Party is finally over. We're going to have leftovers later. Right now I'm watching Rocky on TV and drinking coffee.

Farmers usually make good neighbors. Their etiquette says help when you can and help will appear in return. Exactly. I can't say I'm a great help, but I've spent many an hour unloading hay wagons and there is always beer in my garage. I slept in until 9 which was glorious. Going to lounge around here for a half hour or so, then headed to Minneapolis to pick up Carrot...I'm taking the slow route too. Going to drop off the tire and drive up the River Road. It's going to be a lazy Sunday.

My kid woke me up in the middle of the night. She had gone out with friends and came home drunk setting all the dogs off because she couldn't figure out how to open the door. I got her upstairs where she promptly passed out. She's still up there sleeping it off. I'll just leave her.

After a trail run and blueberry pancakes for breakfast, I am enjoying homemade limeade and perusing upcoming races to add to the calendar. Planning to wash and wax the floors later. Dinner is a new pasta dish from a recipe I saw in the paper. Orecchietti pasta, milk, ricotta cheese, Pecorino Romano, saffron and mint (I am using fresh basil from my garden instead of mint), and fresh ground pepper. The cheese and milk are not low-fat, so nothing skinny about the recipe. I will have a salad with it.

I'm going to the doc tomorrow. I spent another night coughing half the night, the throat spray helps for awhile. It's just on the right side. But I'm also very tired. I had all this stuff I was going to do while hubs was gone. Also was going to make relish, I'm just pitching the ingredients and forgetting it, so you guys know I'm not feeling super good. I have never done that. I can't say I'm real sick, just tired and fatigued, I guess. Thought about taking a covid test but don't have anyother symptoms. Covid here is now considered high in the county again. I am going to take out my trash today, need to get the mower and wagon out to haul it out to the dumpster. And emptying a bucket with rotten tomatoes and turnips, surely I can make myself do that.
And going to try and dust or mop some. I think part of the problem is total lack of motivation. Thought about going to the show today, no, just staying home. And the pool is open till labor day, DD and I could go, but the sun even with a hat on is not helping my hair.
I told DD we are using odds and ends for lunch and dinner. We have 1 left over tenderloin, shrimp from last night, some slaw, and other items in there we need to eat or pitch. And I don't need to buy any food right now, we are fine.
Oh and the throat doesn't really feel sore which is odd.

Not much.
I missed my approved time frame to talk to my mom. I'll call her later. It will give her something new/different to get upset at me for. and complain to me about. Variety is the spice of life, I guess.
I should be doing the things.

With the reduced ozempic, I'm still holding my own, in fact have lost a bit more weight so I'm good. But I have to make a conscious effort to not want to eat all the time. I do eat a lot of small snacks a day. Things like cottage cheese and pineapple. Or jello with 10 calories, or raw veggies, canned soup, just very low calorie stuff. Protein is more filling and I get enough of that. I just have to be aware and keep it balanced. Like yesterday, a low calorie day so I could have a small milkshake. That helps me do all this. Have to do it the rest of my life. But I know the docs office will help me if I slip, that is so encouraging.
I expect for hubs to leave in the morning to come home, will see. Sounds like he and son are having a good time. DIL said he acts so different this time. I know everything with his mom was stressing him, he didn't say so, but it bothered him seeing her like that. I think he feels immense relief for her. And he was worried last time she might pass before he got back, so I know this is all taking a load off him. I told her give him time, he may move yet. DIL is big on having family around, she really likes that. And she wants us around for little guy, I know that would give them relief when they need it and good memories for him. She is all planning an inlaw suite in the garage they will eventually build. I told her not for me, LOL! I didn't say but I don't want to live that close to them, don't think that would work well. She would get tired of us quick, I think.
Son can find all kinds of stuff up there people give away. He and hubs went and picked up a bunch of windows to make a real green house with, not huge but with real glass. Hubs said it will make a nice one, but they were real heavy. Son's problem is he has back issues and like DIL said won't use a back brace I gave him to help, then he gets down. He will do that stuff if I'm there to sort of insist, LOL! And hubs is still strong as a horse. Sad son has that problem, my folks did and so do I, inherited tendency, maybe.
It will all work out someway.

