I found an answer to the woes of Ikea shopping.
Shop and pay online, then go pick up at their special parking area for Click n Go.
No entry into the mad maze, no passing Go, no paying another $200 for Stuff you had no idea you needed.

I thought that being at Costco bright and early might get me an almost empty store. Nope, the parking lot was packed. Anyway, nearly $300 later I walked out. I did pick up some Panaday for my itchy eyes. Whatever is floating in the air these days is driving them nuts. Anyway, I want to give a thumbs up for this. Since the drops have gone in, no more itch at all.
Bought a pork butt for TD to smoke this weekend. Idiot me, we have no space for it in the fridge so had to put it in a cooler with a couple bags of ice. Not sure what I was thinking.

A first pass has been made at our books. One grocery bag to donate. Two tubs to sell, and DS has one tub to keep. He also emptied his smaller bookshelf, so I know how much room I have to work with now. I may have to take a second pass again at my stuff. We'll see what fits. I don't think we're going to be able to get DS's dresser out of his room. I could probably put my music in there. We'll just have to see. We haven't really decluttered his room in over a decade. I am slightly regretting that decision right now. I'm actually surprised at how the kids are not very attached to their things. We really should have paid some attention to his room at some point in the past decade. But, I always picked the girls room, since they have to share. Oh well, live and learn.

We went to Costco this morning and of course the 5-item list turned into a $200 cart but that's okay too. I got a great top for fall and a good Sauvignon Blanc. We did get the list stuff to so we now have enough facial tissues to make it through winter colds and spring allergies, and enough Q-tips to keep us earwax free for eternity. DH talked to the poor guy AGAIN about new hearing aids. Now I know, and you probably do too by now, that talk is all it is, but the guy at Costco is so nice.
I just paid the attorney 1/2 of the cost of our new estate plan - other 1/2 due upon completion. I've got some Quicken work to do. Supper is a chicken stir-fry with noodles.

DH and I have been married 14 years today Congrats to you too! The longest I lasted married was 8 yrs, before I asked for a divorce. It has been 30+ yrs since we divorced and I dislike him every bit as much today, as I did then. Maybe more. I hope you enjoy many more years together. Happy anniversary !

Hubs stops, he has to go to the bathroom more then he used to, also drinks quite a few diet sodas so that helps. He is also on blood thinners, so should help with clots.
Shouldn't be too long now. I really need to make rice crispies treats and likely one of the least fattening desserts we can eat.
DD and I need to get haircuts this week forgot to call. Have my dye job set up for next Saturday. For some reason my colorist is only working 3 days a week right now. Wondering if her son is sick again?
I need to pick some of the good orange tomatoes, everything will be rotting with all this rain.

Best wishes to everyone who have been having issues recently. I'm thinking of you even though I don't comment. I am eating M&Ms. Tonight I did not count them for a serving size. We are almost out and H. asked me not to buy anymore. Both of us are down many pounds from a few months ago. I write down nearly everything I eat. I can't handle myfitnesspal since I'm always thinking about and entering food. Then making a grocery list and cooking. Too much thinking about food.
My DD has lost about 60 lbs or more. Her DD's wedding was her motivation which motivated H. and me. What I learned this days old. How to remove the new type nail polish. The old stuff was nail polish remover, swipe; and voila, gone. I hope the last little specks wear off. My toe nail polish is going to be worn off.

I got MIL's small pension benefit stopped today and they will take the last one back shortly so that feels good. So her 3 deposits are now stopped, sure easier then starting it. Also found my postal contract. The file was pushed down below some others. It was in the very first file cabinet drawer I started going through again. Now I can get some file boxes and start putting all MIL's paperwork in them. Will leave them up here and accessible for some time. But since she basically had nothing left it shouldn't take much to close out. Sad to say, but this will take a ton of paperwork and stress off me. I feel guilty saying that, but it does. I can deal with DD's. Would love to be rid of the bookwork for the LLC too. I just want to retire from all of that. I saw where some of you said you were low in iron. I cook or fry something in my old iron skillets often. I've read just enough comes off and adds to your diet to help. I think it's healthy, mine has never been low. And I just ate a bit of the chili, it's really good. Think I will make me another cup of coffee, not to late to drink it. I haven't eaten any steel cut oats the last 2 mornings, though I'm full, I need to eat some for my digestion. Guess I will stuff them in. I get plenty of iron in - I just lose it just as fast.

I remember the first time I tried to eat a cleaner, healthier diet. I felt like food was all I ever thought about. If I wasn’t researching, planning, and preparing meals, I was still thinking about food because I was hungry all the time. So I feel you on “Too much thinking about food”.

