Connected last night with a cousin several times removed who is willing to share her research on dad's side of the family. I'm so excited that we finally hooked up. The times she was in Iowa getting information, I was in Colorado. Little did I know, she lived north of me in Colorado.
The group taking the trip to Spain that I turned down leaves tomorrow. Feeling a bit envious but I know I would not have enjoyed the itinerary.

We got it for coat more than skin. Dh is certain he can tell a difference in shedding and shine when he takes it or doesn't. I think trying a supplement is a good idea, but if he still has issues I'd take him to an allergist. There lies a very long, painful, and expensive road of food trials but end goal to find an eliminate the allergen can be worth it. I think the first question is the type of food he's on. Corn and other filler-type dog food ingredients are a main source of allergies. Depending on what he eats, I would switch him to a higher quality food brand without corn, beet pulp, etc. I also know grain free is a big controversy right now with a report that it is linked to heart disease, but we have had good luck with GF foods. Our beagle is still on one because she just doesn't seem to be able to tolerate grains at her age (11).

BEG diets are hugely controversial, but its because the correlation is so high and data is so low. Dh's job won't even recommend ones from the big 4 manufacturers because there's not enough info but there are a lot of young otherwise healthy dogs dying. We really want to get devil dog off his hydrolyzed diet. Once we get his colonoscopy results back we can make the next plan. I don't want it to confirm ibd, but I dread going further down the allergy path.

Was talking to someone at work about concerts starting back up again and how Amy Grant is on my bucket list before she retires. Every year about this time, I get excited to get an alert that she's going to be in StL. I get excited and then realize it's a Dec Christmas show. I'm bah humbug about christmas songs so a whole concert of them sounds dreadful. I told work friend that I really should extend my tracker for her and hunt down a show within 5 hours. Found one in Henderson, KY which is 3 hours. I have Marriott points for the hotel. Two tickets are $90 all in. Now to find a friend to treat - I have one idea but not sure if she'll be able to get away as she has young kids. If she plays in KC I'd go with you. I'd also travel to StL, but not in December. Andi - Just have to say, I would not have pictured you as an Amy Grant type. With that said, do hit me up for a drink if/when you hit StL.

I want icecream for desert I don't have icecream s I am eating blueberries Blueberries are NOT ICECREAM so this doesn't work. I need to go shopping tomorrow ^ proof that even cooking for one is no guarantee there won't be complaints about dinner Frozen blueberries with heavy whipping cream in the blender is better than ice cream and no sugar! Two problems: I never have heavy whipping cream (as in NEVER) in the house and I gave my blender to a friend when she needed one. It was practically unused.

I am worried about DD, I made her drink water as I know she doesn't get enough. Her blood pressure is 91/66. it says that is on the edge of normal. But she was dizzy and light headed again. I may call her heart doc, I'm starting to worry with all her weight loss if she is on too much meds for or something. I checked her blood glucose and an hour or so after eating she was 116. Her afib heart rate is all over the place and for a bit her oxygen % was 94, then ticked up to 97. I think I will call her heart doc, but not sure what he will do, looking up on the net, this is the edge of normal.

I am so mad at this company supposedly negotiating for the postal service. They are basically telling me they will give us less money if we don't pay them a commission. BS! They are forcing me to let them be our broker or take money away. I'm not doing it.
I need to call our congressman and tell them. Hub so let them close the damn post office. He said sell it now, I said if we don't do this it would be sold under false terms and the buyer could sue us. I am beyond poed.
I find info saying that we do not have to do this. Our postmaster is no help at all, none.
I also found in their own literature that since this was an existing lease, there is little they need to do to add value. Also it's bee underpaid for a long time so what they are giving 20% is little. It automatically goes up each new lease anyway. I did contact our congressperson, but he is a repub. And that company JLL is huge and we are little nobodies. I expect nothing. I am so pi**ed and I'm sure other owners have been the same. I wonder what congressperson or relative they are attached to. They also leased the post office building to trump, so doesn't say much for them right there.
Our congressperson rep, is going to have a caseworker get back with us. I will call the end of next week and see the time frame.
And of course at the bottom of all this info is a blurb, saying they buy post office, cash out, no hassle, coincidence you think? I am so mad had to go back and read, some of this didn't even make sense.
They are also doing a dual agency, need to read back and see if that is in the info. I was supposed to have received a letter of intent. Don't remember getting that either.

