I'm going to go watch DGD1 play T-ball this morning. I'm going to stay with my grand dogs tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night, so DD1 can go to the Raiders football game on Sunday. Hopefully, I will also get some work done on my traffic school class. I need to get it finished, or I've wasted both my time and my money. <eye roll 🙄> I also have a bunch of laundry to do.
If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would get done around here!

Day 2 of moving T1 is today. Yesterday was raining so we moved some smaller things and went to Aldi, Sam's and Walmart. Today we're moving the rest of the stuff. I'm about 2 grand into this move and I'm not excited about it.

Last night went in to turn off the desktop computer and my letter had printed out, LOL! I tried to print it again and nope. Crazy thing, now I just need one updated statement for the Miller Trust and that is done.
DD and I need to run to town today and make a deposit and pick up milk so need to finish. Just need to vac the 2 bathrooms and DD's bedroom. Not bad at all but once a week using the regular vac.
Turned the furnace off this morning supposed to get in the 80's today but it's only 65 out right now. 2 nights from now to be in the 30's, brrrr.

How your weekend improves, MPL. ETA - And I can guarantee that every woman that you think is stronger than you had spent many times breaking down in the shower where no one could see. Hugs too!

Gus is feeling better this morning probably due to the drugs which is a good and bad thing because now he wants to stand up. He's much better off just lying down and staying off his feet like he did all last night so the bones don't rotate as much, but try explaining that to a horse. He's definitely still not feeling well though because he is wanting affection and scratches. Normally he's a PIA, leave me the F alone sassypants.

TheOtherMe, did you find out more about your cousin? My family is so secretive, they would hide details that didn’t put someone in a good light. We would find out the truth years later. Nothing. I sent a text to his brother yesterday. No response.

When do kittens outgrow the allure of toilet paper? We have to keep our roll in the drawer because she makes a toy out of the paper. I haven’t had a cat since I was growing up, and I can’t remember the kitten stage! It's been a long time since I had a cat who shreds toilet paper. My 7 year old cat shreds toilet paper while I am in the shower, not paying attention to him.

Nothing frustrates me more than not being able to find things I know I have, but since my house is such a cluttered mess they're impossible to find. Yesterday it was the LOTR books. Carrot decided he wanted to read them and they're MIA. I know I had them on Dec 18th 2021 because I literally TOOK A PICTURE of them and sent the picture to Ex 2.0 to prove to him I had them so he wouldn't buy them for Christmas. I tried giving them to Carrot then, but he wasn't up for it then and they've fallen into a black hole somewhere...so we headed to the library.
Today, I was thinking I might want to go see DS at college tomorrow and texted him asking if there was anything particular he would want me to bring with. He asked for his raincoat. His raincoat that I KNOW I just saw folded up somewhere in the past week or so. I tore the house apart today trying to find it but no luck. I'm going to Sam's Club today and will probably end up buying a new one if they have them there which will be a complete waste of money.

minnesotapaintlady, I wish you could go back to bed and start this weekend over. Penny and I do that sometimes when thing after thing goes wrong although it never compares to what you are going through!

We have a skunk again. Saw it in the daylight up here the other day. I came home today and wow, it had to have been in the garage. We crack the door so the cats can get in, in case a stray dog is after them. They can get on the top of the tall cabinets and be safe.
I pulled in the garage the smell was awful, I opened some windows. Went in the house and wow, bad, no windows were open. Smoke was huddled by the back door, I smelled him to make sure he was ok, but did he want in the house. He refused to go back out, don't blame him, Tigger was in here already. They have been on the back porch but not for long.
Hubs caught one some time ago and put a tarp around the cage so he didn't get sprayed nor the trailer. I think this one needs to go also since it's around the house too much.
It's beautiful here today, 79, low humidity and just so nice. We got some rain last night. I noted where some farmers are starting to pick corn and saw some beans ready. I imagine the rain raised the moisture content too high, so likely will put off a day or two. I've been seeing a lot of combines and pickers going down the roads. We will have to close the windows for a while, to keep all the dust out once they start.
They dug the potatoes earlier, saw the big machines leaving some time ago. They take them to a washing facility before they haul them out.
Finally got the odor out of here.