It got dark and very windy all of a sudden so I came out in the garage with Newbie because a storm is brewing.
It is interesting and kind of scary at the same time to watch all these huge trees sway in the wind. I can’t begin to guess how tall they are, but they are much taller than my next door neighbor’s 2 story house.
Newbie is more afraid of the wind than the thunder. Thunder, she wants to go figure out where it’s coming from. Wind, her ears are back and flat and she wants to run and hide. Silly dog.

Remember we were talking about going outside and meeting people? I talk to everybody...at the store, on the bus, in the park, etc. Today I had a very interesting chat with a couple of Jehovah's Witness ladies.
At the supermarket, I met a man who's the drummer for a pretty famous Quebec rock band. World Tour famous. We talked about music. He was nice.

Busted ass at work today. Then I came home and went straight to Wal-mart to print photos and buy frames. I am currently starting dinner while waiting for the one hour to be up. Got gas, filled my tire. Tomorrow I have to bust ass again till 3:00. Then I go straight to the funeral home to pick up mom because now she's not going to be ready till 12:00 tomorrow. Then I need to get all the pictures and Bob's eco urn in the car. DH is picking up the meat platter and wrangling the girls, Bob is handling the flowers. I want all this to go right because it's important to my dad. I also want it to go right because now that MIL and my mother are deceased it is up to me to do these things, the baton has been passed. I want to make them both proud of me. DH got me a lovely card for our anniversary and he got me a Winky Lux blush I have been talking myself out of because it was $26. With everything we've had going on he didn't have time to plan. Turns out my kids actually listen to me once and awhile and Gwen remembered me commenting I would love to get that blush for Christmas. My kids are good kids.

Sitting through hours of training. Some live, others recorded. I need to log some ot since I'll be driving dh for his backpacking trip later this week and miss a couple hours. It's just so mind numbing. I panic occaisonally that the only reason I was good at last job is I had been there so long and that I'll sink here. But mostly I can turn that voice off. Hoping it turns out OK.
I need to find a notary who will witness and notarize my i9 or I have to drive across town tomorrow to meet my boss for it. Hopefully the ups store will be willing to do it.
I'm going to complain a bit about dh. When I went out of town for work, whether it was 2 days or 6 days, prep for them was a huge part of my to-do list. Meals, laundry, laying out clothes/backpacks, outside babysitters/rides, etc. Dh would say I didn't need to, and sure, I could have skipped it, but I handled all that stuff and knew that while they'd be fine while I was gone that it was still going to be difficult on all of them.
Dh ordered school supplies which I wish he hadn't because he waited to the last minute, ordered from an inconvenient location and hasn't picked them up. Which means I have another errand on my to-do list when I would have ordered them.to be shipped to us - and saved money compared to his office supply mania. But otherwise he hasn't done anything to prep for while he's gone. Activities he usually drives for, his nights for dinner, meals for the box turtle that include bugs - nothing. He's always done the med drop off for ds which I brought up last night, and it's so much easier than in elementary school, but it wasn't even on his radar.
I think that's the part that gets me. That on 1 hand, I already handle 95% of mundane life, so it doesn't impact us for him to be out of town, but at the same time, he isn't even trying to mitigate that 5% extra burden.

Oh yes, label me another that thinks about food constantly. I sure have today, in cooking for hubs, thinking about stuff to eat for DD and I. Just food, food, food all the time.
Can you imagine not having enough to eat? That would be shear agony. But also difficult when you have so much, sigh.
Well hubs is home, shower, eating dinner, and heading for his chair. Guess who beat him too it, Smokey. LOL! He jumped on the back and grabbed hubs hand, then he settled himself in the seat, like I just dare you to move me. LOL! Hubs said get him off my chair, I picked him up and he was meowing, not wanting to move. He is a case for sure, why I don't know. Thankfully, he likes DD too. I explained to kitty, (like he should understand) that he is fighting the hand that buys all the food he eats, the meds he takes, and the vet he goes to. Just no response from the little critter. Just pray he never bites him hard and draws blood. So far he just kind of fakes it, but I think it's coming.

It’s storming now and raining pretty hard. I am still in the garage. It’s kind of soothing, the weather, even though the strong wind and the huge trees swaying make me kind of nervous. Newbie is NOT impressed though.

I realize this is a rhetorical question, but why do bosses that have never done your job think they understand it better than you? Anyhoo, I'm just going to go along with what they say to do, and when it all falls apart, let them figure it out. I'm tired of arguing with them.

What I can’t figure out is how my Grandmother always had enough dinner to feed unexpected guests whether it was 1 person or a few, but also never wasted food. She did have unexpected guests fairly often, because she was known for her cooking skills, but especially for her cakes and other desserts. And if you stopped by her house, she would try to feed you, whether you were hungry or not lol. It has to be an art, and it’s one that I’ve not figured out yet. I know it involved eating leftovers, and I will and do eat leftovers, but we still end up throwing a lot of food away. Even though reheated fish and chicken isn’t my favorite, I’ll eat it without complaint if that means I don’t have to cook that day. Just one of the many, many things I wish my Grandmother was here to teach me.