You are very good at keeping track of her needs, health and meds, so I'm sure you already know this, but the thing that helps my A-fib the most is potassium. I have been pleasantly surprised at how much that 1 little thing has changed things for me, regarding my A-fib. But then everyone is different. I hope she's okay.

I'm taking a minute to figure out what I haven't gotten done yet today for work. mooch left a little while ago, so the plumbing stuff is all set. two new sillcocks so I can fill the dog pool without washing my basement floor and swap out hoses on the front one (both old ones had the hoses fused onto them, too). new water heater is all set as well. he said that when he pulled the old one out, there was more rust under it than he's seen on WHs decades older. so this replacement definitely needed to happen this year.
I've got two tired pups right now, they were playing in the pool as I was filling it. LD, genius that he is, was basically bailing it out as fast as it was filling, digging at the hose stream. I put a video up on FB, if we're linked there. the file is too big to attach here. Punk is out cold on the dog bed inside.

Play place is better than I expected for a Friday so close to school starting. They kept the normal lights on instead of the pretend rave of the weekend which is a life saver.

I have neither energy nor motivation, especially after discovering a couple work fires this am (which is what distracted me from my am to-do list). but, it's now almost 2pm on Friday and I've poured myself a glass of wine to power through that pair of documents I need to review today. most everyone else is already logged off for the week, so the risk of further interruption is pretty minimal. yeah, he's had a short plumbing to-do list for a little while now. the water heater hadn't been a high priority until I compared pics of the corroded connections over a week's span. at the rate things were going, this needed to happen soon. so, that's done, and I can figure out the rest of the priorities for this year. next week is the electrician, and I'm waiting to hear back from the tree company as to whether they'd prefer I mailed out a partial (well, almost all, anyway) check for the invoice while I wait to hear back from the PD about the detail challenge. but that's at least $3200. today was $3400, next week is a little short of $3k. I'm tired of this hemorrhaging funds, but I'm thankful I had it to spend.

So far I've emptied 3 boxes meant for the kitchen. It's a slow slog because I need in every case to decide where to put things. I don't have this planned out yet.
Plus, my own motivation is down at the park, watching boats go in and out and sipping sangria.

I'll ask for suggestions.

Another severe heat warning heat with admonishments to stay inside. Ugh! I might pop out later to pick up a rotisserie chicken, shawarma flavoured. They're freaking delicious!

I'm taking DD out to dinner at the local Italian restaurant, just to get her out of the house.
I need to mop and clean, haven't dusted in forever and it's starting to show. Not bad on dust here but we do get some and I do need to dust.
The senate rep called back, wow! And he is looking into this for me, had never heard of it either. That sounds strange, I keep hearing not much of this post office stuff comes out for the public.
He said he will get back with me and let me know or on a 3 way call about it. So that's good.
And that office is repub, but he didn't have a lot good to say about DeJoy, and sure didn't like management companies.

if I may, my white sangria has a bit of a cult following with my music cruise friends. I've shared it on this board before, but feel the need to share again. I started with this recipe - Super Fruity Sangria (which isn't the original post. idk when pineapple became a listed ingredient, I don't use it. ) over the years, I've experimented and tweaked here and there, and these are what I've settled on as "my" recipe vs the link. -follow the recipe amounts, but measure by liter and not by 750ml bottle. I'm usually mixing a huge cooler for parties, and use magnum bottles. 2 bottles = 3L -I use frozen sliced peaches and strawberries. makes my life a lot easier and also doubles as ice inside the cooler without watering down more. win-win! -I use Cavit pinot grigio, peach brandy, and Nantucket Nectars lemonade. I have a negative sweet tooth, and these options aren't too sweet for me.
