in the 80's today but it's only 65 out right now. 2 nights from now to be in the 30's, brrrr. Do you still need to vacuum as much, or has the roomba made a difference?

I’m enjoying my Sunday afternoon. Talked to my mom back in the US, now I’m transferring contents of my purse to my new bag. I spent more than I’ve ever spent on a bag. When I did the conversion it turned out to be about $230 USD. Its not a designer brand, but I found it at an Italian leather shop. Very well made, lined in leather as well. I think I will have this for a long time. I needed a dressier looking bag for work, one that had enough room for laptop, water bottle, snacks, etc.
I shopped around the department stores and shops but many of the bags were either too small or they had lots of plastic components, even the designer brands. My bags go everywhere for work, I needed something that was going to hold up.

I am in bed with HGTV on the tv. I’m shutting it down for the night. I like watching HGTV, but it also works as background noise for me. I am going to set the timer on the tv, and just watch HGTV until I start watching the inside of my eyelids. If something is on that I really want to see how it turns out, I record the rest of the episode, so I can still watch the inside of my eyelids without concern that I’ll miss the end result on tv. So goodnight y’all.

mama, I think it has helped. I do vac under things it can't go under and get cat hair there, but yes it's much better than it was. I just use this little one once a week now. I like the way it sweeps along the base boards; I didn't expect it to get that stuff.
We have a strip of wood the length of the room and in the doors where there is tile. It's pretty tall and goes over it, but sometimes I think it gets a bit confused by it, then it goes on. I keep stuff off the floor, pick up shoes, scales, and clothes so it can do a good job. It actually helps DD and I to keep things picked up. It sweeps the low nap area rugs and even bathroom rugs. It keeps all the crumbs picked up under the dining room table off the area rug under it. Oh once in a while it misses some but I have no complaints. It has gotten a string stuck one time and a twister tie and I had to take it apart, which is easy and clean them out. I think I need to order a couple of filters for it, as I will eventually need them. This one is by Shark.
I received the bank statement I need for MIL's paperwork today, so I can go all through the stack and see what I need to tape to pages so they can fax it. Also have to write the case number on all the pages. I'm asking how I handle the money in the Miller Trust, I want that in writing. At one time they said oh just send it in. No way, not going to be accused of $16k not going where it needs to go. I hope I get those instructions and am then finished with that.
Received the new paperwork from Humana today and my drug coverage is going from $73 a month to $80 a month. But the deductible is going from $480 to $300. I noticed in there they are limiting the cost of insulin to people to $25. I'm very happy for those that need it. A few items have raised $5 here and there. Oh, and they approved the Nexlizet from the cardiologist!! He thought they might, I am thrilled. It's $61, but since I'm in the catastrophic coverage for medicare till year end I know these items will raise. I may have our insurance broker look at other drug coverage but I'm thinking this is good as it gets. My supplement is great and will keep it, its $283 a month, wonder how much it will raise. It's plan F and will keep that one forever if I can. It pays 100% of hospital, rest of everything BUT drugs is paid in full.
So waiting to see how much that raises and how much part B raises, probably the amount of our increase in SS we will get next year.

Get a kick out of the kitties. They line up in front of their bowls ready for food. I think that is so cute. I'm sure they understand the words eat and food and other things.
I'm pretty sure if I get too old for them son and DIL will take them. Tigger will transfer well and Smokey might by then too. I just want them well cared for.
I bought Subway when in town, hubs asked if we wanted to go out to eat!! He had agreed on it last night. But he said he wasn't as tired. But DD and I didn't really want to go anyway so that worked.
We all had our baths and jams on by 6:30 on a Saturday night and dinner ate. Lively bunch we are.
I smell that skunk again he must be roaming around right outside.

All of you in the hurricane route or near it, be careful And leave if you need too, but they don't seem to know for sure where it's going yet. I used to dread those.

Heading home in the morning. Going to one more cemetery for a short stop if it isn't raining (it isn't supposed to be). I actually have a headstone in this cemetery and I need to check on it. It was vandalized several years ago and my mom never got around to checking to see if my headstone was damaged.
Then it will be home in time for volleyball streaming on the television, not the computer in the afternoon.
Also have to wash the sheets that arrived that actually fit the new mattress.

I'm off to try & get some sleep, but not sure how much I'll get. Our neighbors, who are normally well-behaved, invited a bunch of friends over, and frankly they're having a rather loud party, complete with a keg. DH isn't thrilled, because he has to get up early for work tomorrow.

Decided as long as Gus seems calm tomorrow morning and takes his meds I'm going to drive to the cities to see the kid. Kind of a waste of money and time when I have so much stuff that needs to get done at home, but whatever, I need a little distraction and I have accumulated quite a pile of stuff by the door to deliver to him over the past month.
Little dude really wanted to go outside today, but it's stall rest for him.

What a sweetheart to have at home with you! Enjoy seeing your son, the kids always appreciate deliveries of goodies from home!

I havn't had a TV in my bedroom for over 30 years. It can disrupt sleep cycles, it can lead to obesity and decreases the production of melatonin. When i was younger, the bedroom was for sex, relaxation and sleep. Now it's just for sleep, and cuddling with my 4-legged boyfriend. I do have a pink noise machine which helps me sleep.