Just hauled 2 more boxes of Stuff down to the basement. Plus, I ordered 3 more sets of storage shelves for the basement. That's where we'll keep Christmas items, very fine china, extra baking equipment of which I have a huge amount from my days baking as a side gig, and much of the tools and home improvement supplies. It didn't seem like much at first.
Now we're going to the farmers' market.

Today DH: So we’re having all four of them over for dinner. Me You: So, what are you making them for dinner? I hope your day goes OK in spite of this. It’s not as bad as it sounds. DS is hell bent on roasting quail. Quails come as a four pack frozen all together, it makes sense to fob some off on the in laws esp since I don’t think DH will eat any. So I’d bought a cornish game hen to roast about the same time for DH. Still may not be enough but DH pointed out we have some chicken breasts so he’ll grill a couple of those as backup. Cake: DH got a polar pizza thing from baskin robbins bc DS felt grandpa should also get a tiered homemade cake. I baked the layers last night (my first time trying sponge! Do not have 8“ cake pans! Cannot find them easily so bottom cake is 8“ square not round!) and it’s assembled but not finished frosting. We‘ll do some grilled veggies grilled corn on the cob and a caprese salad, which necessitated a trip to the farmers market. No blueberries or basil to be had there, so the caprese may wind up with the dried stuff I commented to DH that I think his family is one of my migraine triggers. He was like, „well yeah. Also the sky is blue.“

oh man, college drinking stories. there was one night of a family grad party, where my 5'3 110lb sister decided to throw down and match the football teammates on drinks. and I don't mean the RBs. she ended up puking across the hood the grad's mom's car in the driveway. 🤦♀️ I'd already gone home by that point, literally around the corner. someone brought her home, and I tried to set her up with a puke bucket, water, Gatorade, Advil, all of that. and I spent most of the night arguing with my mother that water wasn't going to "prolong the drunk" ummm, wut? my sister got water and Gatorade, bc I slept in Dads recliner next to the couch, to make sure Mom didn't pour out the water. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

there was another night not long after college. every time I put my drink down, it got refilled(with friends! this is important). I paid for like 2 drinks all night. I don't know how I managed to drive home from Worcester that night, other than to say a manual transmission that I kept out of top gear limited my speed, and I remember calling a friend on speakerphone and him talking to me the whole way home.
I slept in Dads recliner again, and the next day was football Sunday. it took me til halftime of the late games to keep water down that day.
I should definitely not have driven that night, and I've never done that since. but we're all invincible in our 20s. 🤦♀️

I finally got the huge living room mopped and the hallway, I moved some of the furniture around, I just can't make this room like I want it. Can't figure out how I want it.
I'm getting ready to mop the laundry room, kitchen, and dining room, that's almost half the house. This hardwood really mops nicely with Murphy's Oil Soap as does tile also.
I sat down for a bit and now have a kitty laying on my legs asleep. I hate to have to move and wake him up, it's my Tigger cat and that is where he likes to sleep even at night. Love my cats.
DD and I had lunch, for me I fried the leftover piece of tenderloin, all I've eaten today besides coffee. DD had the last of the leftover pizza, her choice. So, we cleaned up some leftovers. We may have the rest of the boiled shrimp for dinner tonight. Maybe some sliced tomatoes and cukes from the garden.
I found some of my post office, docs, I knew they were in long envelopes. Why I filed that stuff away I have no idea. I have found everyother doc for pieces of property we have bought and sold. I still have more storage boxes, downstairs. Hubs said what is in the file cabinet up here. It's over half full of stuff from his mom and is folder after folder. With VA, medicaid, assisted living and nursing homes, I have absolute reams of paper over the last 10 years and you are afraid to throw anything away. I have dug out old papers more then once. And under my desk I have from medicare the medicial bills and ins bill copies, also for DD. It fills up a box that held several reams of paper for the printer and this is just last year and this year. Eventually I will lump all this stuff together and dispose of it, but not this year for sure and may keep it next year just in case something comes up but I don't expect it too. I can only imagine paying an attorney to have done all this. Would have cost us a fortune. Hope my mental capacities stay good so I can deal with all of it for us long as possible.