Enjoying Totally Rad fest. It's a vintage event.
Not sure how I feel about the 90s being vintage now. It's surreal to watch people half my age vie over stuff I wore the first time around.
But the music is awesome. Got some Salt n Peppa followed by Nsync

deep cleaning got paused when the pups barked at me after I stopped to shower after the dirtier jobs this morning. I threw them in the car and did an errand loop, taking the scenic route. we are home now, and I'm soaking up some vitamin D out on the deck. I will finish the deep cleaning to-do list tomorrow during football.
thinking about dinner options now. my friend J posted that she is "guest bartending" at the Italian place downtown tonight. I could go get takeout there and have a glass of wine while I wait for the order and catch up. I'll probably just stay here and cook something easy. that's free/already spent after shopping today lol...

My Italian Goodfellas sausage and peppers came out great! I made a hoagie with just the peppers and onions. Delicious. Simon will gobble up all the sausage if he ever comes home.

I come back after a week or so, and I find pink gone. If you're reading, pink, please come back. Don't let a problem with one poster take away this place for you. I love reading about your life, see the pictures of your dogs. I know you shared a lot in the boards. We all need a place to vent, away from real life.
I hope you reconsider and start posting again.

I haven't been in a good place since mom left. First of all, work is a convoluted mess and I don't have the brain space to deal with it anymore. I feel like a punching bag, putting up with it as best I can until it's time to leave.
Emotionally, I'm still bad about what happened this summer. I can't even talk about it or mention his name because I start crying. Mom and I talked on the phone and she said, well, but you're in the final months. You should be relieved and happy. But, I'm not. I'm struggling so much.
Some things have happened. I invited a friend to come over and stay with me for two weeks in November. Of course I did it a week before I decided to leave the U.S. We have been friends for over twenty five years, and I thought I knew her well. Besides mom and my therapist, she's the only person I told so far about my plans. I don't plan to tell anyone else until I sign for the sale of the condo. That's how much I trusted her. Priority number one for me right now is to save money. So my invitation to her, which was made in good faith and willing to receive her with open arms and open heart, became now a money pit. She bought the ticket and I'm paying monthly for the installments. Well, she sent me a message yesterday morning saying that as my situation has changed, maybe it's better if she cancels or changes the date of the plane ticket. To let her know, she won't be offended. I answered that I thought it was best to cancel if possible, given my current circumstances. and I would pay the cancellation fee. It's not just the ticket; I have to pay for transport to and from the airport, plus meals, plus some outings. I cant keep her in my condo for two weeks, without going anywhere.
She answered "let me make some phone calls". Then, radio silence. So I asked her this morning if we could talk. She answered with a long message that she was offended. That I obviously consider her an expense and a problem. The ticket is not cancellable and the fee for changing the date is $400. She's very disappointed with me, etc.
I didn't expect all that from her. First of all, I never mentioned her cancelling. I assumed it was something agreed between us that she would come. Then she offered to try to cancel, and gets offended and angry when I said yes, try to do it.
I guess I don't know people as well as I thought.

I sent her a message today saying forget about changing the ticket, it's just too messy. Come over, I'll organize your stay and you'll have a great time. That was this morning, she hasnt even looked at my message yet. This is exactly what I dont need right now that Im dealing with so much stress, plus grieving, and feeling lonely, worried about the future, worried about money. And it's my supposed best friend turning on me.

Waiting for the 5 pm update from NOAA on our tropical storm soon-to-be hurricane Ian. We are as ready as we can be here. The generator was just serviced, the roof is fairly new (8 years old, though the house was built pre-Andrew standards in 1983), we have lots of food, water, pet stuff, meds, paper goods, flashlights and mini battery-powered TV. I am doing laundry and cleaning the house, keeping the gas tank on my car full. It was kind of interesting going to Walmart this morning after practice. A ton of newbies have moved to the state, and you can tell who they are when they shop for a hurricane. They are in severe panic mode, like they knew nothing about this weather phenomenon before today.

I'm so worried about money that I wonder if I should stay another year to be able to save more funds. But I've made my decision and I do not want to wait another year.
I don't have any money besides what's necessary to cover my monthly expenses. Everything else was going to retirement accounts. A week ago I changed my contributions to 5% so I can get the match on my 401k. Then the rest will go to my checking account so I can save it for moving. I got paid yesterday, and it hasn't hit my paycheck yet. So in two weeks I will start saving. I only have until March to save.
And I feel like I have so many expenses coming up; my friend's visit. Moving with Michi. I looked online for information on how to move internationally with pets. It looks extremely complicated. So I reached out to two different companies that specialize in moving pets internationally. Both have an online form you have to fill out, and then someone will reach out to you. I filled out the forms last Wednesday, and nothing. My guess is that it will cost around $3,000 to move Michi. But I'm just making up the figure. Who knows how much it will cost?
All I see is big upcoming expenses when all I want to do is save money. I'm so stressed right now.
