2 more successful new dinners. Pizzadillas - stove stop quesidilla with pizza toppings and crockpot lasagna. I need to make a thinner sauce on that next time, but the kids were so excited for that this time of year despite some crunchy noodles.

Good morning, busy invisipeeps, weaving the warp into the world. I hope your Tuesday is an easy day, offering you opportunities to do what you enjoy most.
I'll be trekking up to Ikea to pick up some Billy bookcases, then stopping at Costco for water and a few other items. The house is beginning, barely, to take some shape for living. I need to tackle the office and guest room and put away clothes, but things are some semblance of order now, in the right rooms at least.
Yesterday I found our car title and birth certificates. Then I went to the DMV site to make appointments to register the car and transfer drivers' licenses. The earliest available were the 24th and the 1st, so I grabbed those. I didn't expect that. I thought I would be able to get them within a few days, a week at the outside. Oh, well.

Doggies woke me up early again!?! Finneme how do you do this? And you’re so organized, changing to new state’s license plates already. Seems most folks take months and months. But maybe that’s an insurance cost differential? Anyway doggies fed, coffee is done, after I’ve drunk the coffee back to bed for me Happies to birthday and anniversary folks!

good luck and godspeed at IKEA today. that place is not for the faint of heart. 😳 I decided if I ever went there again I'd order on-line and go straight to the area where you hunt it down. That place is a MAZE and I do not need to be led through baby furniture and other irrelevant areas and then through Impulse Purchase Land at the end. I do give them credit for shrewd marketing, though! I'm at Heathrow- everything has gone very well. A little late here and there but that's to be expected. I'm stoking myself with coffee since I didn't sleep well on the flight (probably overdid the wine a bit). Immigration officer gave me the third degree about my travel plans- well, she probably doesn't hear "I'm headed to Albania tomorrow" very often. And then of course she had to ask about my skinny passport, the replacement issued in Malta. And she didn't even stamp it! I have 3 hours till I can check into my hotel but it's Hilton and they love me so I may be able to get in earlier. No rush. At the very least I can leave my bags and go for a walk. It's a beautiful day.

I have coffee and I'm trying to sort through 150+ emails that came in over the 3 days I was off. I've done a first cut and deleted the junk.

apparently, the electricians are here today. they pulled in around 8am. the company owner never actually got back to me as to which days he and/or his team would be here. I asked them to start with the outside stuff, since the pups are home today. tomorrow, they can come in for the inside stuff.

IKEA is on my list too, this week.
DD1 has picked out colors for her room, and we've looked at furniture in town on a couple of different occasions. She knows what kind of bed she wants, and also she would like a desk. I think it is a good choice for her. We can trust her doing her homework in her room. She wants some orange walls, and grey furniture. I think it will look cool when it's done.
So, today, we need to take measurements and figure out the layout. I also need to work on cleaning out all the closets.
My goal is to get her moved in at the start of the school year. She's being an obnoxious big sister to the peanut. Her own space would help.

How is Astro doing andi9899? Is his wound from the vet trip healing ok? It's scabbed over and less swollen. Thanks for asking. He's back to being a butthead again.

So I was able to get a Dr. appointment today. I’m kinda not feeling this new Dr I’ve been seeing since my PCP retired at the end of last year. She gets stuck on one thing, and she doesn’t listen very well. Today she got stuck on my tummy issues. When I made the appointment, I said it was to discuss what else I can do about my sleep problems. The person on the phone asked if I was experiencing anything else, I said yes, I’m wondering if I’m experiencing depression, and I’m having trouble with my stomach, which I think may be due to stress. So when I got there, I had to take a COVID test because of my tummy issues. It was negative. So when the Dr came in she talked about that, and then it was like she was done. Ummmm…… ma’am, what about the other stuff?! I told her I know I’m not a Dr., that’s why I was in her office, but I think it might help my mental and physical issues if I could just get some damn sleep at least once or twice a week, or SOMETIMES. i have some things in my life that I stress about, but I don’t see it being helpful to trying to manage my stress, to be exhausted all the time because I can’t get some damn sleep like a normal person. That creates even more stress because wtf can I not sleep. I don’t feel like I may be depressed all the time. It’s like I’ll go a while running on fumes because of lack of sleep, and then I sort of crash and feel crazy and don’t have the energy to do much of anything. I’ve been diagnosed with depression before and I remember what that felt like. I also remember that it was an everyday thing that I felt, regardless of how I was sleeping (or not) and regardless of what was going on in my life, it wasn’t just every few weeks or whatever. Make an appointment with a therapist. It sounds like this doctor is oblivious to what you really need.

