This is Germany and Malta but if you poke around you'll get earlier trips. I take notes during the trips and then do the blog when I come home. www.blogger.com/blog/posts/6565642605991260772?bpli=1&pli=1

Oh, good lord!! I hung up one of those sticky fly ribbons near Sushi's food. I don't want flies laying eggs in his food. I heard a crash from the kitchen and all my little dragon and Buddha statues are on the floor.
Sushi thought it was a toy. Now he's running around with a fly strip running down the length of his body. It's REALLY sticky, and I can't get it off him. He's losing his mind. I'm have to get out the vegetable oil and try that. What a mess.

What a mess. Rubbing alcohol dissolves glue. IDK how safe that is for a cat but if the vegetable oil doesn't work that might.

I fed DD late last night, so she could do the fasting this morning, at about 10:30. Then we got to the hospital right after the lab opened. She is so much easier to draw blood from now. Still, she asks for a butterfly needle, and they use it. She said today it didn't even hurt. Mine did just for a minute or so.
We ate after that, and I picked up my drugs. All of a sudden, a month's worth of Ozempic was only $50?? Before 3 months was $477. Guessing I'm out of the donut hole, have to look, otherwise just doesn't make sense.
I had DD walk up and down the stairs to the basement once. I told her let's at least do that for a week, then next week will have her do it twice a day. Doing that has really strengthened my muscles. I told her she has to do something: her balance is getting off laying and she is going to be weak. It's not enough but a beginning. We have a good banister for her to hang on to if needed, hubs put it in for me and I always use it. I explained to her that if she gets so weak, she cannot get up and down she will have to go to a nursing home. There is no way at my age I can get her up and down and besides there is no need for it, just her not wanting to exercise. Of course, she gets mad and says I am just bullying her. Told her just keep thinking that's all it is, but you will find out once you get there. I absolutely refuse to lift on her because she just wants to lay in bed all the time.
We have our last monthly rent payment in so deposited it. The death certificates came in so picked those up. Now I can send one form in. The other the company said we would get paperwork in a few weeks. Not sure if I have to send one to Medicaid but will. Wondering when and how they will want the Miller Trust money paid to them.
I returned a reel that I bought for a fishing rod. It was $80 and an impulse purchase. I got to thinking, I have a perfectly good one and why do I need another one right now, so back it went.
My cats are ok but saw in the garage where one had upchucked a bit and cleaned that. I brushed one and he loved it, need to do the other.
Noted that hubs must have come upstairs to sleep sometime after 1. He needs to lose weight, I hurt so bad trying to sleep before I lost weight, I was miserable Think some of his discomfort is the same.

welts, I want to laugh, but getting that thing off is going to be a chore. I'm still trying not to laugh, I can see my cats doing that. LOL!
Happy Birthday ners!
I was out pulling weeds out of one of my flower beds, they and my garden have gotten bad with all the rain. All of a sudden I'm hearing gunshots, then more. I'm looking across the road at the old college and they have prisoners working over there mowing and trimming the 25 acre lawn. I don't know if it had anything to do with them but I came in the house. They bring them up here to work for the town as it has so little money the only way they can keep up with work here. The guys are all trusties and it never bothered me before. Likely had nothing to do with them but I decided I could do that stuff later.
They have nowhere to go, to the west is the river and it's flooding all over right now. To the south goes through farmland on a winding road back to the prison basically. To the north the road goes up by a big federal prison where even some of the islamic prisoners are kept and real killers. It's a top security prison and have never heard of an escape from it. So likely just someone target shooting.
Now I have a precious little kitty curling up by my legs. Love my kitties.

Oh my! Two fire trucks, three ambulances and seven police cars across the street. I wonder what happened. Somebody probably burned some popcorn. I got the fly strip off Sushi but there's still quite a bit of glue in his fur. He's hiding and traumatized and pissed off. We both need a break.

Can't you cut parts off, so he won't get stuck in it worse? I'm wondering if you will have to sedate him to get it off. I can see him getting his sensitive little whiskers in it, ouch.
I'm listening about trump, he should be in trouble for treason if anything else. I wouldn't doubt he has sold some of the information or would have. He is about the biggest danger this country has ever faced. Something needs to be done about him. And anybody backing him is also a big danger. Can you imagine the money he has sold the documents for or could sell them for.
Going on a tangent, I bought mostly veggies at the grocer plus luncheon meats. I picked up a Boarshead brochure and there are some wonderful sounding lunchs in there, so I bought a bit of this and that to make them. One is a quiche that sounds wonderful. A pound of cherries was $7.00, our prices are bad. But to get them otherwise I need to drive about 40 miles, so ends up costing the same. Groceries $67, ouch for the little bit of stuff I bought, sure would not feed a family.

so yesterday I took my kids to a waterpark. It is in the Adirondack mountains, so it's pretty hilly, plus I was climbing up steps for the slides all day. Then you get pretty banged up going down the slides.
I had to have ibuprofen for breakfast.

Hubs is sleeping downstairs he thinks his mattress is causing his back to hurt. He is wanting to buy a new one. Like I told him good ones are expensive. The tempurapedics we have must be 20 years old and were $5k for both. The one downstairs is not a cheap mattress. He is under the delusion he is going to buy a good XL twin for about $300 to $500. I hate to see him waste that much then have to buy a good one anyway. He said the one the kids had is good, well yes, we bought it for their guest room and I got it on a big sale at Sears. It had been a really expensive one. Son just bought he and wifey new ones for a small fortune too. But you can't tell him. He just can't get with current prices, he understands about the cost of tools and vehicles, but household things, nope. When I get one it will likely cost quite a bit and be another good one. I told him go to the furniture store in town and try theirs before buying. A twenty-year-old mattress does need replacing. I am not one of those who replace it every 5-7 years like the manufacturers suggest, but even if you rotated and flipped it every six months (did you?) twenty years is too long. You can afford it so take him to the store and help him buy a decent one.

So my job was full time in the office, then covid and fully remote, and for the last couple of months hybrid. Monday is supposed to be return to the office full time. We just had a department wide staff meeting (state government) and at the end the cabinet secretary said my bureau and one more would continue to be hybrid because we spend a lot of time around high-risk people, in my case nursing home residents. Reading between the lines, what I heard is they don't really care if we get sick, they just don't want us to make everyone else at work sick.

Have you had her joints xrayed to see if that is the reason she is refusing to bear weight? Congenital bone abnormalities are not uncommon in those who have other issues. Maybe some of her falling isn’t due to blood glucose, but the joint giving out.

Sushi wouldn't sit still for the vegetable oil treatment. I had to cut all the glue off and now he has bald spots everywhere. He didn't mind the scissors treatment at all. He's purebred but it's a good thing he's not a show cat. He looks like he has mange.

I picked up Chinese take out.
We had 3 batches of leftovers in the fridge last night, any one would have been acceptable for lunch. All are gone.

I had to call my son and warn him..."Do not freak out if you come here today. It looks bad, but it's just glue". I'm glad he's strictly an indoor cat. If he went out, all his friends would laugh at him. When I gave CousCous a lion cut, he refused to go outside, because his friends did laugh at him.

I really loved the Google answers that said things like "gently place the cat on a towel and massage in the oil before bathing him in warm water and Dawn soap". Yeah, right, and have the local blood center on standby for transfusion needs.
