The real estate agent came by on Monday to take a look at the condo.
He said it's in good condition and he doesn't see any problem selling it.
The sale should net me something after all expenses.
We decided to put it up for sale in December, while I'm in Uruguay.
The idea is to close in March, if possible. So being able to show it in December will give him more time.
Then I should get something from the sale of my car. I looked online, I should net a few thousands after satisfying the loan on it.
I'm hoping I get a bonus at work. The old company used to pay the bonus in February March, but I have no idea if the new company does the same.
I guess since I would have worked for all of 2022 I would qualify for the bonus. It would be a good chunk of change for me in my current situation.
All in, I expect to net about $20,000 between the sale of the condo, the car, and the bonus. With some money saved from paychecks and the last paycheck, I should be able to net $25,000 when I leave.
Of course I'll have expenses, such as my moving, Michi's transportation, etc.

Now I'm trying to take things easy and enjoy the journey, so to say.
I have some projects.
Do my CPE credits for the upcoming license renewal.
My ticket to Uruguay in December allows for two pieces of luggage. I'm sorting through my summer clothes so I take what I want to keep to Uruguay, and leave it there for when I arrive in March.
I'm filling up one of the pieces of luggage.
Then I have to do an appointment with an ophthalmologist, since I'm overdue for that, and also with the dentist.
I have Jury duty in October, but I think I'm going to postpone. I've never postponed, but since I don't plan to stay here, I won't have to worry about it later. I hate Jury Duty.
I also need to renew my driver's license.

I got a black biker jacket, a cute 80s sweater and I got Gwen a sweatshirt.
Went hunting for vintage flair jeans but no luck. I did find my inseam but apparently having two kids moves parts around because that is NOT what my ass was shaped like in HS!
So that was humbling.
I'll have to settle for a new pair. Old Navy has them in my modern day size.

I hope if they don't pay the bonus in March, they would do an exception for me, given my long tenure and my circumstances. I know I'm well liked in the company. As for my friend, I don't know what happened. I don't understand. It's like she's against me now? When she knows I'm in a really bad spot. For weeks I couldn't talk without crying, and she knows it because we talked several times. Yes, I will keep posting and annoying everyone with my stories. I know things will get better for me once I'm in Uruguay. I have friends and family, I love the country, it feels like home. I am confident I can find some job there. Fortunately, my family is in a good financial position, so all I need is a job to cover my personal expenses and to keep me busy and feeling useful. There's a huge demand for educated workers with good command of English. So, I hope something pans out. |

Waiting for the 5 pm update from NOAA on our tropical storm soon-to-be hurricane Ian. We are as ready as we can be here. The generator was just serviced, the roof is fairly new (8 years old, though the house was built pre-Andrew standards in 1983), we have lots of food, water, pet stuff, meds, paper goods, flashlights and mini battery-powered TV. I am doing laundry and cleaning the house, keeping the gas tank on my car full. It was kind of interesting going to Walmart this morning after practice. A ton of newbies have moved to the state, and you can tell who they are when they shop for a hurricane. They are in severe panic mode, like they knew nothing about this weather phenomenon before today.
As a fellow hurricane survivor, I hear you and I'm glad you are as ready as a person can be. If you haven't already, grab some cash in small bills because with the power out, businesses go to cash only. The newbies are both amusing and annoying. |

Chances are if your company had a calendar year end for tax purposes, they’ll pay the bonus before March 15th to get the tax deduction. 😉 |

Busy day here. Fixed breakfast, cleaned bathrooms, spent 2 hours with camera person to finally-mostly get our system up and running again. Made phone calls to close out some bank accounts. We're going out for a seafood dinner and a play.
Tomorrow is grocery run and kitchen cleaning.
Signed and/or initialed 5,000 pieces of paper yesterday for new estate plan. Yes, I'm exaggerating a little.

Went on the walk with my sister. Wanted to take a trail with a loop Missed the loop turn off. The walk that was supposed to be 2.3 ended up being over 6 miles. Oh well it was nice to spend time with my sister.
Just finished my pizza. Enjoying my adult beverage.

I'm so worried about money that I wonder if I should stay another year to be able to save more funds. But I've made my decision and I do not want to wait another year. I don't have any money besides what's necessary to cover my monthly expenses.
Everything else was going to retirement accounts.A week ago I changed my contributions to 5% so I can get the match on my 401k. Then the rest will go to my checking account so I can save it for moving. I got paid yesterday, and it hasn't hit my paycheck yet. So in two weeks I will start saving. I only have until March to save. And I feel like I have so many expenses coming up; my friend's visit. Moving with Michi. I looked online for information on how to move internationally with pets. It looks extremely complicated. So I reached out to two different companies that specialize in moving pets internationally. Both have an online form you have to fill out, and then someone will reach out to you. I filled out the forms last Wednesday, and nothing. My guess is that it will cost around $3,000 to move Michi. But I'm just making up the figure. Who knows how much it will cost? All I see is big upcoming expenses when all I want to do is save money. I'm so stressed right now. Same...and I don't even have any retirement accounts. I went nuts with take-out food because of my broken arm, and I was shocked at how little money I have left. I don't want my upcoming rent cheque to bounce. I went out today because I needed hand soap. It's $3.00. I told myself that was all I was going to buy. While out, I remembered that I'm all out of onions and carrots. I also needed a big bottle of tylenol, because I saw on the news that Tylenol is scarce and some shelves are completely empty. No peanuts left for the squirrels. Long story short, I spent $100. Fuck. |

Sitting in San Francisco, waiting for our flight to Vancouver. So far, everything has gone according to plan. The spa products added 12 lbs to my luggage. I knew they were heavy, but not that much! Had to check it anyway.
Just found that the rubber handle on my Victorinox bag is ripping. This bag is about 20 years old and has a lot of miles on it. I have another bag ordered, on back order from Amazon and I’m not holding my breath for receiving it. It was ordered early July for an Aug 30 delivery. That didn’t happen. I think it is a discontinued bag, as it is not available on the website. Guess I’ve gotta go looking again.
My sister said she is leaving for WA on Wed. She said that her dog has been acting out. Poor pup knows something is going on. I have to say, being in Fiji was a nice break from playing Sigmund Freud for her. The next few months are going to be…….interesting. I might need a therapist myself before we leave in Dec.
