I have the day off and have Supervan at the shop for an oil change and to get the snow tires on. They send you videos now while they're working on your vehicle showing you everything they find which is pretty cool.

DH got Maxwell Smart Doggie (aka Max The Maniac aka Max) to carry the newspaper in the house after our walk this morning. This is the best shot I could get, he wasn’t in the mood to pose:

Accidentally lowered my camera while looking at a secondary screen and pointed it directly at the boobies. Glad they were covered.

2 unrelated old coworkers have posted on fb that their adult children passed away in the last week. It's impossible to reconcile.

I don't think you can get UE until your vacation and settlement pay are used up. It might be different in every state, but here you cannot collect a dime until all vacation/severance pay is used first and whatever you do get in unemployment benefits is fully taxable.

I was thinking about replacing the dog door on the back of the house. It's on the screen door, not the big door. I figured they didn't make dog doors big enough for the twins, so why not just get rid of it. I quickly learned that Jackson's big ass can fit because he shot out of the dog door right away.

I bought myself a lawn sweeper. I told my uncle that I need to get a burn barrel soon. I have leaves all over plus a tree branch down because of a storm. I figured I could just collect the twigs/leaves weekly when I do a poop walk and stick them in the barrel until it is full.

ahh, farewell message has been sent and the prosecco has been popped. I'm letting breakfast settle a little before I get back to getting the house ready for guests. MC says her ETA is ~5pm, that it's snowy roads til she clears the Poconos in NE PA.

LOL, I have thought about getting a dog door for my backyard...but it would have to go on my slider. They do exist, I am just waiting until we replace the slider before I invest any $$ in one.

I got mine at Home Depot. it's $15 or $20, and I replace it every spring because the bottom gets shredded.

Had DH connect with bio dad to tell him we are taking Teen to the beach for the next week. Bio dad said safe travels and have fun. Whew! Not that he could stop us but so, so nice being supported. We leave at 2 today to drive part of the 11 hours. Toes in the sand by 2 tomorrow! Home again in one day drive on sat. Not expecting to be online much so don't worry I've gone missing! I hope each and every one of you (all 5 of you) has a fun and relaxing time at the beach.

Your dogs are civilized and the twins are feral. When I go to open the door they are climbing over each other to get out. Then before it even opens they're jumping on it to get it to open so they can sprint out of it like someone is chasing them or something. I think I would have to replace it as soon as I got it and that would piss me off.

Went to town this morning to pick up two prescriptions at the drive thru.
I was the only car. It was over 30 minutes before I was asked what I needed. I was just getting ready to call the pharmacy to tell them I was in the drive thru on my phone.
After all of that, it was $2.44 and took 50 minutes to complete the transaction.

Appliance man just left. He said it was the drain hose. My dad replaced it already. He said when he started the washer that immediately that's where it started leaking from. I'm going to let the water on the floor dry before attempting to wash clothes again. Hopefully it works because I don't want to replace this washer. He said if for some reason it doesn't work to just call him and he'll come back out for free. Hopefully I don't need to call and my dad just didn't know how to replace the drain hose correctly.

Grrrr……I think I’m losing the battery on my Kindle. I read about an hour before going to sleep (maybe less). I charged it not that long ago, and last night it was less than 10% battery. WiFi turned off, that was the first thing I checked as that eats battery faster than anything. I read during most of long haul flights, and I’ve got one coming up in Jan. So do I replace it (it’s on sale during Black Friday) or just let it slide?

The balcony was filthy, so I cleaned it up the other day. It's filthy again, with big clumps of dirt everywhere. The neighbour said she saw squirrels burying nuts in my window boxes. I had ripped out the remaining flowers in preparation for the winter. The squirrels climb straight up, vertically, on the brick walls of the building. I'm going to have to find something to dissuade them from digging in there, or I'll be cleaning it every day....maybe some overturned flower pots.

weltz, good luck with your surgery. I imagine it will be a big relief to have this in your rear view mirror.

MPL - we've started using Greenlight debit card with DD12. I really like it except I have to use the app, there's no online option that I can find. It was free with our us bank account. DD12 loves it and I love not having to give her cash which I never have. Thanks for the recommendation!

This w/e I'll teach Christine from upstairs how to pill the cat. I just want it to be over. I wish people would stop telling me horror stories about someone they know who had the same surgery. That's not helpful at all.

weltz, I'm so happy for you, you have neighbors that have offered to help. A wonderful friend that has helped you financially. I hope the new year and the rest of this one brings much happiness for you. I love to hear of heartwarming stories like this, restores ones faith in people.
An Azucena, you folks need to have a wonderful vacation. I hope teen really enjoys herself, this likely shows her a whole different type of life than she is used to. How wonderful for her to experience this and for your kids to be so accepting of others. Again warms my heart, she will be given a chance for a better life.
Such good examples of how people should be.
I am coughing again. I'm sure I've come into contact with someone somewhere when out and about the last few days and I'm not pleased. My nose is starting to run, this has just happened overnight so something pretty strong has hit me. I don't want this over Thanksgiving when I need to cook. My fault for not wearing a mask when out, damn. I'm going to see about some DayQuil or some other OTC to see if it helps me.
Need to get busy today, have only done a bit of laundry so far, have more I need to do. The kitties went out but didn't stay out long.

My Kindle Voyage still works but I also have a Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition and my older Kindle Oasis still fires up too. Considering the oasis is worth $5 on trade in and the paperwhite $30 (but if you trade in old device you do get 20% off on the new one), it is not worth giving them back to them if they still work. the Black Friday deal on the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is $154.99, and you can get the 16gb version for $84.99.

The great night's sleep (I told DH I would unalive him if he made a sound) did wonders and I've been productive today. Made breakfast, cleaned the bathrooms, posted Quicken stuff, made assorted phone calls, put pork chops in the marinade, worked on the book, got laundry going now, and cleaned the inside of my windshield which was super hazy. The windshield on my Tiguan is HUGE and I can barely reach all of it, but it was a good stretching workout. azucena No one could deserve a vacation more than you and yours chiver78 It sounds really trite, but your new journey begins now and I believe it will be a great one TheOtherMe That pharmacy story is insane! My CVS posts a sign closing the drive-thru if they are too short-staffed to work both it and the inside counter. 50 minutes is ridiculous.

DS saw his grades but he complained about the B he got! I really wanted to avoid him getting so stressed about his grades, but he seems to be doing it anyway. Part of me is happy that he's working hard, but part of me wants him to just be a kid and enjoy his youth. I told him that it's totally okay to recognize areas of improvement AND be very happy with what you accomplished. He is worried about his test on Monday, but I told him to take a break and play a game and then do some studying.
I'm finishing up work while watching an African/Jamaican food tour.... I can tell by how it looks it's absolutely BANGIN. And I WANT SOME RIGHT NOW!
