Yes. Now they need to go after his family. Everyone here is convinced they helped with at least getting rid of evidence, if not actually helping hide the body.

I don't think they actually will, but they were awful to the searchers throughout the time she was missing and so much took place on his dad's property like the burning of all the electronics and clothing and it's believed her body was relocated at least once.

sounds like the crazy case out here - the family closed ranks to protect whoever actually beat up the cop and threw him out in the snow to die.

Good morning, busy invisipeeps, running your lives. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope this day brings you hard cider and warm cornbread and that you hear a very funny joke. We all need some cheer. We're in Albuquerque. Once it's light out we'll go see some of the sights including a federal preserve with tiny dinosaurs of all sorts, including spoon billed cranes and eagles. It's cold here. They had a snowstorm last week and got about 6", maybe more. It is really nice to be here. I couldn't take any pics yesterday due to first the rain then the travel. So here's one I took about a year ago at the beach: If you get a chance, take the Sandia Peak tramway up to the top to get a great view of the ABQ area, day or evening. Hopefully the restaurant at the top is still open.

finnime Welcome to our beautiful state and I hope you have a great trip! My sister and her family have lived in New Mexico for many years and I have been there often. I worked for a cargo airline for many years. We could ride for free in our jets. When we had smaller jets, we sat in the jumpseats in the cockpit. The destination flights always arrived usually when it was still dark out before dawn. I always enjoyed flying into ABQ because flying over NM and approaching ABQ it was mostly dark on the ground. But once we flew over Sandia Peak there was the city of lights below. Always a pretty site.

My cancer surgery is coming up soon, where they will remove a goodly portion of my lungs. But guess what? I'm getting a KITTEN. It may invigorate Sushi, who does his best to impersonate a doorstop. He doesn't play at all. Didn’t you say you can't afford the cat you have now and are relying on others to help you pay for him? Should you really get another cat if you can't afford the one you already have?

My aunt passed this morning. She's the last of my grandma's siblings. The others have been long gone. Ironically, my grandma is at least 10 years older than all her siblings. My grandma is a pretty tough broad.

Teen is now officially 17! 364 more days to go til freedom! Overall I think her bday was pretty great. DH got her flowers and a Bluey balloon which I know she bragged about on Insta. She bought herself a sash and tiara and paraded around school in them in her new bday fit which was a smart sweater and new dark wash jeans. Her gf was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's a couple months ago and was having an off day, missed school but her mom allowed teen to come over after for 3 hours. Dinner plans with her aunt and gma got cancelled, still need to circle back on why and set up another time for gma at least. We pivoted and booked an escape room, I drove 50 mins each way to pick up and drop off her fav cousin. Her older brother got a ride to the room and DH drove 45 mins each way to take bro to where he is currently staying. Was most of us first time in escape room. DD12 got really into it and teen said we should take her and some friends sometime soon. While we were returning cousin, teen was blasting some tupac in my van and apparently I was bouncing my head with one hand on the steering wheel so I'm never gonna live that down. I thought teen was either going to pee her pants or fall out the car, she was laughing so hard. I did manage to ask her if my poor white self was at least on beat. That brought her to laughing tears. Poor cousin wasn't sure if she should laugh but teen said don't worry white mama dishes it as good as she takes it. She's having a dozen friends and cousins for sleepover Fri night complete with matching silk women's pajamas and DH is going to don a set for all of our amusement. I'm glad she has you. It sounds like she's really been through it in the past.

I hope he doesn't do that to the little one, sometimes adult males will kill a kitten. I hope they get along. That's when they want to mate with the mother, so she'll go into estrus again.. There' no mating going on around here.

My feather pillow exploded yesterday. I had to drag it to the living room to try to sew it up, where the light is better. I can barely see, as I'm pretty blind. Feathers everywhere! My house looks like Big Bird's nest.

So in the past week:
Trump won My siblings, who I promise are decent people, voted for Trump. It's the 2 year anniversary of my mom's death My dad has pneumonia and was in the hospital. DS isn't sure he wants to continue with college DH wrecked DS's car when he hit a deer. The car it totalled. We've found another but dealing with the insurance app is a nightmare. Just email me the fucking papers. DD has the stomach flu.
I haven't had a solid bowel movement since the election.
ETA: I'm doing my job and someone else's because of, stuff. It's temporary, and I agreed to to it, but holy crap.
I'm just done. I want out.

It was my birthday on the 5th. I got nothing. One friend has covid and the other doesn't drive. I haven't seen my sister, either. I spent $2,800 for Simon's birthday. He came over on my birthday with a meal from Burger King. That's OK. I like Burger King. I never found my gold bracelet. Now I'm wearing a wide silver bangle on my wrist. I won't lose it.

Sorry, swamp. Sounds like my shitty week as well.
To add to my troubles, yesterday I had an allergic reaction to my antibiotic.
Thankfully just hives that went away with Benadryl, but that was fun home alone at 10pm with two kids and no DH or parents nearby in case I had trouble breathing!
Also, PNEUMONIA IS EVERYWHERE THIS YEAR! If you can get the vaccine, do it. Of course, my kids still got it, but hey, every little bit of protection helps!