Anyhoo, I'm just going to go along with what they say to do, and when it all falls apart, let them figure it out. I'm tired of arguing with them. My job was newly created at where I work. I had been there for 4 years when I went out on maternity leave last year. I’ve had 2 bosses in the 5 years I’ve been there, but my old boss is still with the company as a consultant. While I was out on maternity leave, both my old boss and my current boss covered my job while I was gone. I did quite a bit before I left for 3 months, but they still had plenty to do. Let’s just say, my old boss said “if I never have to do your job again, that is ok!”. 🤣🤣 My current boss doesn’t complain about her workload, but she was ecstatic I came back when I did.

@pinkcshmere I am going to 3rd, 4th, 5th, whatever what everyone else said: Mister needs to contact a lawyer. What he was told makes absolutely no sense. What incentive would the recipient of the money have to cooperate with the payee? All s/he has to do is drag their feet to keep the money coming. Also, they could sell their cellphone/computer whatever and demand the payee replace those items since their lack would "prevent them from cooperating". And it took me all of ten seconds to come up with just these two scenarios. I am sure that anyone setting their mind to it would be able to drag this out for a very long time. Since the divorce decree spells out how long he has to pay there should be nothing more to it than pay the last payment. Personally I would send a certified note after that payment had gone through, with a copy of that part of the divorce decree attached, and state something like "per the attached agreement I made the last child support on <date>." And depending on the relationship I might or might not add a thank you for being a good mom to DD. But that is all...

Just pulled burgers out to toss onto the grill last night. I made the slaw yesterday, when I had to punt on previous dinner plans.

On the "thinking about food" topic I think we are luckier than those who came before us because we have a lot of food and a lot of choices about food. And I think we less fortunate than those who came before us because we have so many choices. I hear y'all on this because the Weight Watchers thing does require planning ahead and measuring and weighing. And I'm okay with that but it doesn't keep me and DH from getting the tortilla chips at the restaurant or the cookie out of the pantry.
I KNOW my life did not revolve around food 10-15-20 years ago. But I don't know how to redirect my life, and I sure as crap don't know how to redirect DH. We fight about so much, including food. This is not cool at all for either of us.

I've never been involved with child support. But I helped a tenant write letters and all kinds of stuff to get his child support stopped. He had to get off work, go in and his ex, one cooperated, so it wasn't bad. The second one was wanting the money but he got it worked out as no way was that kid going to college. But it was quite a hassle. I just typed out the letters for him, for the judge.
He finally got them stopped, he too had to wait. They said a month or two was missed with covid, so strung it out a month or two longer. He wasn't working those months. He wasn't making much so he really needed it. ANd he too had paid it faithfully for years.

And depending on the relationship I might or might not add a thank you for being a good mom to DD. But that is all... I did suggest he talk to an attorney. But according the state website, the only thing I didn’t see that he said, was about the zoom meeting. That could just be a new requirement since COVID, Zoom wasn’t really a thing for personal business until the pandemic. But everything else he said about what he has to do, aligns with what I read online. The $119 cost for the paperwork to file a motion, filing the motion and waiting for a court date that will take at least 28 days and may continue for up to 6 months, and the motion can’t be filed before she actually turns 18yo, and he has to keep paying after that date, until the courts give him a termination letter to give to his employer, so they stop the deductions from his paycheck. All of that is true and confirmed by my online research, including what I read on the state’s website. The divorce decree does spell it out, and he has a copy of it. He can’t just stop paying because while their divorce was being settled, he paid it on his own, but when the divorce was granted, the courts required it be paid through a paycheck garnishment. So just like it was a court order that his employer followed to take it out of his paychecks, it takes another court order for them to stop taking it out of his paychecks. Idk what his recourse is if she does not cooperate with the zoom meeting. I’m not saying she won’t, I’m just saying I won’t be surprised if she doesn’t.

I think it's because our lives have become so narrow. DD and I used to travel, go, do things, not so much anymore. Our lives have become, eating, in or out, sad. There is little else in our world now.
I looked at pictures of us even 6 years ago and we were not as fat as we got. If fuel prices come down, and hopefully hotels, we need to do something besides eat. But then it will be winter here in Indiana and that limits us too. That's why DD and I used to take off in the winters, for adventures.

That sounds about what the guy went through I helped. He couldn't just stop paying. I don't remember him having to pay fees though, but not sure.
Everything has gotten more and more complicated.