Plus find a new doctor, @pinkcshmere. Life is far too short for a PCP who won't listen.

Dh and I have found that it's really difficult to find a doctor who deals well with long term unknowns. Dh isn't great at staying on top of them/it either and I understand that it's exhausting and not something else he has energy for.
Doesn't mean not to try, but think long term, and get copies of medical records yourself after each visit.

I baked a lasagna and now baking a spanakopita. It was COLD here today! Not even 60 degrees, after 104 yesterday. It's madness, I tell you! I'm baking now because they're saying we're in for another blistering heat wave. I certainly won't want to turn the oven on then. This way, I can just pop a piece of lasagna or spanakopita in the microwave. I can't afford to get take-out every single day, which is what I've been doing. Yesterday, i picked up a souvlaki. The day before, a shish taouk on pita. Day before that, a pizza. This cannot go on. (Sushi LOVES lasagna. Garfield is not an outlier.) This reminded me that I need to check out dates for Greek Festival. No festival during the covid but hopefully will be in full swing this year. Spanakopita is one of the reasons I go. They have the best. Can get fresh made and also buy box of frozen/fresh made. We have one other place that makes really good ones so I feed my addition at least once a month till Greek Festival. I miss all the activities that they had during the festival. Oh, and some of the cheeses that aren't readily available in stores Heck, I'll admit that I just love everything about the festival.

The best PCP I ever had was actually a CNP. She was awesome and a great listener. Many people I worked with went to her, which was how I found her. I also noticed she actually looked at you, not just at your chart. I moved 75 miles away and in retrospect, I should have kept her as my primary. But now, she's not accepting new patients.

My new doctor is an FNP and she's the one who cared enough about my iron to get it fixed. It's taking forever but as it's started to come up I've realized for the first time in years I can exist without feeling hungry. I've seen at least 3 other doctors in that time that never did more than say to take supplements.

My wonderful doctor who listened and was an holistic doctor in Boulder, retired before I was ready.
He retired to work in Uganda with Aids/Hiv. Since he has been retired, he went to Africa for a couple of stints during ebola. He helped with Covid vaccines. He spent considerable time crossing the border in to Mexico at Tijuana daily to treat people that needed medical help during the wait in Mexico policy.
He's still doing good in the world, but he left his practice. Now I moved, so I wouldn't be able to see him anyway.

I got up earlier and fed my kitties. Once in awhile DD and I will just have a banana and glass of milk for breakfast, that was today.
I'm sitting in bed looking out the window. Thinking I need to be up and looking for my post office file again. Going to try the file cabinet again. Need to pull all MIL's files out of it anyway. But sure not throwing them away for at least a couple of years, you never know anymore.
I figure sometime in the next 24 hours hubs will be home. Took him 34 hours to drive out. He will nap in his truck coming home. He said pointless to spend the money for a hotel when he only can sleep maybe 4 hours. I check his progress by where he stops and buys fuel on the credit card and also pay the bill in full, when I check. He left midnight Sunday night.
I had bought MIL a bunch of clothes to spend down for her. I know DD can wear the shirts. There are about 5 I didn't take over. There are a lot of jeans with stretchy waists, neither of us likes those and they are brand new. I may just take them to the free place or somewhere like that. Also there were new house slippers from Lands End I sent DIL. I tried on one of the shirts and I can wear them too. Hubs left all the clothes over there for the nursing home patients. Lots of good Lands End items, oh well, some can use it. But I cannot believe I can wear a S/P.
Finished my book last night, thinking of starting on a Clive Cussler.
We have had .06 rain since midnight added to that 1.73. It is WET out there.

I posted on FB when I was donating blood and a male friend asked if I'd ever been deferred for low hemoglobin. I had on occasion before menopause- not recently. Maybe it will help him.

We have figured out the furniture situation. That took far longer than I expected. We'll sit on it for a day or two and then double check measurements and then make our order.

What size bed is she going to have? I have a queen size headboard from Wayfair in my garage that was DD's.