I'm ready to throw my laptop, and I've already poured a glass of wine. today's absurd handover request was that I walk her through a product quality review. the kickoff for this one isn't happening til after I'm gone, and it's all internal SOPs and templates. I told her she could review the internal documents and check in with teammates when the thing needs to be taken care of. oh no, she wants me to walk her through it, when the documents I would need to do my stuff haven't even been provided yet.
again, why am I teaching you shit to do my job? just, no. ask your boss. I've got shit I need to close out. perhaps you could have been more open to starting this handover when I first reached out? I reached out as soon as I got your name, because I know exactly how complicated this site is.
I'm torn between hoping she crashes and burns and not, because someone that will end up as a reflection on me and my "lack of training" except that I made sure to inform everyone on the team that I've been trying to start this handover since the day I got her name as my replacement on this site. I'm pretty sure that my reputation of trying to help where I can will win out over anyone trying to throw me under the damn bus after I leave. the biggest culprit for that is walking out the door with me.

This post and whatever post I might make from now in tonight is just me rambling about random stuff, so I won’t be upset if everyone just keeps scrolling without commenting. I am indulging in adult beverages this evening, so that is my disclaimer for the rest of the night. I just saw another reel on FB from a hair stylist, regarding Black women who choose to wear their hair in its natural state. For a long time now, I’ve been trying to talk myself into going to a professional to help me tend to my natural hair, or at least cut it into some kind of style. When my hair was relaxed, even though I’d learned how to relax, apply bleach and color, and cut it, as a teenager, as an adult, when I could afford it, I preferred to have professionals do all of that. And I could afford it consistently, for many years. Things just went awry when I stopped relaxing my hair, and that wasn’t an issue of what I could afford to pay, it became an issue of hair stylists that worked with and knew how to take care of my kind of natural hair. And that is when I first learned that paying a professional to tend to my natural hair cost a whole lot more money than I’d pay for for a professional to deal with my hair when it was relaxed. And even if I paid someone all the money they charged to deal with my natural hair, that didn’t necessarily mean that they really knew what they were doing. I just looked into a person I ran across on FB a couple of days ago, that specializes in natural hair like mine. And again, I was disappointed to see that just a hair cut costs over $200, even if I arrive at my appoint with freshly washed, detangled hair with no products in it. And I get hung up on the “no products” rule, because my hair is a totally different thing with no styling products in it, vs with styling products. So I’m not sure how a “curly cut” would even make sense if it’s done on my dry hair with no products to define my curls. And I am not willing to pay at least $200 to find out. I was so use to having color in my hair that I paid almost $300 just to have a professional colorist bleach and color my hair while it was a mix of natural and relaxed hair. The sides and back of my head had been cut so short by then, basically shaved (by a “natural” stylist that did such a bad job that even I could see it), that I really only had hair on the top of my head, which was a mix of a few inches of new growth… natural hair…. and several inches of relaxed hair. So I paid almost $300 to just color the hair on the top of my head because I didn’t want to risk damaging the little natural hair I’d grown, and I felt like I did t even have $10 worth of hair at the time. I understood then and even now, how bleach can damage naturally curly/coily hair like mine. And even though I bleached and colored my hair willy nilly while it was relaxed, myself or with a professional doing it, I am weird now about doing anything to my hair that might damage it and ruin my natural curls and coils, even though the tight curls and curls drive me nuts. And even though my hair is surely even healthier and stronger now, than when I was using all those chemicals to make it straight, and regularly using curling irons and whatever other kinds of high heat to maintain the look, and bleach and dye too. My hair was healthy even when I was doing all of that, so I’m not sure why I feel like it is so much more fragile now, in its natural state. Anyway, I can’t wrap my mind around paying over $200 just for a hair cut just because my hair is its natural self now. That $200+ does not even include a shampoo or any additional services. It is just the going rate to cut hair like mine, and includes some rules about how my hair must be when I come to get it cut. The fuck?! I feel you 1000%. My saving grace has been learning how to put my hair into flat twist protective styles after washing. That's literally all I do because I am lazy, my hair is a lot of work, and it doesn't hold a hair-out style longer than 24 hours, even if I put gel, hairspray, and 5000 bobby pins in it. I also feel you on trying to minimize hair damage. The aforementioned protective style keeps my hair out of my way and keeps it healthy. The "downside" is that I look like a 1960s Civil Rights Movement baddie most of the time, lol. I've gone to a professional once a year since going natural. I get a blowout and trim/cut, and it cost around $180-200ish, but I'm also in a higher COLA than you are (I think). I have my loc "installation" next month and I'm looking forward to not picking up a comb or detangling brush ever again. Unfortunately, that process will be over $200. I'll go 1 or 2 more times for a re-twist (6 and then 12 weeks later), but I plan to learn how to do the re-twists myself.
