Just paid bills. Had my 2 cups of coffee. Restarted the dryer to try to take the wrinkles out of the clothes I didn't bother taking out last night and am pretending to contemplate going to make my 2 sides and get ready to go to my sister's house. I need to take the pie out of the fridge too so I don't forget it. Then at some point after I eat I have to haul myself to a couple of houses to feed cats and a rabbit. It's crappy out, as chiver already said, and I don't like driving in the rain but I said I would. Plus they're all so cute. One house has a little black nosy kitten who is so cute! Better behaved than my foster who keeps trying to slice my legs open. Happy Thanksgiving all!  |

It's pouring right now. I've got the pies made, although one apple pie fell (uncooked) out of the refrigerator. I scooped in back together. I've got the chex mix. I've got a lemon chiffon cake to celebrate birthdays. Couldn't remember to get raspberries to top it, so I spread raspberry jam on it instead. Maybe once I get to DSis's I'll add whipped cream or ice cream or something.
It should be a good holiday. I'm a little woozy from the hydrocodone. DH will do all the driving.

Checking in from the beach which has been glorious. Picture dd16 and 12 showing Teen the ropes about beach life. Teen can't stop giggling and saying I can't believe I'm actually here. Weather has been picture perfect every day, might be cold tomorrow but we want to go see Wicked anyway. Also going to do some online shopping. Learned bio mom isn't even allowed to text so huge weight lifted for both Teen and I. Also means I lifted insta ban on beach pics so Teen is truly living her best life. Day 1 she was video calling a bunch of cousins and friends and rubbing it in. Her very supportive aunt told me thanks thru tears. Teen saw dolphins from our balcony night 1 and was swimming near a sting ray until I made her get out lol. I spent 5 glorious solo hours at the beach yesterday afternoon and have some nice color to show for it. Sunscreen is a religion to me so no burns on my watch. I've read 4 books and been completely unplugged from work. One book left for today and tomorrow and then we drive back 11 hours on sat. Van is crowded but low key and fun. Splurged and we are at Turquoise Place in Orange Beach and I've been using our balcony private hot tub every night. Slid into bed at 730 pm last night bc the fresh air lulled me to sleep. Having coffee on the balcony now and deciding if I will veg here or beach. Other than the kids and DH being on their phones too much, I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Still marveling at the timing of it all. This sounds so relaxing for everyone. Sounds like social workers are seeing the big picture and that is fantastic. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Yes, you are good people. |

Last night, my power lift chair refused to recline. It sits up very straight and it is not comfortable for me. This morning I switched it out for the manual recliner so I can be in a comfy chair. Of course, I can't call the store until tomorrow. This happened once before and a part had to be ordered.
This morning, the same batteries are low and beeping on the security system. Last time it was a battery replacement and no charge. I was told if it happened again, it will need the sensor replaced and it's out of warranty. I don't know if the local store is open tomorrow or not.
So we are not off to a great start this morning.

Went to get dressed and found out fucking Hera puked on my bed. Wonderful. Now I have to do 2 loads of laundry tonight. Put the pee pad on it so hopefully she won't do it again but now I need to hope Peaches uses the litter box instead of my couch to take a crap today. Why do I have cats?

Pies last night: pumpkin, apple and mini quiches. Today so far: pretzel rolls, swiss buttercream (meringue powder gives a good texture but had a weird slight aftertaste, resorted to cherry flavor to mask it a bit). Made cake a couple days ago just got to frosting it.  Neither DH nor DS likes pie but both like cake. To start at 1:30: turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce. Probably whipped cream. Good enough  I am normally all over the black friday deals but just totally uninterested in buying anything this year. We have enough.  DH requested a specialized car thing that was pricey and has now been ordered, no one needs new electronics. DS’ requests are weird usually-he and DH have been building things like a mini cannon and an old fashioned dynamite plunger. He is still mourning that we won’t go buy him gunpowder for the cannon…anyway, not the easiest to buy for. That’s probably good because our house is full! Friend bringing her kids over tomorrow. They will help me dispose of excess pie |

Heating th end oven to toast walnuts needed for both veggie dishes I am taking. Once that is done I'll take a shower before finishing TBE food. TBE sun is out here but it is on the cool side at 50°. I had the best sleep in quite a while. I love a cool BR and warm covers. Well I got my wish: temps were down in the (upper) 30s and I always sleep with an open window. Heaven. Getting out of bed was not easy though  |
