I had to call my son and warn him..."Do not freak out if you come here today. It looks bad, but it's just glue". I'm glad he's strictly an indoor cat. If he went out, all his friends would laugh at him. When I gave CousCous a lion cut, he refused to go outside, because his friends did laugh at him. Heh. We used to have a one-eyed Persian and DH told the groomer to give her the lion cut. I have never seen so much hate shooting out of one eye. She was PISSED!

Now we know the likely reason why that cat hangs out around our driveway at night. Apparently mice do too. And amongst other things, mice like to sit on top of the camera with their stupid tail dangling in front of the lens. Mister is even more disturbed by the mice than I am. I don’t like mice, but I’m more afraid of bugs. I definitely don’t want the mice to find their way inside the house though. It’s funny (not really) that we wouldn’t know about the cat or the mice if we hadn’t gotten the cameras. And yes, I know those other things eat mice too. The cat can stay. The mice and the other things need to GO!

He wouldn't leave her side, ever. I took him in when my mother died.` He never quite forgave me for taking him away from the woman he loved so much. I had him for about 7 years after that. CousCous was a Very Good Boy.

They readily gave him the dog Who just gives their dog to some stranger that asked for it, if they care about the dog?! He never strays far from DS, from the moment his “family” gave him to DS, and his favorite place to be is in DS’s lap. I tease DS that he must be a vampire and the little dog is his protective “hound”. He literally guards DS when he’s asleep and growls if you come in the room. He’s so tiny that his growls don’t scare anybody, but he is very serious about DS lol. He readily hops into his little bag (what’s the proper name for them? lol) when DS tells him to, because he knows it means he’s going somewhere with DS, vs being left at home. DS is over 6’ tall and it’s so cute to me that he has this little bitty dog that adores him and DS takes him with him everywhere he can, including stores sometimes. He doesn’t make a sound when he’s in his little bag, so most people probably think DS is just carrying a man purse or a duffel bag or something if they don’t look closely lol.

Not just from ladies, but from the right type of guys - you know those who can see a good heart in how he cares for his doggie and who would like to get to know him better.

Please forgive me, I actually chuckled when I read your post. My son is tall, but he doesn’t look anything like a tough guy. And if/when he gets attention from ladies, it’s strictly platonic because he is obviously gay. Maybe not “obviously” all the time but it definitely doesn’t take long to figure it out. I hope I don’t upset you by saying I chuckled at your post, I wasn’t laughing at YOU. Nor was I offended, it was just kind of funny, knowing how far DS is from what you described.

One of Sushi's favourite playthings is a yellow ribbon. The sticky fly traps look like...you guessed it! Yellow ribbons. Poor guy! He just wanted to play with his toy.

Animals can be such precious little things. They know when they are loved and pay it back.
I've always had "found pets" and they have been the absolute best. Not that many as they lived pretty good lives.
I had a very old cat the neighbor behind us had. She was pretty old and had to go in senior housing and couldn't take her kitty. He was huge and would come over and visit DD. She worried he wouldn't stay with us. Soon as she moved we took him home and he never left. He was a sweet old boy and moved with us a couple of times or three. He got under our new house we were building and got caught on a nail, ripped his skin almost half way around, we panicked and took him to the vet, hubs was afraid he would skin himself. He had to stay a while to prevent infection but healed up, we blocked the hole. His name was Toby. In Texas I took him to the vet, he asked if I knew how old he was, I didn't. He said he had never seen a cat old as him, he was getting arthritis and having trouble keeping his massive furry body cleaned. He said he could tell he was really old by his teeth. It was sometime after that a tornado hit where we lived, I called and called trying to get him in the house. It was finally blowing so hard I had to get inside, yes, of a mobile home. It turned the one over beside us. I looked for him a couple of days and smelled something. He had almost made it to the house was maybe 30 feet away and had been hit by a limb and killed. I cried harder than my DD did for that old cat, I loved him dearly, we had him many years.

Welts, still laughing about your poor kitty. Just can't help it, I could see the boys doing that.

Well, my sort is getting better. I've got stripes, sock, layer cakes and cotton yarn (kitchen only) mostly grouped together in bins.
I need to go through some of my other bins and put my *good* yarn together. Then solids and baby and cotton non-kitchen yarn. That's for another day I think. At least I'm taming the plastic bag method of organization. Somewhat.

My dad helped me install a window air conditioner in the bedroom. It feels amazing. I can't wait to go to sleep tonight. Dh won't know what to do with himself when he gets home and finds the bedroom under 80 degrees.
I had to move dh's shite pile to put the ac in though. Deciding if I'm going to sort it and put stuff away or just re-pile for him. Probably a bit of both.
No bears today at his new site, but a ranger came through checking permits when dh was in his underwear. I'm sure it's not the first time she's seen it in the private back country sites.

I wish I could say I have big plans tonight, but I don't. Italian sausage, onions and peppers for dinner. Something on Netflix. Some adult beverages. It should be very relaxing.

Need to get moving for the day. Took 2 days off from work and a quick trip out of town to celebrate my birthday. Sorry, cannot tell whether you already took a trip or are going to.
Either way, hope your birthday is/was a VERY happy one!

Wild night here. I am propped up in bed with massage on. Have one kitty beside me asleep and the other just got off my lap. They have been very restless today. I'm wondering if the worm med is making them so. They are on my lap, off, on again, off. Even hubs says what do they want. I fed them and helped a bit. But they seem to either be agitated or uncomfortable. But they purr like crazy when laying on me.
Tonight, I fixed shish kabob on the grill, we like it. DD ate earlier so didn't want any. I will give her a snack before bed. Hubs is watching telly, I'm reading on the net, some about trump and here. Have a new set of 3 books I'm starting, slightly different. The first is titled Wake Me After The Apocalypse by Jordan Rivet. Haven't read anything by her before. Also reading a Dirk Cussler book, couldn't find the durn thing so started this series. Both are good.
Big evening for us, that's it. Oh I had some jello for dessert. Would love to have ice cream, but no, try to limit that to about once a month. But you know one of those box cheese cakes would sure taste good Might make one tomorrow or Sunday.

I bought some tiny potatoes, I added them to the skewers with steak, tomatoes, onion, red bell pepper, mushrooms, and zucchini. I also made a packet of veggies, sprayed it with canola oil and put on the grill. The teeny tiny potatoes actually got done and helped hold everything together on the skewer. Good dinner in my book.

Probably read too much actually but 🤷♀️. My MIL used to crochet and she had crochet a bunch of granny squares for a blanket for DD2. I just to need to put together the granny squares for the blanket. My MIL can’t do it anymore due to the advancement of her arthritis. I need to figure out how to do so I’ll be looking at YouTube when I’m ready.

There is no such thing as too much reading!
Beyond that I cross stitch and embroider. I do some upcycling when the mood hits. I made a new galaxy jacket a few weeks ago.