Just finished all of DD1's paperwork for her therapist. It took longer than I had expected. I'm getting close to being done with the chores I wanted to get done today. Then I get to do other things I'm not looking forward to, as well as getting some work in.
The fun just never stops.

CG, I also worry about throwing out paperwork from my DS. Original lawyer for her Special Needs Trust made such a mess it took another lawyer 2 years and Cost me $22000 to repair. Then another 2 years to get Medicaid for her because there was such a complicated trail of banks, judicial decisions etc Then Covid shutdown soon after she passed which meant that sale of her condo, moving her small SS bank account and probate of her will all done during that confusion. So I’m putting all these records into boxes then stacking in a guest bedroom. My nightmare is Medicaid comes back again and wants $$ . Her medical care was long and complicated and hugely expensive. I am very grateful costs were covered but really don’t know what I’d do if I had to respond - just get everything copied by some company and send to them - and not respond

I just realized how disgusting our upstairs carpet is. I think this school year is sunk, in terms of getting anything major beyond the great bedroom switch of 2022 complete.
I'll be cleaning the carpet next weekend. It's going to have to last another few years. DS also lost one of the attachments for our small vacuum. I am a little sad. I think I'd rather be in grad school than cleaning carpets. LOL.

I am sitting on the deck. Music is playing and Mister is grilling chicken thighs. Yuck! I don’t like chicken thighs. I have resigned myself to reaching out for help, because I am really struggling to try to be ok. And still, I am not even close to okay. There is a scripture somewhere in the Bible, I don’t who is speaking or the context, but it says something like I do not do the things I want to do, and the things I do, I do not want to do. Something like that. And I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. Because I have a clear vision of what I’d like my every day life to be like, and those things are doable without making major changes in my life, like quitting my job or whatever. I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with me, but lately I’ve been feeling like a failure, I’m not doing anything well. At the rate I’m going, if I don’t figure things out, I’m going to lose everything I have, including my job. Maybe even Mister, because I’m not being a good partner to him either. I haven’t had much sleep for almost a week now. And my stomach is acting up every day now. I’m almost positive that my tummy issues are due to stress. It’s become clear that I can’t fix my shit by myself, so I am going to seek help. My Mom text me this morning asking me to please help her. I called her and asked what was wrong and she went on and on about the pain she’s in. She wants me to take her to the doctor. I told her it would have to be on one of my days off work because I can’t take any more time off work. After we got off the phone I texted her a link to affordable medical transportation service in our area and told her to call those places, because I’m not in a place where I have much to give anyone else, I’m struggling too much with my own shit. And most of “my shit” is due to taking on other people’s shit and trying to be everything to everybody except me. I’ve lost myself somewhere along the way and I just can’t be that person anymore. Miss FixIt (me) can’t fix her own shit these days, let alone somebody else’s shit.

Get the model number and bet you can find a replacement attachment on line. I order stuff like that all the time.
I am taking to many breaks. I have all the main area mopped, laundry, kitchen, dining, living, hallways. Today doing it on hands and knees, I do that every month or so, otherwise use a mop. On to the kitty room, then DD's bedroom and ours. I will get it. Not as dirty as I thought, well except for the kitchen. The little vacuum does a good job of getting up the dust and hair. But there is still dust, not bad though, I think a lot of the dust we had before was coming out of the carpet. Well it was 19 years old. Had been cleaned a lot and I'm sure it was dusty. We are not generating an 1/8 as much so that's good.
Back at it.

I can understand where you are coming from. I'm not doing what I want to either, but don't think I can find a way out. Only way would be place DD and I struggle with that. Just no really good place for her to go.

Big Hugs, Pink. I am sorry you are struggling. But I am glad you are going to seek help. Keep persevering with the help, if at first the match is not good.
